I sent a very zoomed it picture and she responded today saying that they can do it, with the color, although it won't look 100% like it. She said closer to 80%. I can deal with that. So they will be redoing it at no charge. they were also willing to send me back $30 to purchase my own, but that wouldn't even cover half the cost of the belt. I'll wait to see what they send me! I explained how they would go about doing it, as its actually the beading attached to the colored fabric, and she seems pretty positive they can replicate it. Wish me luck!!! that is reassuring! good luck!!

Could do with more beading to replicate original? need to check about the pockets as no reference to those does the top section look quite long to anyone else? Thanks i think it looks quite good!! your dress is very similar to one that i am interested in (pockets too!) - so i am glad to see an almost finished product. this is taffeta, right? this makes me feel much better about mine

  6. totally off topic ladies - can anyone suggest a fabulous hairdresser in town? preferably in the SE, but i could venture elsewhere if need be. i have decided to cut my almost waist length hair back into a pixie cut (yes, before the wedding)...and being new to town, i haven't had my hair cut here yet. and when going for such a drastic change, i don't want a friggin hair-student to do it...lol thanks!
  7. christinak82 - so exciting!! i can't wait to see it! AJ - that dress is BEAUTIFUL!

  9. thanks ladies i am not super discouraged just yet...just wary, hehe. i am also a plus sized gal, so dress shopping may be a bit of a tough experience from the get-go. but i am excited, and i know my FI will love me no matter what i am wearing. i just want to feel beautiful!
  10. Boo - your dress is GORGEOUS. i love it! Kayley - Awesome planning thread! Your dress is gorgeous too - can't wait to see pics of you in it! 6 days - eeek! MayanLily - i am sorry that you don't love your dress. i think you should try to sell it as well...and go for that one you love! with my teensy budget, i can only afford a knockoff or a David's Bridal dress, so i am also worried that i won't love my dress. i want to go shopping (thanks for the tips Boo) just to make sure what sort of style will look good on me....and then i cross my fingers and order from china! eeek! at least i have time to try it a few times if it doesn't turn out the first time!
  11. congrats boo! do we get to see a picture of the final choice? i was just rereading your post of the day you went dress shopping as i am thinking of maybe going this weekend (if i can even get an appointment).

Gianinar made both dresses in 30 days but I emailed them every day with all correspondences and pictures. I think they were overjoyed to get rid of me. I paid extra for fast shipping so I am expecting the dress any day now. I took the initiative and sent them money most of the time instead of having to wait for them to request it. It was alot of worry so if you are unsure order several dress ahead of time and you can pick which one later. What do you think? i think your dress looks fantastic!!! wow, only 12 days until your wedding, i hope it comes in soon for you!
  14. Janine - beautiful dress! i think i am in the Gianinar camp as well. everyone seems so pleased with the quality of their dresses, and if the prices are lower... then i just might be sold! i am not ordering anything until i have actually tried a few dresses on, just to be sure the style i am wanting will look good on me. i am lucky that i have a few months to hum and haw about it
  15. yeah, there is the re-gaining the lost weight factor which totally sucks. but probably worth it in the end!! the good thing about being a bit bigger, is that you tend to gain less weight while pregnant (if you aren't silly about it, eating banana splits every night!!)

I know that I should lose weight, but I just can't seem to. i am definitely worried about getting pregnant while i am still so overweight. i already have high blood pressure, and i worry about gestational diabetes and all of that. that is part of my motivation to lose weight before the wedding, as we wnat to start trying for babies right away (we are not getting any younger!).. i am realistic about it and don't expect to be 125lbs before conceiving, but i need to be in a much healthier weight category than i am now. i have always had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that i am going to have fertility problems which scares me too...but that is totally unfounded..hehe.

Maybe June when the weather gets warmer (fingers crossed)? P.S.S. BeachBrideSoon, I sent you a PM. Happy planning, ladies! hey renee, i have found that prices do tend to start going down in the summer months, as people aren't really thinking about their winter vacations yet. when people start to get booking for winter, prices start to creep up. it is really just "wait and see", even for us! it is really so hard to predict. it is certainly frustrating from a bride's point of view!!

We had the ceremony right there in our living room and our officiant Jackie had a great casual program and threw in stuff like "do you Kayley vow to never give Jeremy a hard time when he wants a guy's night out?" and "do you Jeremy accept that Kayley will buy herself a pair of shoes for each guy's night out?" It was really fun and we laughed lots. Then we went to the Keg downtown for dinner and told the waiter that we just got married. He brought over a bottle of champagne (on the house!) After dinner we went across the street to Spur to catch the last quarter of the Lakers game and the bartender there gave a round of free shots AND turns out she is also getting married in the Mayan on the SAME DAY as me! I don't feel married at all which is great because we really want the wedding NEXT WEEK (holy crap, I can't believe it's almost here) to be the real deal. that is so awesome! congrats Mrs!!

Sometimes it's a bit shiny, sometimes not. I'm really happy I didn't spend the extra money because i'm not sure how the silk taffeta could have been better. My biggest concern was that it would be like davids bridal dresses and be really loud with a tent/sleeping bag texture but it wasn't at all. Hope this helps! this is very helpful! i hadn't thought of the noise factor of the dress. i think i am leaning towards gianinar now. i would like to see pics of the silk taffeta though..the poly still looks a little shiny, but i know taffeta is pretty shiny to begin with. thanks for posting!

Mine is being made of poly taffeta as opposed to silk taffeta (I didn't want to spend the extra $250 to upgrade). I hope that I am making the right decision! Any thoughts?? Help! I am starting to feel a little stress! i don't have any personal advice for you, but i am looking forward to hearing the answer to this question. that is the one reason i am a little hesitant about Duosheng, their fabric looks crazy and shiny. the dress i would really like is silk taffeta, and i really want to know if the poly taffeta is nice. can we see the photos of your dresses? good luck!
