  1. This thread is to get all Moon Palace Brides - past, present, and future - to share the questions that you sent to your WC. The purpose is two-fold: To make a comprehensive list of questions that you have asked, you need ask, you wish you would have asked...you get the idea. There are so many creative minds on this forum, I'd hate to go away thinking, "I should have asked about that," when I'm at the resort and it's obviously too late. The other reason is so that those of us who are still in the planning stages can just put all of our applicable questions on one email to the WC, instead of having a lot of back-and-forth messenging. Maybe getting the questions list all up front will free up some time for them, and they can respond to us much quicker. (It seems that a lot of us have experienced some level of frustration with some WCs being slothful about responding.) I am asking everyone to copy and paste their questions. I'm not sure if including the answers is a good idea, since things seem to change regularly. Additionally, many past brides have stated that when it came time to finalize the bill, the email dialogue between them and their WC saved some time and expense. I am posting this link on threads for MP 2008-2011 brides. Thanks for contributing!
  2. Tiffani, I saw your review. You looked stunning! Thanks so much for the detailed review, especially about the hair. I was concerned about their abilities with African American hair. I'm tempted to work extra shifts just to be able to bring my hairstylist.
  3. Being the product of a blended family and having 3 daughters who may also face your situation later in life, here is my perspective: I agree with the girls - explain to him that you envisioned something different for your ceremony. It's up to you whether or not you'd like to go into detail. I think that the father-daughter dance, however, is a good compromise. It will only cost you a few minutes of your time but it will give him a great memory to hold on to. Who knows, if you keep an open heart about it, this dance could be the very thing to facilitate a closer relationship between the two of you down the line. I've learned as an adult that there are two sides to every story. Even though your mother has earned your loyalty, you may want to hear his side too (eventually). You never know the mindset of a person until you at least give them a voice. Even if he was a rotten apple back then, he may have changed. After my son died 2 years ago at the age of 11, I have decided to live my life with no regrets and create the best memories that I can in the time that I have (even if they are for someone else). I'd like to pass that same mantra on to you. Give him the dance. What have you got to lose?
  4. No, I hadn't heard of that one but I will investigate. I was told that the downside to Latisse is that once you stop using it, your new growth lashes do fall out.
  5. Hi Brides, I was wondering if anyone has had any success with Latisse, the product that is currently being pitched by Brooke Shields. Would you mind posting pics as well as feedback? It's pretty expensive, so I'm sure that there are some brides who'd like to know if it's worth the investment.
  6. That's what I LOVE about this forum! So many great ideas that I wouldn't have considered. This is the perfect solution for me - I'm an RN and I can't get acrylics. I really like the french tip look even though Bubble Bath has been officially my favorite OPI color for months! (I take my own bottle to the salon with me.) I will definitely be on the lookout for a spot in L.A. to get this done!
  7. Thanks for this thread. I was planning to do a set of MAC falsies after a failed attempt with Latisse. (I kept forgetting to put the stuff on every night.) I have also had the individual lashes put on by a professional. I LOVED the look but hated when my own lashes fell out with them. They only last about a week and require meticulous maintenance. I will definitely do a trial run of the extensions!!! I'm excited about not having to check the mirror every 20 minutes to see if I'm missing a chunk of lash. Thanks, Ladies. 'Sounds like extensions are the way to go!
  8. I would LOVE to find someone in the Cancun area (preferably from MAC) to come to the resort to do my make-up. Believe it or not, I was considering flying in a MAC make-up artist from Atlanta. Buying a resort day pass beats the heck out of paying for a vacation for someone who I don't really know. Exception: the photographer - the photos are just too darn important!

  10. Peterpanpixiedust and I would work well together. She'll be in Cancun early and we're staying about at least a week after our wedding. I'd be more than happy to do a physical hand-off. Could someone please pencil us in?

The have a ton of very nice (and inexpensive) ties, cufflinks, etc.
  12. You've got real talent, Sister! The vow cards are especially impressive. Where did you get the embossing tool? I really makes your cards look rich.
  13. Fantastic job - they look so professional! I love the background artwork. Is there a template for this? To piggyback off of Thomasjsgirl: 98 people!?!?! What's your secret? You go, Girl!
  14. Has anyone ordered from Say Yes to the Dress! Bridal Dress, Designer Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Celebrity Evening Dress, Oscar Inspired Dress
  15. If you look closely at the back of the dress, it doesn't look like it's completely zipped which is why it may appear crooked. I'll bet it snaps into the dress near the top of the zipper. The dress has the potential to be perfect for a TTD, please post the finish product!
  16. Nicyx: LOVE these shoes! Any purchasing info available Michelle: I know how disappointed you must be, but when it's all over and the pictures are circulating, they'll all be sorry. My FI and I made a pact when we decided to have a DW that the only thing that mattered was that we were there, in a beautiful setting, to become one. If anyone else chose to show up, we would consider it a bonus. Keep your head up!
  17. Is it too early to put in a bid for the starfish for a 2011 wedding?
  18. I've read on here that a many brides found the plastic on ebay. Here is a link that I found for you: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-holder-56453/ If you can't open it, go to the DIY forum or the OOT bag forum; once the thread is open, click on "Search this thread" and a drop box will appear, then type in "key card holder". I have a template I can email you if you need one.
  19. Lots of brides have used the website that Tracy posted. Don't forget to check the forum's link on items for sale. Many brides buy too much and put them on this forum for cheap.
  20. That dress is gorgeous, but too small for me. Good luck with the sale!
  21. Welcome! Have you consulted a travel agent to help you? Mine is totally amazing. Once I gave her a list of what our "need to have"s and our "nice to have"s, she gave me a list of resorts with website links within a week. I'll be happy to share her info if you'd like. Having a short list really helps; from there, you can see what the brides on here have to say about each resort. It may save you some time- and perhaps frustration. I hope that this helps! Congrats and Happy Planning!
