  1. To my understanding the buffet included all those items, but if you have the sit down all your guests have to have the same entree. If you are having more than 40 guests there is no choice but to have the buffet. Happy planning!

  3. thanks so much thats great, I am def. settled on swarovki, there are Etsy shops that will customize some peices for you The Lala necklace is amazing! it reminds me of Pretty Woman when they are off to the opera (yes I have seen that movie way too much) what a stunning peice!
  4. Ooops sorry Ashly guess I responded before reading all the comments - a sorta of a double post. In terms of location, if you face DRC the resort is like 3 corners of a box, the previous wedding site (2nd already actually but I think its the first to most of us) is right at tip of the left side (there are pictures about half way back thru the post). This wedding site also doubles as a volleyball court area and is right below where the pictures of this last wedding took place, so they are below the bar. Ana was going to move the wedding site to the end of the right tip of the resort, yes I do believe that is where the kayak's are, but if you ladies go back again just a couple of posts there was a wedding right on the dock, its going to be I believe more in that area, its supposed to be less busy. I think it all comes down to the fact that only the beach front in front of the hotel is theirs, the rest of it is public, or something of that sort, so it has to be on their property so they put it at the very end either right or left. I too hate though that the photographer basically cant look back onto our guests because he or she will be getting too much of the resort. Sorry for the long runt.

  8. thanks for posting the videos! great to see - surprised the couple wasnt closer to the cold fireworks though, thought they could almost be all around? but very pretty still

We were hoping for a bit longer, so maybe 4 hours of either, maybe that is what was in my head - in any case my apologies for the confusion!

And then I guess I'll worry about the DJ, like you I want to get a few things out of the way before committing to that Elizabeth has been phenomenal to deal with!!! We booked her for wedding day pictures, and I am hoping to book her for TTD, funny thing it kinda helps you out...Elizabeth has to travel a fair bit to get to DRC, so she said unless she has another wedding following mine, wedding November 19th, leaving Mayan on the 28th, I will have to do the TTD the following morning. Which I guess is fine, but I would love to do it at sunrise, and the morning following the wedding I think I will be just in want to relax mode, so I am holding my breath that someone else books a wedding the following week - you unfortunately are just before But yes cant say enough good things about Elizabeth, she is super friendly, her daughters are totally on the ball, and she responds to emails and is super helpful! Happy planning!

My recommendation with all these things is that if you have decided on something to book it right away, for example Ivan is the DJ Doremixx, Ivan does provide his DJ services at more than one resort, if they are both booked you may be able to get an alternative option thru Ana...not sure. We are not yet decided on a DJ due to cost, we are waiting to confirm some other big ticket items, ie. dress and rings, prior to making that commitment but I would suggest if you know one way or another to tell Ana to reserve them.
  15. the two DJs that are used for DRC are DJ Mannia and Doremixx, both have very good reviews from other ladies on the forum unfortunately, the cash grab, is that we have to book them thru the resort where as if you got their price list directly they are cheaper but we cant book them ourselves, just one of those things that is super frustrating
  16. Sorry for the multiple posts but I just wanted to note that using an ipod we ladies then rent the sound system for USD 180 per hour for the reception, DJ is USD 1200 for 3 hours if I remember correctly, and then you also get cold fireworks, extra lighting etc. So if you wanted to have 3 hours of music regardless, you are comparing USD 600 for Ipod or USD 1,200 for DJ - that stressed me out personally when it dawned on me

Cathy I dont think so, that being said everything has tax on it so USD 180 + 10% tax - that would get to that magic number of USD 198
