  1. So my FI proposed about 3 months ago. He gave me a white gold ring. I noticed last month that the ring was already turning gold on the bottom. I took it in finally this week and the lady told me that the chemicals in my skin must be changing it faster than normal. Im not sure I believe it. I am a physical therapist and do use/wash/lotion my hands alot, but should it cause my ring to turn this fast? They are dippping it in irrodium (sp?) to change it back to white gold. They said they would do that as often as needed but that is super annoying and a pain. Has this happened to anyone else??
  2. We are running into the same problem too. One of my friends called the other day and asked if she and her bf could book off of travelocity because it was cheaper. I checked and it was $30 cheaper! I didnt think it was that much of a price difference so I told her no! I felt sorta bad. I hope other people dont start looking at that too. We emailed everyone the reservation form right away so most didnt even think of it. We keep checking kayak.com for the cheapest flights and emailing about any deals. Not sure if we should have just went with a travel agent to make it easier.
  3. You are not a bad bride! I think alot of dw brides go through this. both my family and my fiances had to put all their complaints in right away when we planned our wedding. This is too expensive, this date doesnt work, etc. Finally my mom got excited when other family members and some of her friends got excited about it and thought it was a great idea. You just have to do what YOU want to do. There is no way you can make everyone happy. And even if you do they would find something else to complain about!!!
  4. there are many different companies that make them now. Polaroid has a nice small one and I think fuji does too. I started a thread the other day titled "alternative guest book". I dont know how to link it here but you can search it. There is a link there for the fuji camera. they are pretty reasonably priced and much easier than the old ones. You can also get a smal photo printer for your digital camera that works the same way.

  6. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Trust your instinct.

  8. Yeah it looks that way. Look at the bottom of your proposal and it says "included tips". I hope we dont have to tip anymore!!

  10. so the books go for 50. I think the website you have is the best bet, unless you can bid cheaper!

Im wondering if it would be cheaper to buy it all seperately. Im searching for the book but I cant find it..yet.
  12. I 100% have to get the firedancers!!! The price isnt that bad compared to bands and other entertainment! Is it worth getting the drummers??
  13. My fiance got an email today from his good friend saying that him and his (former) fiance have called off their wedding. The wedding was suppossed to take place on a cruise in 2 weeks! I feel completely bad for them but now we are all in this situation where we wouldnt have gone on the cruise if it wasnt for the wedding (we arent a huge fan of cruises). So the couple decided that his family and friends will still go on the cruise and hers will stay home. I guess she moved out a couple of weeks ago but they didnt tell anyone until now. Tonight my fiance is on his friend's re-bachelor party. What a bad (and weird) situation.
  14. Anna- that is hilarious! I didnt even think of that! People at the wedding would for sure do that as both of our families and friends can definately get out of hand....especially with an open bar. There is a new poloroid out that looks like a digital camera but somehow prints out of it. and its inkless Im not sure how that works.
  15. Has anyone done or doing a photo guest book? I am looking at buying a poloroid camera, letting the guests take pictures of themselves and then having them write a message in a book with their pics. Does anyone have this kind of camera? how long does the battery last, how do the pics turn out, etc? Any advice, suggestions would be appreciated!!
  16. welcome darci! I am getting married on november 21st in PV! We arent going with a band though..just a DJ
  17. we are getting legally married at home first. Only our families know. the way we look at it is that its just the paperwork, we arent really married until we say "I do" in front of our families, friends, and the big guy above!!
  18. we chose it because we have stayed there before and loved it. the food, service, rooms, view, and whole atmosphere is very good. It also allowed us to give people 4 different room options depending on what they wanted to spend.
  19. The food was drastically better at PV! We were really disappointed with Villamagna. Much better buffet, great food and atmosphere at seaside (its more of a dinner restaurant at PV rather than the lunch spot by the pool), etc. We actually talked to the new head chef at villamagna about the food (it was a cocktail hour thing with him). He was talking about correcting all the issues they were having. They have had a huge turnover in head chefs/manager since they opened. I think he said they had like 3-4 changes in a year. So maybe the food will change. Melissa

  21. I have stayed at both resorts. My FI and I got engaged at villamagna but stayed at PV the year before. this is how I felt about each...I liked villamagna for the open beach, pools, and the rooftop sushi bar. didnt care for the distance to go into town, the food, and the setup of the bathroom(although many people love it!) I loved PV for the food, the isolated beach, the staff, the rooms, and the quick distance into town (we went multiple times that trip). Even though I loved the beach I didnt like the fact that I couldnt walk down the beach to explore. In the end we chose PV for our guests to stay (we are getting married at las caletas) because of the multiple room options and the food. Check out both of the forums on here. You wont go wrong with either place you choose.
  22. We are doing our legal paperwork before we leave for PV. We arent telling anyone when the date is(we really dont know when anyway right now). When we have the ceremony in PV it will be the "real" ceremony before our friends and family.
  23. Hi Tiffany- Im from Chicago too. My fiance and I are getting married in PV in November and we are having our guests stay at Dreams (we are getting married at las caletas). Ive stayed at both dreams PV and villamagna. Let me know if you have any questions! this forum is the best.they have such great ideas. melissa
  24. We have about 40 people booked for our november wedding. We emailed the reservation forms out to everyone and also noted that their are multiple other weddings at the resort and they need to book now! It worked for most of our guests. we will probably have about 15-20 more book closer to the date.
