  1. Congratulations and welcome! Cabo seems like a beautiful DW location. Have fun planning!
  2. Wow! That's a big group! Actually I'm curious to see if anyone has some advise on large group negociations since the Royal PDC is in my top picks and we're looking into having a double and possibly quadruple wedding with my FI's 3 brothers which would mean a very large group as well... Welcome the the forum!
  3. Hi Jenny, Congratulations and welcome! It's my first forum experience as well so I know the feeling. There's such a plethora of information shared here that it can be overwhelming. But you'll find people here really helpful & welcoming. Have fun planning!
  4. Indeed chosing your destination is mind boggling! Lists of must have and don't want will help and once you've norrowed it down to the country/region check out BDW forums as well as Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor for traveller reviews. Have fun planning your DW!
  5. I found a website with several maps which were mentioned/featured in this forum: maps playa del carmen quintana roo riviera maya map Great idea to include in OOT bags and invitations!
  6. Congratulations! Looking forward to reading more about how it went and your planning...
  7. Salut les filles! I'm from Brossard and I'm happy to see other Montreal brides here. Gosh there's so much to read it's incredible... I have to discipline myself to stop reading and go to bed! Anyone else addicted to BDW Who's getting married in the Riviera Maya? PetitRouge, which resort have you chosen? I really look forward to chating with you all! Brigitte
  8. Congratulations! Hope to see some pics soon!
  9. I'm also looking into Mtl TA's. Right now I've only contacted one TA to start with since she works for a GF of mine who happens to be an event planner and owns the company. I know how meticulous she is in planning events so I trust that her staff works the same way. So far I have to say she really knows the Cancun/Riviera Maya area well so that's helps in making a final choice of resort. Group open skies I like the idea of getting Airmiles w/ Club Voyage (Thanks RonNMel!) and our families are also mainly French-speaking so it's important to us as well. I've found a few names also in some local wedding magazines (WeddingBells, Mariage Québec and Elegant Wedding). I plan on checking some TAs at the Salon Marions Nous (Jan. 9-10). One name that keeps coming back in these magazines is Helena Travel Helena Travel But I have no references. I'll let you know when I've booked my TA.

  17. Have you thought about having your guests stay in an AI and then host your wedding at an offsite location such as a hacienda as metnioned before? I'm in a similar situation as you with potentially lots of guests (over 100). Let us know how your DW planning is coming along...
  18. I smiled in relief when I read your post! I feel a little less "guilty" for staying up 'til the wee hours of the morning going through BDW forums, knowing you gals are on here too.
  19. I'm with ChristinaP... Total MAC addict myself and so I thought I'd have to forget about getting my make-up done in Mexico. So thank you Afrommert for giving me hope and references PDC! :-D
  20. Wow! That's a really great idea. Martha Stewart's web site is filled with DIY. Another useful DIY site for crafty BTB is DIY Bride?
  21. Wow! I'm glad this forum is up... I had no idea it was so complicated (with the blood tests and all). Now I'm thinking of quietly getting a legal mariage license in Canada just before we leave. Thanks for the advice ladies!
  22. Welcome to BDW and happy planning! As a newbie myself I found the list of acronyms quite useful... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...acronyms-2690/
