  1. We were thinking of a VI but decided not to because our date was more important than place. I'm a teacher, so we want to get married right during Hurricane Season! Good luck in your planning!
  2. Oh favors. We only have about 30 people coming, so our OOT bags are starting to get out of hand (in my head anyway). In addition to the bag and normal "stuff" For the women - a necklace with a customized charm from an etsy seller and a jewelry roll. For the men - a money clip customized with a charm from the same etsy seller and possibly cigars. Of course, nothing is set in stone. These are just my thoughts right now.
  3. Wow. It's really great that you were able to go down ahead of time for the site visit. I always think it's interesting how one person can have a completely different experience than another. You give us a great reminder to remember the sickness meds in the OOT bags!
  4. Since we started dating before our senior year of high school, we have been dating for 10 years. We have moved a total of 14 times in those 10 years, including our move to California. A week after we get married - we will move to Hong Kong! For me it's not the years, but the number of moves. What will we do when we finally stay in one place?
  5. I'm sorry you have to deal with this kind of stress. There is no stress like family stress. It's hard to choose yourself over your family sometimes, but this is one of those times it is called for. Ultimately, it is your day and you need to feel loved all throughout the day, not worried about whether someone will or will not cause you stress. I agree with Skadow - if you choose to "fire" her, offer to pay the cancellation fees to try to soften the blow. Good luck in making your decision. Do what is right for you and your family.

Besides, I would love to have him open the gift and see the cover and REALLY wonder what's on the inside!!! Woot! OOh...I like the idea of just a blank book. My FI is always journaling in black, plain covered books. What a great idea!

The next day I had my sister's boyfriend 'messenger' the locked box to our suite where FI was getting ready. His reaction was priceless... the pro-photographer took fantastic shots of his reaction. On the inside of the book the first page read the following: C, This is your new black book, at the end of the day today you'll have no use for your old little black book. You may remember a special emergency trip to Toronto, where I disappeared for an entire afternoon? In the pages to come the mystery will be solved, leaving us free of any secrets. I know that you would never expect it, "I was the girl with the business degree, probably wouldn't recognize me". You tell me I'm gorgeous everyday, and after putting this together for you, I think I agree - I'm pretty hot actually! See you at the end of the aisle... Ill be the one in the white dress, wearing blue panties... I love you, A. He was definately surprised.... Hope this provides some inspiration! Your letter is great! Definitely words to excite!
  9. These look amazing! I am considering starting with jeans and moving from there - your first pic pretty much makes that idea a yes.
  10. I have heard of some brides using airbrush foundation without the machine. Not sure if this works as well, but it is supposed to go on flawlessly...
  11. I have been trying to decide to flower or not. These pictures give some great ideas to go big or simple. Thanks!
  12. Everything looks great! Your guests are going to love them. I especially like the Longhorns emblem. Very appropriate!
  13. Everyone looks wonderful! I feel like maybe I chose too quickly, even though I went through 4 different stores before finding mine. It came this week, which is earlier than they said it would. I haven't even had time to take it out of the box. I have also lost 15 pounds since purchasing the dress and the lady talked me into ordering the dress in a size larger than the sample. Uh. If I ever get around to trying it on and finally deciding what I want altered - I will post pics. Oh, and if I actually fill my post quota...
  14. I'm sorry to hear about the added stress! Good luck finding what you ned to make your day the way you want it.
  15. Congratulations! If you have a particular date, make sure you check the average weather. We really wanted to be married in August (I'm a teacher who teaches summer school), but were forced to rethink the destination because of the average rainfall in certain places.
  16. If only I loved green more! Those dresses look amazing. I am a blue fan, hands down, though.
  17. Good luck figuring out a photographer! I have also gotten a lot of ideas from this site - more than my coordinator is giving us!
  18. Welcome! I say start planning whatever little things you can now so you can relax a bit more later. If relaxing is even possible! Good luck with planning!
  19. I hate the fact that I wouldn't have thought about bringing seasick pills with me! We are thinking about doing a cruise rehearsal dinner - this is all great information to have. Thanks, ladies! If I choose, I will let you know how it goes!
  20. Oh another idea... The Royal Philharmonic has done a lot of instrumental versions of popular songs.
