We booked the oceanfront suite, I didn't realize at the time that it would be part of the preferred club. I was lucky because all of our guests were in the building right beside ours. So it worked out great. I am so glad we splurged on the suite, was a treat for us and also gave the girls lots of room to get ready. The day after the wedding, we got away from our guests and spent the afternoon in the preferred club pool. It was nice to get away from all the partying and have some "us" time. I would recommend getting a suite. Nice to feel a little more pampered then the usual vacations. -

Nadia, The entertainment is great. I have been to many resorts over the past years and this resort has the best shows in the evenings. They also have entertainment all day at the pools and on the beach. For some reason, they always manage to get tons of people to join in. The entertainment staff are very friendly and have great senses of humor. My fave's were "Coca Cola", "Picasso", "Chocolate" and "J.C". They all have fun names and are all about pleasing the tourists. Just take one look at Coca Cola and you will be joining all his classes. LOL, I'm married, not dead!!! -

LOL -- I wanted to know how the entertainment was overall and if there was a "circus night?" Thanks and congrats again!! Hi Nadia, Funny question, but yes there was a Circus night, however, it was the same night as our wedding so I didn't see that show. I was busy!! It was a Monday. I don't know if they do the same shows by weekdays. eg: every Monday is Circus night. Every day we would get a flyer in our room with all the events for the following day. Flowersfizz28, I would ABSOLUTELY choose the pier for your dinner. I wish I could have done that but my party was too big. When I stayed at this resort 10 years ago, I watched a wedding ceremony on the pier, it was beautiful and that is the reason I chose this resort for our wedding. -

I don't mind so much people watching....just don't want them in my view in a speedo or anything. lol Good luck to all you gurls who are coming up!!!!! =) Hi Gem, Sorry to take so long to get back. I haven't been on line in a few days. Still catching up on life since I was away. The beach wedding is near the east side of the beach, almost at the end of the resort. I for some reason thought it was going to be the other direction but the coast at the west side of resort is rocky. Anyway, they put up the yellow caution tape around the area so people can't get too close. They kindly asked any sunbathers to move as far away as possible. I didn't notice anyone staring, I am sure some people were watching but I was so into my wedding ceremony that I didn't notice. I asked my guests if there were any nosey neighbors and they all said they didn't see anyone. So I think it is safe to say that MOST people respect your privacy. People that did glance over were just watching the happy moment. During the walk from my room to the ceremony, there were quite a few people who smiled and took pictures. Everyone seemed extremely thrilled to be seeing a bridal party. The gazebo is beautiful, I watched a few weddings from my suite overlooking it. I am not sure if the gazebo or the beach is the better choice. I liked the beach for myself because as soon as the ceremony was over, we took pictures right there on the beach with the sun setting and we went right into the water with our dresses on. You wouldn't be able to do that at the gazebo, you would have to walk abit to the beach area to go into the water. Amy put her dress on the day after her wedding and took pictures in the water with her dress on. So there are so many options. Basically, anything goes. Tiara and Yanna will make it beautiful no matter what you choose. -

Hi Ladies, We returned Wednesday from our wedding at Dreams La Romana. We had a much more uncomplicated wedding than most of you are planning but hopefully my experience will help for you future brides. First of all I have to say.... don’t listen to any negative reviews on Trip Advisor because you have nothing to worry about. The resort is the best I have ever been to and Dan and I have been going to all inclusive resorts every year for the past 10 years. In fact, we chose this one for our wedding as we had gone to this resort 10 years ago when it was a 4 and a half star called Casa Del Mar. It is even better now. Our group of 25 had a fabulous time and I didn’t hear one complaint about anything. The rooms were great; my guests were all in building 5. Dan and I had the Ocean front suite in the preferred club, building 7, beautiful, totally worth the extra money. The wedding: We had a meeting the day after arrival with Yanna. She is an absolute delight. Yanna, pronounced Janna, was extremely confident and was on top of all my plans even the emails from 4 months ago. So I did not need to bring any printed emails or price quotes. She had it all there. There were no discrepancies in prices or confirmation of requests, everything I was promised on email was ready for us. Yanna walked us to the beach and showed us exactly where we would walk down the aisle and where the guests would be. We did not have a rehearsal, I didn’t think we needed one and we didn’t really want to waste good vacation time doing a run through. I didn’t think about the wedding until the day of, we were all having such a great time enjoying the ocean and pool and all the entertainment. The only thing I had to remember was to put my dress and the grooms clothes on the bed the day before the wedding. They were taken and returned wrinkle free that same afternoon. I have thick curly hair and figured the hair salon was not going to have any better luck than myself at taming it in the humidity so I chose not to use the hair salon. I am happy to say that a big handful of styling mousse and a rhinestone hair band did the trick. Took me less than 15 minutes to do my own hair and makeup and I was pleased with the results. So unfortunately, I don’t have any feedback on the salon. We did our ceremony on the beach, we chose the floral archway, and it was beautiful, exactly like the pictures Tiara and Yanna sent via email. There is also another archway made out of palms, it is also beautiful. They can make them into huge heart shape arches. I almost went with that, I had a really hard time choosing as they are both so pretty. I also had the a white and red rose bouquet in fresh flowers. The bouquet arrived the afternoon of the wedding in lots of time for pictures before the ceremony. Our reception was at the SSG, outside on the deck, we even used the deck as the dance floor. You would have to watch if you have spike heels if you choose this option. We rented the entire restaurant so we could have danced up on the tiled floor but being such a small party of only 25, it all fit perfectly on the deck part. We brought our own Bose iPod dock and played our own music. Worked out great. The food was awesome and the servers were fantastic. The only blip in our day was with the dessert, we had booked a sundae bar for dessert instead of picking a dessert off the menu. When dessert time came they passed out apple cobbler with ice cream. We kind of looked down and thought huh?? Then said to each other “oh well?†“Wonder what happened?†We really didn’t give it another thought. We were all so full by that time and looking forward to the dance. We also bought an extra pound of cake, it was not necessary. Less than half was touched. The cake was great. It was very moist. We had chocolate. All our guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. They all said it was so laid back and fun, they really enjoyed themselves. I will try to figure out how to post pictures and get some on this weekend. I hope this review helps. Keep in mind ladies that you have a beautiful ocean and beach as your backdrop. Extra decorations are really not necessary. When you look at everyone’s pictures, they are all pictures taken on the beach. Not in front of decorations. The other thing to remember is the humidity and your hair.... I spent a few weeks before trying all different brands of styling gels and mousse to find one that would control frizzy humidity hair. Send me any questions you may have. I will try to answer them for you. Amy; It was so nice meeting you Amy. I watched your wedding from the balcony of my room. It was beautiful. You had some really fun guests at your wedding. I met some in the pool drinking shooters. LOL. Thanks for the "Bride to Be" sash. That was really sweet of you to pass it along. -

I have sent a few emails to Yanna and Tiara lately as my date is getting close, May 3, and I have received responses same day or day after. I send to both of their emails at the same time. One of my email's both Tiara and Yanna responded separately within four hours. I paid about 400.00 for the Bose (mobile) ipod dock at Future shop. You can buy an ipod for just over 100.00 these days. I think it was worth it because you will have it after and you also have control over your music. You also don't have to deal with a spanish speaking DJ if you don't speak the language. -

Wow, I think everyone is in a panic now. I am leaving in 17 days, but I am having a fairly simple wedding. Especially after hearing all the extras Bridget had. I am having a small ceremony on the beach, with the natural arch. Having the dinner/reception at the SSG. Bringing my ipod dock with our own music. My biggest request was to have a sundae bar instead of the dessert. I am even bringing my own photographer. I am planning on having a great vacation in the sun and a small classy beach wedding with very little stress : ) Best wishes to everyone and your planning. -

I am going to email her back and list ALL the plans I have made up to date so she has one list to go with when I arrive in 20 days!!!! Hopefully, she will email back with confirmation of everything so I only have to deal with one email. Hope everyone's plans are going smoothly. -

Thanks, I will only need enough chairs for the guests at the ceremony then. We are having the reception at the SSG. I think I have everything planned now. 23 days until we leave. I'm so excited. -

Hello ladies, This might be a really dumb question but here goes... for the ceremony, do we order chairs for the wedding party as well as the guests or just the guests? I am trying to to a price total and not sure how many chairs I will need. I am now down to days on my countdown... Soo excited!!
