  1. yeah ice cubes, thats a good point actually, I went and got my hep a and hep b shot, but still good to know I have asked Ana on seperate occasions about fire dancers they do allow them but I am not sure what vendors they use or what is the cost associated with same some of the DJ that are used at DRC like Mannia and Doremixx have cold fireworks - I have seen pictures of them for the first dance and it looks really neat
  2. Oh no now we need 150 posts to see links *digging for wallet for the USD 25* how else am I supposed to stay up all night? ha ha
  3. We are finally booked for a ceremony at Secrets Maroma and Cecilia has told me to be in contact with Gabi at planner1events for flowers / chairs / gazeebo decoration etc. has anyone had any dealings with this company? Gabi so far has been very responsive but I want to make sure that they will also deliver on what we are signing up for Thanks so much!
  4. Normajeane you may also want to check out http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-wording-5764/ its a whole thread about wording of invitations
  5. I love that, it also serves as telling your guests how formal of an event its going to be, I actually already copied it for my reference of options of wording to use - thanks!
  6. We cant do plated dinner regardless due to # of guests but I also considered buffett before as you only get once choice of entre with a plated dinner and thats tough if you have a large group welcome to the group Kym - happy planning!
  7. I think Ana told me that the deck could facilitate 200+ plus so should be plenty. The deck is right next to the beach and the pool terrace is next to the deck http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...6/index52.html here is pictures of how the different set ups look I have asked Ana about signature drink (at Secrets Maroma this was USD 2 per person extra) and fire dancers just no responce yet, and I was not sure if other girls found it worthwhile but I will let you know atleast what the price point once I hear back
  8. SDBeach girl yeah I was worried about that too so we are looking into lights under the table as well, we had initially thought candles but guess they might not stay lit if its windy out do you know if they are all one colour? is it just white light? again sorry to be a pest - jeez I have so much time - but fire dancers? fireworks? has anyone know a vendor for either of these, good or bad experience? Thanks - you girls really are my sanity for the last couple of months!
  9. I think the party flip flops site is super cute, first thing I actually ordered cause we were sure on a DW was a set of 'just married' flip flops in case some of you ladies wanted to wear that - I heard someone wore their bridal shoes and right after the ceremony switched to those, might make for some cute pictures in the sand
  10. SDbeachgirl yeah I am curious about that too actually. Our ceremony and cocktail hour is at Secrets Maroma and if memory serves me right, it was an extra USD 2 per person to have a signature drink... our photographer Elizabeth Medina had photographed a couple of weddings with signature drinks and I agree it looks cool!
  11. Hi Nadia - am from Calgary too, getting married a month behind you has anyone looked into firedancers or fireworks at DRC? I am now thinking our DJ budget might go towards just renting out speakers for an ipod and I might use the money for that instead, although I guess some DJs do 'cold fireworks' and that would be neat too
  12. we are going to plug in our ipod for the 20/30 min prior to ceremony and have a cd from this guy playing Steel Drum Wedding Music CDs and MP3s
  13. This is awesome - thanks everyone! I only managed to go thru about a 1/4 cant wait to get home and finish the rest
  14. how fun are they eh? yeah I am planning to use her too, but not sure on the design, are you girls just going with one of her samples or are most people designing their own? I would love to create something unique just dont think that I am creative enough for it, ha ha
  15. odd ball question - we signed contract with Cecilia but I have been trying to wire funds ever since and I cant get an answer for the address of the beneficiary, do any of the girls who already got married at Secrets know this? For beneficiary I got IXE BANCO S.A.FIDEICOMISO thanks, sorry I just feel so anxious that there are still loose ends
