And I feel a little selfish because I know our guests would enjoy the DJ far more than they will about a great photographer being there! What are your thoughts and what are you going with? No worries its your wedding, I think as long as you put in the work with your ipod your guests would have just as much fun (it is more work for the bride and groom however). For us the first thing we booked after we had our date was our photographer, that was by far the biggest 'splurge' for the day and I am extatic. We are still trying to get a DJ - it all comes down to price, but we are quite willing to skip the DJ and stick to ipod if something has to be cut.

  3. We are getting married on a Friday but I still hope that most if not all will be there for the week, I am actually somewhat bumbed though cause our guests are indicating that they will be coming but we sent our save the dates a month ago and no one booked yet I know quite a few actually requested the time off work already which is great, but why is no one booking? sigh
  4. Sheena my experience so far has been is that expedia is cheaper than going thru a TA, my TA has been quoting all direct flights, predominantly thru aircanadavacations.com but group rates and we are staying in two diff. resorts and the like that expedia cant really handle... we are in Calgary, and have a whole bunch of people from Winnipeg and some from Vancouver. I found that some airline providers, for example Westjet, arent quoting yet for that far out. So I mean it might be an expensive time but maybe if you do some research closer too there maybe additional providers and you might get a break, cause yeah double, thats ouch! Good luck!

I've emailed like 3 times and no response for over a week, I feel like I'm stuck in limbo because if the date I need isnt available, I'm just wasting more time waiting for a response. Did any of you ever feel like just giving up?! I was hoping for a simple and basic wedding in August. This site has helped a lot but I got a little worried that my date wouldnt be avalable when I saw people that were already booking for 2011. Thanks so listening! Hang in there, they do 2 weddings each day, it just might all work out yet, it has been tough to be patient with Ana, but ultimately I find it does all work out Happy planning!

Maybe the concierge would answer more quickly? Sorry the conceirge? It hadnt occured to me to start asking other people, although I def. feel like I am getting to the point where I just want some answers, I do have lots of time, that being said I have been planning for 4ish months, and have less than 9 to go, so I know it goes by fast
  8. Table linens is the thing that I have struggled with the most actually. I had spoken to one vendor so far, our colours are coral/pink and tourquise and they really dont understand what coral means - my suggestion is dont just assume that they know what you mean but ask them to send them a picture to finalize I am down to considering bringing linens with me, but I have asked Ana repeatedly to provide me with dimensions of cocktail tables, and the 8 person round table, cake table etc. and she is yet to respond - if anyone has this information I would greatly appreciate it!
  9. Oh man I am so undecided Fernando or Ilka? now for Fernando I was thinking just make up or do you ladies know if he just used one persona for hair all the time? seems to worrisome for me to not know who is doing the hair, I have long hair and very picky, oh what to do what to do
  10. I guess to be more specific It is aprox 14 cms for the small one and 25-30 cms the big one Gabi at Planner1Events is the vendor I tried copying the pictures from the email into word to post them here but its not letting me, I believe she has some of the pictures on her website however. I didnt like Gabi's linens but she is very very prompt, and we are renting chiavary chairs, some lounge furniture, and she is going to do the rose pomanders, my bouquet and bride's maids bouquets
  11. I am getting them thru a vendor recommended by Secrets Maroma, the small rose pomanders are USD 35 each, and some of other flowers if I remember correctly are USD 25 each. The vendor can also do the huge pomanders, but 4 of those were like USD 360, but were like the size of a head. I considered these at first but then thought that there isn’t enough height in the beach canopy thing and we would just keeping bumping against it.
  12. here is what I got from Ana, I thought there is stuff to work here with I am doing rose pomanders on the inside chairs for the ceremony and thought of literarly flippin them to use in addition as table decoration and for a low vase Ana quoted me USD 5 to rent DRC centerpieces.ppt
  13. Do any of you ladies have Sarah's email I have been trying to email her about prices for photobooks and I cant get the link to work
  14. I doubt that any DJ would play music in the rain regardless, I am sure they would want to protect their equipment - but yes being outside def. a risk
  15. thanks - yeah sorry I guess I made a comment on the other Secrets Maroma thread but not this one, yes it was like close your eyes, take a deep breath, and push go and low and behold Cecilia actually confirmed the deposit - horay! so yes its all systems go I am having a hard time getting a good linen vendor, so I am thinking of now just buying cocktail table and linen for the little table under the gazeebo and bringing them with - Cecilia's answer to how much material to buy, whats the height etc. - is that the table are retractable so whatever - how tall do you girls think those cocktail tables are? how tall and wide is that little table? or should I really just buy stuff thats too long and just tuck it in?
