Well our travel agent is from Itravel so to check the prices we would just go onto their website and it lists all the differnet tour operators and their prices listed from highest to lowest so when we checked we saw that Air Canada had an ever better price then what Air Transat had, even though it was down $150 from what we were quoted. I never had to personally call Air Transat myself as my travel agent did it all for us, so I have no idea who you would need to contact. I'm trying to think of how I could help you out with this though. I saw your wedding isn't until May. We're leaving January and the price dropped around Thanksgiving sometime and by the time it was all sorted out it was very near to, if not the start of November. So you're still more than 2/3 months out. We locked in our prices in May and they never budged once until Late September/ Early October and it was nothing significant, like $50pp. I know it's so hard and you want a better price now because that's what you had been told the whole time, but I really think your price will drop. I don't see it happening until at least the New Year though because no one's really thinking about vacation for that time of year right now with the holidays. Once Feb/March comes around people will start thinking about getting away and I think you'll start to see the deals then As for you getting every 21st person free, I would defiantly try to contact someone about that one. How can they offer someone else a different number!!. And it's even more bizzare because they can't say anything like oh it's the destination location because we are both going to the same resort! I would try and get them to lower that one for you! The only reason I can think mine would be lower is that since I booked so early but it was for 2011 the packages weren't out for the year yet so maybe they assumed that the 16th person free would remain the same but then it did in fact change but since I already had my contract with them they had to honour it for me. No we had to keep on top of it ourselves and it was so stressful and draining because everyday I would be checking the prices! lol...I totally feel you on not being impressed with Transat. Sunwing had a rate $75pp extra when we got our quotes and thats why we went with Transat but I'm starting to think maybe it was worth it! But who knows maybe sunwing brides wish they were with Transat lol. How I got the drop was I don't know if you already have your quotes and prices locked in but I made Transat and Sunwing get into a bidding war over us and I said I wanted a price protection and whoever could give it to me I would go with them. Sunwing wouldn't do it but was going to give me every 11th person free but Transat would give me the protection but would give me every 16th person free. We only thought about 20 people max would come and it would be better to get the price guarntee instead...turns out we have 27 and it would have been better to go with Sunwing for us personally as we would have gotten both of our vacations for free instead of one but it works out better for our guests in the end because they all saved money...we're happy they're happy. Anyways...sorry got totally got off topic there...so I watched the price and when it went down there was an AirCanada Vacations package that was like $15 lower and I told my travel agent to complain that I wanted it to match that price because Transat totally screwwed me over a few weeks earlier. I was supposed to have a block of 20 reserved under our name and people we're booking slower than they wanted to so they called me at like 1pm 2 1/2 weeks before the payment deadline and said you have until the end of the business day to get all your spots booked or else we're realeasing the vacation because we don't think you're going to fill the spots and Januarys a high time for travelling and we want to sell them. So that was like the worst day of my life ever but I managed to book them PLUS 7 extra so I told her to complain that they put me under the gun and I brought in additonal seats then what I reserved and they better pay it forward. She said she fought with them for a bit over it but they said fine we'll make it an even $200 then and they upgraded us to the royal golden section. So honestly if you've had a hard time with them like I have call or get your TA to and complain! If you do it enough they are bound to do something for you! Hope it works out for you and if your booking deadline has come and gone already then you know what a relief it is for that part of the planning to be over with...it's like a huuge weight off your shoulder, all you have to do is wait for the date after that! If it hasn't hang in there! I know it's hard and stressful but you'll have 43 people with you to celebrate when all is said and done! (sorry it was so long, it was my rant that I never got to have about how upset I was with Transat! lol)

everyone is going from Toronto so I don't have eastern or western, but we were originally quoted 1606 txs included and locked in on that price because we were given a price guarantee that we could change it if the price dropped. It was good until up to 60 days before departure and with like less than a week to go the price dropped like $150 and the tour operator (transat) was nice and gave up $200 off so everyone ended up paying 1406pp! But as for not feeling like you got a deal I feel the same as you. Transat only gave us the extra $50 pp off because I complained saying what was the point in getting everyone to book with your company when I can get that same price from say Air Canada which I'd rather fly with anyways because I find their planes bigger and has more amenities (I loooove the personal TV's!!) so thats why they beat the best price online, which with about 40 days to go until we leave is still the best published price....so whoever you go with fight them for the best price you can get!! On another note....I know this is a random question but has anyone found out about how long it takes to walk down the aisle because it looks long and I want to make sure my ceremony songs will be long enough, plus I want a seperate one from the rest of the bridal party so I'd like it to run smoothly!

Hi Ashley here is the spas email [email protected] I'm kind of worried now too because I'm getting married in January and am only about to contact them now to book an apppointment...heres hoping! lol Also just an fyi ladies: For some reason I wanted to make sure I could put the wedding on my credit card because I don't want to bring down all of that cash with me so I double checked with Beverly and she said you can BUT the ministers fees have to be paid in cash so I just thought I'd let you all know just incase you were planning on doing the same thing I was! It would have really sucked to get down there and have to scramble around to get the money together or give it to them out of my spending money! Only 50 days until my wedding! I'm so excited but still have quite a bit to do!

I just had mine recently, and oh boy do I agree about the stress of it! It is worth it in the end though so ladies I suggest you have one if you can. It's a ton of fun and just like lyndsay_h said, it's a great way to have a big party before you get married and see everyone without having to do a seperate ahr afterwards. We specifaclly had ours with that in mind so making the money was just a bonus!

I have thought so hard about this and definatly want to get them something but I just have no idea what! I was going to get them something wedding related like jewlery to wear, but I just found out my moh went out and bought some. I guess I'll have to see what they dont get for Christmas lol!

I don't see why some people feel you can't have an uneven wedding party. I have my sister and best friend and my fiance has his best friend. We think this is fine but my grandmother and mother keep insisting we get another groomsman but really whats the big deal? I don't understand it and we are leaving it the way it is.

My dad said he would pay for half of my dress but then my sister was in a bad finacial situation so the money for my half of the dress went to her. Luckily I didn't go overboard and buy a super expensive dress!

I sent mine out around April and we are getting married Jan 2011. I think the earlier the better because right away you start getting rough feedback from everyone on if they are thinking about coming, definatly coming, or aren't. It helps you to start to plan the actual wedding because you can kind of guess a rough estimate of people, even before you send out the actual invites. As for what type of std to do I agree with wilsonj2, keep it easy and stress free for the save the dates...I made magnets so people could keep them on their fridge as a reminder. Really basic with our picture where and when we were going and thats about it! Save your creativity for your invites! Hope that helps!

where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday I was looking through this website going aw look how close they are to their date...now its our turn! Still I feel like I have so much to do. We still don't have an exact guest count! Are you guys all pretty much ready to go? Know how many guests are going got all your oot bags ready and everything else?

wow girls...I've been MIA for a while now because I've been super busy at work then enjoying the summer when I wasn't working. I've missed quite a bit!  First off tris that really sucks about your date. I know there was a while when I was only getting emails from the assistant and then when I did hear from beverly herself she ahd no clue about anything me and her assistant said. I know its long distance but honestly to all you girls who are super worried (dont worry I was so there) I would give her a call.  Waiting for the emails sucked, I was getting frsutrated and my travel agent knew I wasn't going to book anything until I heard my wedding date was confirmed so she got in contact with her and told Beverly to call me. Within 5 minutes I was talking to her and every question I had was answered and basically here's what she said:  Yes we have you date confirmed and although it says you have to give us a deposit, I assure you your date is secure and we wont charge your card until you're down here. They have lots of brides securing dates and there computer system is so slow (I waited 5 minutes for her computer to load my file) so that's why it takes her so long to reply sometimes. Between actual weddings going on and communicating with the slow computer to future brides, there is no time to charge the deposits.  Trust me I still get annoyed when I wait 3 weeks to hear back from her, but just speaking to her on the phone I could tell she is a very nice person who is willing to do whatever to make you happy on your big day, so I'm trying to cut her some slack and be more patient or just not even email her at all because half the time it's no problem man, we'll do it once your here. lol  Well its good to be back and hopefully I'll be around more often now and congrats Susann'Dean your time is sooo soon, you must be getting so excited!!!! Â

Ok so now I'm super confused....I haven't heard about needing this stuff...just a long form birth certificate with your fathers name on it. Am I missing something?

I guess I'm lucky because one of my friends is a make up artist so shes doing it as her gift to me but as for hair I'm in the same boat as you guys hoping they do a good job, but I'm not too worrid because I don't want an updo and those are probably eaiser to make you look stupid with lol.

Don't they give you some other kind of form for proof of your marriage so you can change your name once you get back home?

we're allowed to bring 2 suitcases normally? lol...any time ive ever travelld its been one carry on and one checked bag no mroe than 20kg...im definatly going to look into if we get an extra allowance though! Do you know if it's extra in the one suitcase or if it can be divided between 2 so like 2 15kg bags...thanks for lettimg me know about this
