  1. We are using Moments that Matter! They seem really helpful with all of the questions I ask. It sucks that the resort charges a $500 outsie vendor fee for them since they are not on the "approved list."

Not necessarily something I agree with, but it's something that we've settled upon to appease him and his fam. Although, with the hassle of the paperwork and classes involved, I am ready to throw my hands in the air and say "forget about the Catholic wedding." I believe you are just as married to one another and that God can bless your marriage whether you are married outside or inside a church as long as you are doing it with love in your hearts. Off my soapbox...... ;-) Just remember there is always going to be some kind of minor (or major) hiccup, so have fun and be true to yourself. I think we all get a little caught up in the details, and forget that planning a wedding should be fun! I know I am very guilty of this! And of course venting your frustrations is always a good thing. No need to carry the weight!!!
  3. When we were there in October of last year, I too was surprised by the sand bags, but they really only affect part of the beach. There are several areas, especially down by the casitas, that have few or none at all. And yes you can get in the water and still have a good time. I saw several people actually snorkeling around the bags, and they did not look too bothered. Also a lot people would just sit on the beach in the water. If you are looking for an area that will not have sandbags in your pictures, then choose Gazebo 55 or the Presidential Gazebo. There is also one down by the Casitas, but I can't remember the name.
  4. It looks very nice, and the music makes it great! I may have to upload music to ours now!
  5. We are doing stainless steel shakers (8 or 16 oz haven't decided yet) with tequila and margarita mix inside!
  6. I think it comes down to what you feel comfortable doing. I got really excited about the OOT bags when I first read about them, but then I took a deep breath and realized the expense involved to put them together the way i would have wanted. So we decided to do koozies at the departure party my MOH is giving, and nice stainless steel shakers with tequila and margarita mix inside for favors. Whatever your decision is just be sure to remember your budget and to have fun with it. Good Luck!

I'm supposed to have a call setup with Valeria next week, so hopefully we'll have some things ironed out by then. I really would've loved to have gotten married on the beach--that's why I was so excited about the glass chapel at the Gran Caribe, but my FI is very Catholic, so here we are. El Dorado Royale has several locations that are on the beach. Maybe you can ask them which ones are available so that you can get married on the beach. When were there we looked at all of them, but Baglover21 is right about Gazebo 55 being the best. We picked it as well. The chapel is pretty too, but it is very enclosed compared to what you are describing at the other resort, and the altar actually does not face the beach. Only the doors leading in and out of it face the water. Hope this helps!
  8. The bathrooms in the regular rooms are very nice and spacious. They have a walk in shower that is gigantic. I was actually really impressed with them. Ane there is a big soaking tub in the room by the patio, which was kind of different, but we never really used it when we were there. Hope this helps!
  9. This site was posted in another thread and has a large variety of travel items. Minimus.biz - for all your travel size needs
  10. I love both your gift ideas, but I have to agree with Thomasjsgirl on the practicality issue. The jewelry box is more universal as well as classic. Also like a few previous comments said that the glasses may be hard to travel with.
  11. Congrats and welcome! You will find so much useful info here!
  12. Thanks for the review! It makes me feel better about some of the little stuff I am stressing about right now!
  13. These are really great! Do you remember where in the forum you found the idea for your welcome book - it is awesome? Also it would be great because it already has the EDR map in it!
  14. Congrats! I am getting married there too in October. It is a beautiful place, and you will find tons of info on the forum. Good Luck!
  15. Oh my goodness! Your really thought of everything! It is all fantastic!
  16. These are awesome! I was looking for something for our guests to let them know about the trip they RSVPd! Thanks for sharing!
  17. Hi Everyone! I am thinking about doing the Mexican Donkey Bar. If there is anyone who did have this and could give a little info on it that would be great! Thanks.
