Hello, anyone out there A long time ago I remember us talking about websites and vendors that will create actual albums out of wedding photos. Does anyone remember this conversation or could give a good recommendation on where to go/who to use? We want to make real albums, as the photos are part of the page not glued onto the page, or stuck into a slot or "frame" on the page. Any ideas?? Also, we got our "love box" up and running! I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a decorative box and craft paper that I thought was cute and placed it on the mantel. It's a pretty big box as I wanted it to last and fill up over the next 50 years. So far so good! Tracy, are you alive? How did your surgery go!?!?!??

Name Change Advice please!!
hoyt75 replied to nikkimadril's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Wait. Changing your name on your tickets and all your ID's would be cumbersome and you want would def want to make sure that it's all taken care of in plenty of time before you leave. I would wait until you got back and are officially married. -

Any help would be appreciated! I had my makeup done by the spa and it turned out really well. I'm not a big makeup person either and wouldn't know the first thing about trying to put it on. Didn't have a trial run, but I brought inspiration pics of how I wanted it to look and it came out well, but still didn't look like I was wearing makeup.

I'm so sorry, I can't imagine going through this! You're right, it's not the same to have a replacement. I hope they find it and you get something really big out of it!

We got married during Easter weekend (the day before Easter) at the Valentin Imperial Maya. We loved the resort, everything was beautiful, and would highly recommend it. They have a chapel that they only use for Catholic ceremonies, and it wouldn't have been a problem for us to have a Catholic ceremony either. DH is Catholic, I'm not confirmed, so we decided to have a symbolic ceremony on the beach. But, we could have done it if we really wanted to.

It's all a matter of opinion to me. I got married at 24 and I still think that's pretty young to get married, let alone 18!
-
He's 1 year and 2 months older then me, he's 26 but I'm 24. I can barely pass for 18 and he's always bragging about how he caught a younger girl. In fact, the first time I meet his family and friends they pulled him aside to ask how old I was, they thought I was only 16 or 17... and I was 21. He'll appreciate my young-looking-ness when we're 50 tho!

Not doing an OOT bag?
hoyt75 replied to StephyD's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We didn't do OOT bags and I'm so glad we stuck with our decisions. It costs a lot of money, consumes a lot of space, and not to mention the time and sanity that I would have lost trying to do them. -

HAHAHAHA!!!! Nat, that is EXACTLY what my husband would do! He would leave it there until I told him that I wanted it moved. Seriously, what is up with guys? They were given a perfectly good brain, and yet, they're incapable of using it half the time.

We got legally married here a month or so before we got married in Mexico, but us, we weren't married at all until we did it in Mexico. Marriage isn't just about a piece of paper that binds you together, it's about your spirit and soul making a commitement to each other.

I don't think you're being snippity either, I'm just relaying info that our county clerk told us in hopes that it can help someone else. Texas is a bit backwards compared to other states, and I know this b/c I've lived all over the country. And it is hard to get a straight and consistent answer from one person to the next, let alone from one department to another.

Ick ick ick ick icky! Again, this is why we got married a the JP before we left for Mexico. After to talking to the county clerk here in Tarrant County (Fort Worth) she told me that we would have had to have our Mexico license translated into English and then put on file with the county clerk. She said it was a long and drawn out process, which can rather costly. Lady Di - If you're considering getting a new marriage certificate here then make sure you get a formal marriage certificate. The informal cert does not let you change your SS card to change your name, nor in most cases does it let you share benefits with your spouse, so one of you would not be able to get onto the other health insurance plan. I would not recommend just using your Mexican marriage license b/c you may run into the problem of companies (health, insurance, etc) wanting to see your marriage license, and they may refuse to accept an out-of-country marriage license. I'm really sorry that y'all are going through this, but in the end, I would prefer to get another certificate here than to risk not being legally considered husband & wife and not being able to share assets and benefits. It reminds me of a gay couple getting married in CA or VT and then moving out of the state. They're still married the state that married them, but they wouldn't be considered married here, and they don't to share all the same benefits in TX as they would in the state they got married in. Just a thought.

The first time I did it (level 1) I thought I was going to die on my living room floor and was unbelievably sore for 3 days. Then I figured out that it was because Jillian doesn't really stretch well before or after the work out. I started stretching on my own (I ride horses and have super thick muscles) and didn't haven't had any problems being sore, or feeling like I was going to die. I just hate "working out". The whole idea sinks. And, I hate the idea of my husband watching me as a sweat like a fat pig.

LOVE! going to work (which I totally hate right now)

My mom is a public notary and is able to do weddings in Fl. She lives there and wanted us to get married there (we live in Tx) so that she could officiate, lol.

I'm so glad we got married here! We went to the JP in Fort Worth to get married here before we left, and the lady taking our info basically told us that most people that do a dw have to come back to Tx and get legally married here. It's just a really long, difficult and expensive process. I do know that you have to take the marriage certificate that you got and bring it to the country clerk where they will give you info to have it translated into English, that copy will then need to be brought back to the county clerk and certified with them. She was telling us that it's like a 6 month process, so i meanwhile, you're not legally or recognized as being married here until it's approved and certified by the county clerk. I'm sure you already knew all that... Hope it all works out well!
