  1. Thanks for sharing, and I'm glad that you are doing well now!
  2. Hi Keira, I like the idea that you were able to set aside a table so you can have dinner with your guests. I have around 25-30 guests, do you think they will set aside a little section for me? And did you arranged that with you WP? or the people at the buffet restaurant? Thanks! I asked to have a table set aside at the buffet for everyone to meet at 6. They had no issues with that. Rest of the week we all did our own things. People wanted to do different excursions and try different a la cartes so it was just easier to have everyone do their own thing.
  3. Hi swankster, Thanks for the info! So we are allowed to hire DJ outside the resort? How much does Bijan cost? Thanks! 4. PaperBagPrincess, why not use a ribbon instead? You can find numerous gorgeous ribbons at Michael's! I bought some that actually say "Tied the knot" and "Happily Ever After", they are very cute!! Quote: Originally Posted by PaperBagPrincess I'll have to look for those. 5. wow, you are certainly very crafty!! I like your DIY ideas very much! great job!
  6. Thanks for sharing, what a great deal with your dress!! I love the floating candle as well, looks gorgeous!!!
  7. Hi, the time is clicking and my stress level is getting higher and higher..... I have a relatively small group of 25-29 people only, would that be kind of weird to do a pool side reception after dinner? And does it really worth hiring a DJ for that?
  8. Sorry this is really off track but I want you to know I absolutely LOVE your logo!!! Quote: Originally Posted by bride2010 THANK YOU!!! Michael's doesn't have coupons this week, so I'm definitely on the lookout for the next ones they send on email and I'm off to buy my supplies! Thanks again!
  9. The calla lily are my favorite too!! I found some at Michael's and the size is perfect!! The only thing is the colour, do you find it's a little too plain? Any suggestion to "touch up" a little? I think it was $3.49 a stem, and I didn't use a coupon for that one because I just bought one to try some other things out for all the Aunts... Also, don't know if I mentioned it before but my FI and I are both from NS!!! Only been living in Calgary for 2 1/2 years, and I miss NS desperately, especially since we've had the baby! Might have mentioned it to you before though! lol Hope this helps!! Glad to hear everyone is trying them, they are pretty easy!! Good Luck, when I figure out what I'm doing with the calla lily's I'll post those pics too! )
  10. Hi swankster77! Thanks for your suggestion, I have to agree it is a better arrangement to plan the poolside reception after the dinner! I'm sure there will be a lot less people at the pool at that time! So are you planning on going to the club/disco after the reception as well? When do you arrive? My ceremony is at 4pm at the Tulum, maybe you can come take a quick look and have an idea on how your wedding going to look like! Quote: Originally Posted by swankster77 My wedding is just 3 days after yours also at the Tulum location!! I have decided to have the poolside reception/dance. Our ceremony is at 4 and then dinner is at 6:30. Between the 2 I'm just going to direct people to have some drinks at the lobby bar while we finish up with pictures. Our dance doesn't start until 8:00 so I'm hoping it's cooled off a bit by then! Hopefully the sun will be setting and that should cool it off. I agree that keeping people out in the hot sun for hours while dressed up is probably not the best idea! What time of day is your ceremony scheduled? Did you schedule a dinner time/location yet? I think those 2 things will have to factor in on your decision...
  11. That's an awesome idea!! How well did the walkie-talkie worked within the resort? Quote: Originally Posted by swankster77 You bring up a very good point... I didn't think about that. 12. Hello! My wedding date is on June 9th 2010 at the Tulum site. I'm thinking of having a pool side reception after the ceremony, not sure if that's a good idea yet so I really want some inputs! Do you think it's going to be too hot to stay outside for another hour or 2 after the ceremony? Is the pool side reception actually a good idea? or people just go directly to dinner reception right after the ceremony? Thanks in advance, I'd really appreciated your help!!!
