  1. Wow great job! How did you move everything that fast? What about your guests and the hotels where they booked? I must admit sometimes I think of changing my resort to the first choice one but they don't accept children so not sure if it's worth it or not.
  2. I didn't know 13 was a lucky number in Latin America!!! Venue -booked STDates - sent out last week Dress- Bought! Bridesmaids dresses - finalized:) Waiting for the girls to order the one we picked Groomsmen attire- we're still trying to figure out what to do with this. We are getting married in a chapel for a Catholic Ceremony so it needs to be dressier. They might get grey tuxes or grey suits. Photog - open still.....hoping we can finalize that this week Honeymoon - we're trying to figure out what the best option is. It's so easy for us to go to Mexico on vaca so we thoguth it would be a good idea to go somewhere else in teh caribbean such as Turks & Caicos....just gets pricey with all the flights! I've got my long to do list to keep working on...
  3. Hi Girls!!! I know there's a Nov-2010 thread out in the general forum but I figured it might be helpful to have our own for the Riviera Maya area that way we could share tips/info/planning advice relating to our area. I'm getting married 11/13/2010 at the Hacienda Tres Rios!! Dress bought and bridesmaids dresses too!!! We are still struggling on what to do about a chapel We have LaSalle reserved but it's a bit of a distance. We would have loved Xcaret but it's booked so is the one in the middle of Playa del Carmen. Can't wait to hear about your details and how far along you are.
  4. Wow!!!!!!! You did an awesome job planning!! All of the detials look amazing! You gave me inspiration. I am not the craftiest but seeing ideas help a lot:)
  5. We went there on a site visit! IT is gorgeous! Glad you had a great wedding:)

It's too bad we'll probably miss each other when we're there next year, I'd totally save you a seat :-) I'm so excited to go for the site visit! TripAdvisor has had quite a few negative reviews lately which I know I can't/shouldn't worry about but I know that I'll feel so much better once I see everything in person. I'm also meeting with DJ Ivan who we're already hired and with Fernando Fuentes to hopefully pay our deposit for hair and makeup. It's really happening now!!! Random question...has anyone gotten quotes for fire dancers during the reception? For some reason, I REALLY want to do this. So excited your trip is coming up!!! Do you think you can take pictures of the Ceiba Jr Suite rooms? I saw the master suite overlooking the terrace but not the regular ones where our guests will be staying. I only ate at one of the restaurants so please let me know what the food is like when you get back! Also the beach:) I went when it was a little cloudy and the water all over the Riviera Maya was a little murky that day. I'd love to get any information you get!!! We are still waiting on approval from the Catholic chapel they have onsite. When we visited Luis said he expected approval by February and that we should be fine for our wedding...it is now April and no word I must say that is by far the most stressful part for me since that is a big reason why we chose the resort. Thanks Becks! I hope you have a blast on your trip!!

Totally off topic, but can anyone tell me where we start with the Catholic Church requirements? I know we have to do pre-Cana here and have our local priest send some sort of letter to the priest in Mexico, but that's about all I know. Thanks for that video!! Can you please send me the person's name/email who you've been dealing with for the chapel and ceremony?? Thank You!!!
  8. Does any one have any pictures of the chapel at the iberostar or the riviera maya palladium? I didn't find any really good ones online. Thanks girls!
  9. Hi Girls!!! So excited to see this thread. I'm a November bride as well:) Our wedding date is 11/13/2010 - seems like there are a bunch of us sharing that date! 13 is my lucky number! We are from the CT/NY Area. We are getting married at the Hacienda Tres Rios in the Riviera Maya. Our colors are silver, cobalt blue, and a few black accents. Is there anyone looking to share a photographer around our date?
  10. Does anyone have Aridna's contact info? Email/phone etc? Thanks, Ana
  11. Hi Girls!!! Can someone please post Ariadna's email? I have tried Lupita but it's been a while since I heard back from her.

We're having around 11-15 guests so we don't need a big set up with dance floor and entertainment). This is what she sent me: Hello Shannon, The price for the Symbolic ceremony is $800 USD The price for the dinner reception is $20 USD per person in the event (as long as they are staying in the Hotel in the all inclusive package) The price for centerpieces are about $40 USD very simple but nice The price for the cake is between $150 and $250 USD, you can send me a picture of the cake you would like to have and I can give you the exact price. The price for the Bridal Bouquet is around $50 to $100 USD The price for the groom botonier is around $25 USD The price for the maid of honor Bouquet is $50 USD The price for Best man boutounniere is $25 USD Hair and Make up $350 to $400 USD Photography will depend on the package you selec from $350 to $1800 USD Speaker for IPOD around $250 USD Hi Eadon!! Congrats on the engagement!!! Thanks for sending these prices!! Can you send me alibe's email? Ana
  13. Girls there is also a chapel at the Valentin Imperial. We visitied in December and it's just so different but gorgeous. I would have definitely gone that route if they accepted children. Does any one know of a local english speaking priest in the area? We might be getting married at LaSalle Chapel (closer to Cancun) but we need a priest that speaks English. Thanks!! Ana

You know what, at the end of the day, I live in NY and if I were to have a NY traditional wedding we'd be looking @ at least $50k++. Hey, I have to make myself feel better somehow..... Ah! I know what you mean!! I thought the destination was going to be a little nicer on our wallet which compared @ $50K it is. Plus we get to have it at an amazing location. Ours is lower than we'd pay in CT but that's because we're having less than 1/2 the people than if we were having it at home.... I need to figure out what I can cut out of the budget since everything adds up!
  15. Thanks for your responses girls! Becks - I have no idea why they require wire transfers. I haven't heard back from him yet but I do know last week was Holy Week and a lot of people have off down there. I think I might just send it through our outside wedding coordinator to avoid the multiple fees. Hopefully going forward we can just send through credit card or through our wedding coordinator who's company has an account with HSBC.
  16. I'm on your same boat! Our wedding is this November and we're still trying to decide wich option will be best. Thanks!! Ana
  17. Hi Ladies - Does anyone know an easy and affordable way to make wire transfers? I have to send both my resort and wedding coordinator deposits (they're both in the Riviera Maya) but I found out from my bank each wire transfer is $45 since it's international. Thanks! Ana

The prices for the bridesmaids/moms/friends hair is pretty good! I'm going to take a look on the forum to see if they have any pictures. Ana

You get a 10% discount and their is something about if you wire cash to the hotel and don't charge you avoide like a 10% tax/service fee which you will find is hidden when you try to contract outside. Also you don't have to worry about another company just dropping off and picking up the equipment. This guy stays the whole time to make sure nothing goes wrong, also. Same goes for flowers, when you do a site visit, Luis will have the florist/decor person come. Just bring pictures of what you want. Pricing was very competitive. One of the advantages of using the contacts that Luis has is that you do all of your meetings in less than 2 hours, wire transfer one chunk of money and Luis handles everything else. When you are trying to enjoy your wedding day and event it is nice not to worry about anything else. Your information is always so helpful!! Can you please let us know how much we should expect to pay for centerpieces, bouqets, etc? Also - is there a hair/make-up person that is good with good pricing? Thanks!! Ana

Is she the wedding coordinator you guys are using? I'm so excited yet nervous to have the contract! There were many mistakes in the first one and this revised one looks much better. Did you have anything in yours in case of natural emergencies, epidemics, or power outages? Thanks!!
  21. Hi Girls - For those of you have signed contracts already can you please let me know if there was anything in there for natural disasters/power outages/etc. that would affect the wedding? This wasn't on my contract and since I saw so many people dealing with swine last year I was wondering if there was something that was addressed in the contract to deal with that type of thing.

What photographer and videographer did you select to bring down with you?
  23. Hey there - there's a thread for the Hacienda Tres Rios. The place is absolutely gorgeous! I visited this past december. Their website pictures don't do the place any justice. If you do a search on the Hacienda Tres Rios you'll see the thread. Good luck!
  24. What a great review!!! I loved everything! You looked beautiful. I went to pronovias this weekend and tried on some Manuel Mota dresses but I didn't see one similar to this one. DO you mind telling me the name of the dress? (The one I loved was by Manuel Mota and the name of the dress is Trovador). I do like the fun bottom on yours though so please let me know the name of it! Also - I'd like more info from you on Cecilia Dumas and also DJ Mannia. I got the prices from DJ Mannia but I was more interested in what you had to say about the music. Was it music that was up to date? Did you have to give him a list? Cecilia Dumas - do you have a link to a slideshow or anything she provided you? We are considering her for our photographer and so I'd like to see more of her photos. Wedding coordinator - I will be getting married at a different resort. But do you mind telling us how much you tipped her? We are considering doing the same thing with ours! Thanks!!!
