Question: Are you girls buying all this makeup b/c you're going to do it yourself the day of? You've got me thinking I need to get on this! AmyKH, I'll try your suggestion about the pic and see what I get. I'm trying to paste directly from the web without going through an storage site like photobucket but I think I'm technology challenged. It's weird b/c I can see it on here but no one else can!

I mean, I realize that is the point of bikinis but typically i would wear a halter style and prefer something closer to boy-cut bottoms than anything! Eek! Haha I can relate to being out of our comfort zones! I have fairly large girls and would normally wear a halter top to support them. This is going to be veeeery interesting wearing a strapless top for a couple days! Don't get me wrong, I'm not ecstatic to be strutting around in my bikini all the time or anything - I'm as self-conscious as the next girl - but every woman loves to have new clothes to show off!! I'm with you on this! I already have 3 bathing suits that I like and bought 3 more already. And I'm trying really hard not to buy more! I do need at least one more, a strapless one to wear the first couple days I'm there so as to not get tan lines before the ceremony. The way I look at it, we're the center of attention so if we want a different bathing suit every day then that's what we should have!!

Amyb, it's probably time that I learned to post pictures on here so that I can show you the look I've chosen! I just came across it months ago when I was looking up hair styles. It's a picture of Hayden Penetierre (sp?). It's a fresh clean look. I'll bring the picture with me but I'll mostly be leaving it up to the makeup artist. Since I'm getting a trial done, I feel safe doing that way...no surprises or redos the day of!

Personally, I think it should be that way everywhere. I mean, so many people have spring vacations that it seems like a no-brainer to me, but I'm not the one running the clothing stores! I'm not from Texas originally (I'm a Yankee at heart) so I can relate to your pain!

I must say that Tuesday night I ordered new birth certificates super rush (they came today, quite good for some government service), was going to send them to my translator tonight, hoping he could do the job for Monday and then overnight them by Fedex. I won't have to spend this extra money now, and will sleep better tonight! Hooray!!! The last thing you need this late in the game is to stress about paperwork lost in No Man's Land. On to bigger and better things, like bathing suit shopping!!

I have a tulle cage veil and a feather fascinator with a vintage broach on it which I will wear either with the veil or after the ceremony for the reception. My garter is flat lace with cut out flourishment <---- not in fact a real word... with a similar toss garter. It was so expensive though I almost don't want to toss it, LOL! I haven't bought decoration for my hair yet but there's a beautiful ivory pearl hair vine on there that I want. I'm just trying to convince myself it's worth the $$. I can't attach a pic of my dress but if you're curious, you can find it on Paloma Blanca's website. Style #3912. I just love it to death! I originally thought I wanted a more flowy/beachy-type dress...until I tried this one on. And, I got the sample which fit like a tee and was 50% off You are going to be so gorgeous!! You've thought of everything down to the smallest detail. I can't wait to see the pics of you and your vintage wedding! I wish I had it in me to plan details like that. I don't blame you not wanting to toss your garter! It sounds exquisite. We're not doing the garter toss since our guests are pretty much family and two friends, one of which is married. So that would be weird...

I'm on the hunt! A blue piece of jewelry might work, a ring possibly, but I'm definitely going the simple route when it comes to jewelry. I've got dime-size ivory pearl and crystal cluster earrings and a pearl bracelet. I love my dress so much I want it to be the shining star! Well besides me, of course

We didn't decide on AS until late January and our STD which was sent out the beginning of February. We already have 20+ booked but honestly expect up to 60 more. AHHH. So much for a small wedding. I wasn't planning to send the formal invite out until May. Am I waiting too long? I must do everything backwards because I bought my dress before everything else. I went to a sample store just for fun and they had my dream dress for 70% off and it only needs minor alterations. I had to take it. So far I've been trying to get my theme together but so much is dependant on budget. And the more responses I get from Tiffany my WC, the less I think I can afford. Sigh. So I start from the drawing board again. I do know that I want the wedding to have a vintage romance feel. I found a great lace aisle runner at save-on-crafts.com that I am thinking about getting. I was thinking of hanging antique picture frames from the wood beams over the Sky Deck. Thinking about doing the decorations for the Sky Deck myself as well. I found baby's breath that's been died deep purple and some other that looks shiney gold/silver. Thinking about getting antique planter and filling with the dyed flowers, placing them every other row. Haven't decided on brides maids dresses yet. I would really love to find something on sale at anthropologie or a place like that.(Again, think vintage romance.) But I haven't seen anything I liked yet. Oh boy. I think that I am in trouble. Not even sure what to do next. Guess I should google a wedding planning timeline and hop to it. You still have lots of time!! May sounds just fine for sending out your invitations. For timelines, I used the book The Knot Guide to Destination Weddings. It truly was a lifesaver for me when I was just starting out. I read it cover to cover! It's filled with helpful information about pretty much everything and has 10 or so pages of timelines. I'd say you're pretty on track for being 7ish months out. And finding your dress first is not doing it backwards! For many brides it's the most difficult part so good for you finding your perfect dress at such a bargain! You need the dress as early as possible so that you can start thinking about shoes, jewelry, and veils. Your theme sounds gorgeous and it seems like you already have pretty good ideas about what you want to do for decorations. I'd say you're sittin' pretty!

Hey, Erin! I've got a question for you about your website. I see that you use weddingwindow.com and so do we! Isn't it a fabulous site? Anyway, I was curious about your url. Yours is just brentanderin.com while for ours it's 'ournames'.weddingwindow.com How'd you work it so that you don't have to have the 'weddingwindow' part?

Kids Camera Reviews (with prices!!) or this one Cameras for kids This is an excellent idea!!! I may steal it. Our AHR is on a party barge on the lake and this would give us peace of mind in case it gets wets or dropped.

WELL, the photog doesn't think it's a good idea for her to get chased down every time a picture is going to get taken. i want all of the pictures on one camera, and i worry about leaving one there for people to use. anyone have an idea on how to remedy this? if it takes too much thought i may just pass on the idea, but for now i'm still trying to figure it out!! I would suggest assigning a responsible friend to be in charge of just the guestbook pictures. I can understand your pro photog wanting to keep focused on other things. If you pull her to do the guestbooks pics, she may miss some crucial key moments you'd rather have her be focusing on. At least you'll be keeping all the guestbook photos on one camera. And I would definitely not leave a camera out for people to use, unless it's an instant polaroid.

Self planned wedding without a coordinator?
taylorwd replied to tinalv's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I agree with everyone that you can definitely do it yourself but a 'day of' person is crucial! When I was in the very early stages and deciding between Cabo or Riviera Maya, I found what I think is THE MOST kick ass place to host a wedding. It's a private villa overlooking Cabo. 5 terraces. a pool. plus 1.5 bedroom casita right on the property. The owner was so nice and helpful and was full of suggestions. Since the main house wasn't quite big enough for us, he even worked it out for us to get the 4 bedroom place across the street with its own pool and pool table. The only reason we didn't go for it that my FIs family is sooooooo undecisive about everything! We wanted them in a place where all the decisions about what to eat and where to go were made for them (i.e. AI resort) If this place interests you, PM me and I'll send you the info. -
Ladies - Advice Please!
taylorwd replied to Sylvie143's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Beautiful dress! And I agree with the other ladies. Sweetheart neckline and no strap. I wondered about the material myself but you already said it's not heavy. So I think you have a winner! -

He doesn't see it this way. I'm trying to calm the Virgo Groomzilla... How far out did everyone else do them? 6 months out for invitations? That seems really early to me! We sent our STDs 6 months out and our invitations 10 weeks out. But for us, all of this was a formality. We mostly stuck to family only for our guests so they knew even before the STDs went out.
