Just a heads up to my Calgary ladies who don't have dresses....I just got an email from The Bridal Centre saying that they are having a huge dress sale tomorrow (Sunday the 12th) to make room for the Fall collection. 11am - 5pm

*sob* stop complimenting the maggie!! LOL. Â i have decided to keep the DB dress and it is killing me

Hey Linds, Â I haven't taken my dress into her yet, I just gave her a call yesterday. I asked her how much it would be to turn a wedding dress from zip back to corset back, and she gave me $100. I also asked if she could quote me for turning it into a sweetheart neckline, but she said she would have to see it (which makes total sense). So I will take my dress in one day so she can look at it. My wedding is in January, and I will probably take it into her in November. I just want to lose a bit of weight first if I can. I will also need just a tiny one point bustle, and maybe a raise of the hem - but I am hoping to get it all for under $200.

Thanks Natalie! I have indeed thought about altering it to sweetheart, as I noticed that is a more flattering neckline for me. We will see how much Connie quotes that change to be. She said she could do the corset back for only $100 which is awesome

I was wondering the same thing about a handle, too. I think that a guest would prefer a handle, but I am not really sure!

cookie - some of the mugs on 4imprint are pricey, but there are some good deals to be had too! ...and shipping is under $60 for 72 mugs. ok ladies...i need some opinions from my calgary gals. Â thank you for all the good wishes, but i am going to be honest - i am already having dress regret. right before i bought the david's bridal dress, i tried on a maggie sottero that i LOVED. it is too much money (and too close to the wedding) to order one - but until i tried on the DB dress, i had decided that i was going to get a replica of the Maggie. whenever i look at the picture of me in the Maggie, i swoon! i feel like the Maggie is more ME. Â what do i do? do i get the Maggie replica, and if i love it, i sell the DB dress? or do i suck it up and just wear the DB dress since i already have it? HELP ME!! Â first up is me in the Maggie, and the second is me in the DB. Â

haha, thanks Sandy! Â I only have a day and a half at the resort before the wedding - but you are totally right. I don't want to stress about being able to zip my dress!! Â I love how clean and simple the zip-back looks....but a corset is just the way to go I think.

With only 5 months to go - I finally found my dress!! Loving it!  I have a little weight to lose to make it fit a *little* better, and I am considering a corset back to emphasize the hour-glass effect....but I am very happy with her  Â

Hey ladies! Â I have been MIA lately as I was in Ontario for a week to visit family and wedding dress shop. AAANNNNDDD.....I bought my dress!!! EEEEK! I was home for 8 days, and went to about 10 shops...trying on about 40 dresses. And I ended up buying my dress on my last day there, when we went to Buffalo for the day. I got it at David's Bridal! Â When we first got there I didn't think I would end up getting anything from them, as I fell in love with a Maggie at one of the stores and was going to have a replica made. But then my dress just found me! Hurray! Â What a relief to have that done and over with. I bought of the rack and it may need alterations in a couple of months after I lose a bit more weight, so I think I will call that chickie that someone mentioned earlier. The dress is a zip back, but I am thinking of putting a corset in it (as a corset does WONDERS for my bod)....does anybody have any idea how much that would cost? Â Hope all you guys are well!

I think I will be joining you ladies too, as a Monica Bridal bride. Â I think I decided on a Maggie dress today to have replicated (Melissa Brooch). It looks very simple without any intricate beading or anything, so hopefully they will able to do it for me! Can't wait to see both of yours!!

0.6 is no biggie, Lisa - you will be down that in no time. Â For breakfasts I usually have cottage cheese with diced tomato and fresh cracked pepper on it. Or I will make scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese, green onion, jalapeno and mushroom in it. Sometimes I will just do boiled eggs too. Â I have been out of province for the week and have not been keeping my eating quite on program, but I am being very careful. Hopefully trying on all of these dresses will have burned off a few calories! We will see when I get home on Thursday!

wow lisa, way to go! Â I had my first (scheduled) cheat day on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it! I know you aren't supposed to weigh yourself the day after a cheat day, but I did (of course), and my weight was actually the same the next day which I took to be a good sign. Â I was back on the wagon yesterday and am being very good. The scale still isn't budging, so we will see what the next couple of weeks hold.

i am using mine for table centrepieces and on the cake table. i can't fathom forking over $60 per floral centrepiece! Â

i also understand your pain! Â our deadline for RSVPs was July 30th, and we have about 58% of ours in. out of that 58% that said yes, only 50% of THOSE people have booked/put down a deposit. Â it is stressful!! i know it is still 5 months out....but c'mon people!!

Â i really don't think they have a private beach ceremony. the beach is open to all guests at anytime, so it will not be private. you can choose a time when fewer people would be on the beach, but that is probably as private as you would get. Â your options for a reception are the Preidential Suite (i think it can accomodate up to 100 people), the Ballroom, or the Wet Bar (i am not positive that the Wet Bar can accomodate such a big number, but i think it could. Â
