  2. A get together does sound great, I second the lunch idea, although I am pretty flexible, I work downtown and live in Coach Hill. FI and I are off to New York for a week on June 16th, but some time late June / early July (yes I know I am super lame with this hectic schedule) would be fantastic - then again who plans a lunch a month in advance? oh well, hope to join you ladies. Happy planning and stay dry!

Oh my, 15 feet away, I wouldnt be able to get any shut-eye! Talk about extreme camping! Glad that everyone is back in one peice.
  5. We havent hired a videographer (we may ultimately not have one) but from my research the video guys who can hook right into the sound system create the best audio. Thanks Lynnea!
  6. ha ha, funny how the weather turns shit every time its a long weekend, grrr oh well, summer cant avoid this city for much longer. Have a great long weekend girls.
  7. Still looking into this, the two names I have approached are: - Fernando Fuentes from the make up pros - Ilka Monforte I just cant decide. I have long very straight hair and this is at the top of the list of things to get crossed off. Thanks for all the suggestions / reviews!
  8. Wooo hoo nasty letter to sunwig worked!!! we are back to having 10 additional people confirmed at the group rate, jeez this is just too much!
  9. Sigh, so 12 people have already booked thru Romantic Travel, then Sunwig took over the charter flight and is refusing to add anyone to our group at the same rate. We had confirmed another 10 spots at that price - just when you think you can relax! I have 6 friends standing by to book, jeez I told people book right away dont wait, guess there is only so much you can do. Angry letter written to Sunwig first thing today. The requoted price is close to CAD 300 more per person, grrr!

USD 180 if I remember correctly just for the ceremony but I believe most ladies say its worth it so that you could hear. I wonder if the resort videographer takes audio straight from the speakers or he just have a mike on the video camera... in any case its another USD 180 per hour for the reception - so it adds up quick!
  11. Oh wow, so beautiful and close! thanks so much! Mlynnea - did you find other cool spots to shoot? Anything with a Mexican feel or unique? I felt in love with the area of Maroma beach, we actually chose the beach first then the hotel so def. looking forward to beach pictures and TTD in the water, but I would also love some unique local. I love the pictures of the quient mexican multi-colourful town but that is a fairy ride away so too far, but wonder if there is anything close with bright buildings? Thanks!!!
  12. Wow what a great review, thank you so much for taking the time to write it all, all these reviews are such great help for all of us brides that are still in planning stages! I must say we splurged on photography to get Elizabeth Medina but Cecilia's photos are just stunning! I must find that hacienda now, what a great great space!!! (would love to hear directions of how to get there - we will be there one day prior to and I am looking forward to running around and finding such quint spots, how marvelous!) thanks again.

I didn`t really have anything to contribute since my fiance and I had nothing planned except that we knew we wanted a destination wedding to cut down on the guest list. We come from huge Asian families and honestly, we`re not that close to them so I didn`t want a big wedding just out of obligation to others who probably didn`t care to be there. If that makes sense. So right now we`re waiting for quotes to come back from Candace at Romanticplanets. Has anyone dealt with her before. She seems quite responsive (compared to the lady at Sears Travel!) but just wanted to make sure that her customer service was consistent throughout... We got the original quote for Dreams Puerto Vallarta in May from the Sears lady but I`m hoping to get a quote that`s similar if not better from Romanticplanets because I like their customer service much better. Does $1589 taxes included sound reasonable for Dreams Puerto Vallarta on May 7th 2011. Thanks guys! Can`t wait to really start contributing to this thread. Mary One of my friend of a friend works at Romantic Planet - Deanna - she has been great! We approached atleast 5 or 6 travel agents, and she is the only one that we used!

Yeah I am thinking of just telling the girls to get something pink/orange/yellow (might be fun if they get one of each) and just any close to knee length dress without bling. My MOH is Indian and is a tiny thing. Another really good friend is quite big and the third is a wife of a really good friend (she is actually driving me nuts now actually, what a diva!) anyhow and she is on the high side of average, so regardless one dress or style wouldnt work on them. Yeah I love Victoria Secret - I actually know the dress you mean! I would love to buy something online J-Crew, Macy's etc. all have such great dresses! But the girls are apprehensive with anything online so trying local stores first. On another note - dont psyche yourself out, when you go to find your perfect dress I am sure its going to be a great experience!!
