Hello ladies, just got back Saturday night! I cant believe it! We ended up doing 4 photo shoots, that’s right 4! ha ha But only have picture yet from 1 (the resort photog) the other 3 were with Elizabeth Medina and Del Sol, cant wait to see those! The day was amazing in short! Once I have links will post here. One of the ladies talked of glass centre pieces couple pages back... We brought 11 hurricanes (had 6 tables) plus 5 to put randomly by the cake, candy table, etc. well they all made it there no problem (were a hassle to transport, but ultimately I didnt mind) but it was crazy windy that day, so actually my biggest annoyance with the wedding set up is that I brought the hurricanes, pretty candles, and items to fill the space between the hurricane and the candles... but at the dinner reception they put the tall hurricane and put a misely little led candle inside!! it looked dumb! I guess I should note that I brought 45 paper bag luminaries, a 1/3 large, 1/3 medium, 1/3 small size. The large were to make a walk way to the dinner, and they put those out. But didn’t use the medium or small at all!! Instead they used the led candles I brought for those as the one candle in the hurricane on the table top! If I could do it all over I would have brought lanterns, or coloured glass holders for the led candles. The other disappointment is that clean up really happens so quick that I basically didn’t get any of my stuff back, so I would say plan on just leaving it all behind. Once I have pics I will get my butt in gear and will do a planning / recap thread. Happy Planning!

That wedding on the weekend was us!! Gabi thank you so much, I loved our rose pomanders!! Ladies that picture from Gabi's profile, right next to Planner1Event picture is our wedding gazeebo set up! We ended up having 4 photo shoots!! ha ha, so crazy. Wedding day with Elizabeth Medina, 2 TTD with Sol from DelSol and 1 with the resort photog in the ocean in our regular clothes, that is the only pics I have. I have those on a CD but as soon as I get a link to our site I will post it here. Elizabeth's and Sol's pictures are not done yet, but both ladies and their amazing 2nd photogs worked so hard that I am sure they will be stunning! All the more difficult to wait, ha ha! Anyhow we just got back Saturday night. I LOVED the beach! Let me know if you specific questions, and I will try to do a review once the pictures are in. -
Hi Janine, we just got back Saturday night, it was so great to meet you and James! Thanks again for all the goodies, I def. used the candy containers, and loved the Mint To Be Together! I didnt end up using the parasols (they didnt seem to weather the storm well) but in any case everything is back in that room at the business centre with the name of the lady (shoot cant remember it now) for which it was entended for in a couple months I believe. Thanks again! I still cant believe we are back home.

We got back Saturday night, ended up doing 4 photo shoots, ha ha! we only planned on doing 2, wedding day and TTD. Ending up doing TTD twice, same dress, so TTTD? And then we did a beach / ocean shoot in our regular clothes with the resort photog, just cause out wedding was super windy and over cast and I was worried it would be the same for our TTD, but last 3 shoots were all beautiful! Anyhow, only have the resort photographer photos and I cant wait for the rest. I am super cold today, its tough to trade in white sand for white snow!

Hi ladies, just thought to do a shout out, I leave for the airport in 8 hours so really should finish packing, dear FH has been out for about 2 hours already but you know packing dilemmas, 2 suitcases for my clothes is too much, 1 is too little, so I figure forget packing lets visit the girls! ha ha! Hope everyone is doing well with your planning, will try to put together a planning thread when I am back - Cheers!

we are doing USD 800 for 20 min. for either 4 or 5 dancers (it keeps changing) so at USD 450 I think thats a steal. I think that 10-15 is great length. We were told at first 6 dancer USD 1,000 for 45 min. but really who wants to watch that for so long? I think it would be super boring.

Yeah we leave this Saturday and I do find that although responces are getting faster, allot of new costs are creeping up!! It almost does seem like contracts are 'fluid' and subject to change, cause really what am I going to say with 3 days to go, no to something? so I do feel dooped, but with so much stress and effort put thru the year, my moto is just to throw money at the problem and move on, ha ha! You gotta pick your battles I guess. All the best. I will def. post a review once we are back.

I am actually about to be hauling 11 hurricanes as in picture 33 of the centrepeices - they didnt rent these out before to my knowledge - do any of the ladies know how much they are? They are already packed so I will grab them, but jee wish I didnt have that hassle. I love what pbjwed is doing! so if any of you ladies are at the resort say prior to 23 let me know, we will check out on the 18th, but will come visit family atleast once before they leave as I have a ton of stuff too.

We arrive on the 13th and I will definitly try to find you that first night, provided I guess it takes us less than 10 hours to check in, oh my what a saga!! I cant believe that they put you thru all that! But hopefully you get all the dumb stuff out of the way with the check in and its smooth sailing from here on out! All the best and have fun on your wedding day!

Gabi I am super excited, we leave in 12 days (this is Kate) and I really look forward to finally meeting you on November 19th!! Man how the time flew! -
I went thru your pictures - looked like a great time! 1. how many guests did you have? we are having 49 and thoughts to do a 2 tier cake, but yours was 3 - curious how many it fed 2. I was going to bring ribbon with me for the cake, they seemed to do a really good job on yours, did you bring your own ribbon or did they make it out of sugar? just curious - thanks.

Hi - hope its alright with MrsGP2be but on another thread we were talking about orange calla lilies and then I read this one and I thought you looked familiar http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=221461&id=62235714776#!/photo.php?fbid=468117049776&set=a.409436059776.170624.62235714776&pid=5342324&id=62235714776 (pictures 56-59) your pictures look stunning! Off to Sephora this weekend and maybe a MAC counter, I really dont wear make up, chapstick is a necessity and the odd mascara but I know a number of ladies swear by MAC so will put it on the list.

We have 2 "kids" also (ages 8 and 15) - and 1of those kids is family and so to make it easier on our family and friends from the onset FH and I said we will be welcoming of everyone so our week with family and friends will be in a family friendly resort - I truly believe that Dreams Riviera Cancun is fantastic for families + those without a family. We loved that it was newer (rebuilt Oct09), close to Cancun to go to a club and close to Playa to go clubbing and shop, at the same time some of the older folk can go for a stroll on the beach and you arent at the next resort within a few steps... so yes we love our decision! We were allowed kids for the day at the beach at Secrets Maroma - why I wouldnt recommend it? We have to pay day passes for about 50 people our guests arent staying there (we are moving the day before the wedding to Secrets Maroma, hence 1 week at DRC and 1 week at Secrets). We did after months of negotiation get some of the cost included in that figure (extra decor, etc.), but man was it stressful and it is more expensive than keeping it all in one spot! Thankfully FH supported me in the decision to push forward and book Secrets Maroma, but without us being able to do so financially and my Mom contributing about 1/3 of the wedding cost I dont think we could have done it. I am sure the wedding day will be amazing and special just by the people who surround us and ultimately because of that special man that we all get to walk down the isle to - although I am super excited to have it at Maroma - from conversations with previous brides here locally I would doubt that any of us would actually even notice all those details on the day of - I am just going to be a ball of cloud nine emotions regardless! If any of you have specific questions just pm me
