welcome back murmel!!! I am so happy that last minute things work with the lomas group. My friends want to go to Coco bongo in playa del carmen or Cancun. I wasn't sure if this was going to possible but i think it will work its way out. I will coordinate things once down there. Ok based on what yo have seen what is a cool place to meet for a welcome party before dinner. I would love to meet at a bar or location to mingle with guest and then make reservations for the group for dinner. Was the mexican restaurant good? Any suggestions ladies. We are doing the spoon for rehearsal dinner. Ok one more question do you actually have a rehearsal of how the ceremony will flow with music and everything? So happy your back and can't wait to see the review!

Can you believe it is almost our turn! Hey don't worry about those guest that backed out. I had the questions and the hesitations but hey if anyone knows me I would be the last person to risk my life over a wedding. So if they really think that I would put them in harms way they don't know me and shouldn't be there! Its was just an easy excuse to get out saying no and they can't afford it which is way more honorable than latter. So ladies, I have been mia from this thread for a while and it is my turn very very soon........no I should say OUR (Mischaka) turn very very soon. Ihope all is well with my wedding date twin!! I am so behind so who else is getting married in February?

Thanks for the clarification Ivan. I think everyone is money conscious so I hope it was not an inconvenience to you for me post my prices. I have always found it helpful to have a ball park idea of what things cost and everyone on the forum has been helpful in this manner. This allows people to decide if its within their budget or not. Everyone will agree that prices on alot of things have gone up so I am sure your prices will to. I am very thrilled about having you as a photographer and just wanted to share and let the other ladies know there are options outside of the resort that is WORTH paying the extra expense to bring you onto the resort. Call it free advertisement! Look forward to our sessions! Only 12 days til we travel and 15 before the wedding!!!! I choose Ivan Luckie with luckie photography. He will be there all day at least 10 hours and do the TTD for $2000. That is what he quoted us. The wedding photos is in a journalistic style and he had some pretty cool shoots. It was $1500 for wedding day and i think $500 for TTD. I did pay $500 resort fee but for what we wanted that was still way cheaper than what the resort was offering. Thanks for all your help and advice. Also I use kera care on a regular bases is there a shampoo in there line that you suggest to wash out the salt and chlorine. I will be in the water EVERY moment i can so want to do the best to protect my hair. I do have a perm and my daughter has natural hair. Thanks

Thank you sooo much! I have been stressing over this and you know what that is the best advise ever! We will let people know what we are going to do at the welcome party and lave it up to them. We want to take his daughter now our daughter to Xel-ha to swim with dolphins. We need the time to be flexible so a private van sounds wonderful! Thank you I can check that off my list. It sounds like the entrance fees to the parks are much cheaper going that route as well.

nv+gms Did you do an excursion? if so what did you decide to do. Did you plan it ahead of time with your group or once you got down there? WOW 15 more days til my turn. Oh did you need bug spray? Welcome kerry! These ladies are the best! They will be your TA, help you coordinate and support you! They have been heaven sent for me. Trust me those 15 months will fly by so fast! I was upset when we decided to have our wedding 14 months away from our engagement date but now I am so thankful we did. Everything and I mean everything just starts to happen. So buckle up and enjoy the emotional ride to bliss! It will all be worth it!

I printed on 70lb card stock. I chose a light yellow card stock with the hot pink print. They look pretty cute. I hope the idea works for you.

Thats right ladies we went to the church and our pastor married us thursday!! So he wanted to know the low down on the cigar roller. Was it a flat fee, was there a per person fee? Approximately how many cigars per person? We can't wait til our turn and on the major grind trying to get everything done.

Wow it is amazing how wonderful his website is. I saw this in martha stewart destination weddings mag and loved it. So i searched and here you all are thinking the same thing. I was thinking of placing the post cards at each seat. I have found from being in tons of weddings that if it's not right in front of them they will over look it. So i really tried to put all my thoughts together so they would be cohesive. Our tables are places we have traveled. I will take a frame and place in it a photo of us at that particular place and share our favorite moment from that trip. Then it will say something like please use the postcard and share your favorite moment from this trip with us. So hopefully this all makes sense. But need a more elegant way of saying everything......HELP! I will use both of the ideas suggested. On one page I will blow up the postcard frontside and place the written side on top. Then on the next page have it so i have duplicates so one card to show the front and another to show their message. Wow i love late nite ideas! Thanks ladies

I agree about the stiff tulle but you may want to see what one of those slips.....i am drawing a blank....... will do under the dress. You just need a little fluff to give the ruffles that flowing/fluffy look . I hope i am making sense. I just remember dress shopping with my sister and we added a slip underneath and it totally changed the look of the dress. Try that before adding to the actual dress. I will Try and post a picture of the escort cards. i thought they were cute. I totally went with the martha stewart destination wedding planning fo rmost of my ideas. I started with a theme which is destination LOVE since the wedding is in february the month of love. So the bags are designed with the spa theme/ romantic evening for two. They have a custom made bath fizzer in the shape of a hersey kiss. The bath kisses have my weddding colors and smell divine. You leave the tub silky smooth! I added bath and body works lotion and scented candle ( to enhance the mood or rid the awful smell thay may come from the bathroom lol). The room card was a martha idea as well that i thought would be fun for people. Plus it will save sometime trying to figure out where everyone is since the resort is booked and some are on the family side and other on the adult. This is what the card looks like. This thread has been by far the most interesting on so many different levels. I feel like I have to check it twice a day. Any way I must say thank you ladies for posting all the information on the different makers, stores, styles, basically everything. I finally took the plunge and ordered a very cheap ivory chiffon wedding dress, from instyleweddings.com I just ordered a standard size. The dress came out beautiful and it did need to be altered since I lost weight and did the standard size. My fabulous seamstress made the changes i needed for $35 dollars. I was so amazed it was so cheap and fast! So thanks to you ladies I bought a knock off dress for my TTD that cost me $110 total ( including rush shipping and alterations!!!) I wouldn't have gone this route without all of you so THANK YOU, THANK YOU ...My TTd looked very similar to my wedding gown and my mom was mad we paid so much for the wedding gown when the knock off looked just as good. Silly me didn't even think to take pics at my final fitting today but i will eventually post it for you ladies. Thanks!

Well ladies I have checked off some major things off my to do list today! SO just wanted to share. My final fitting for my wedding dress and TTD was today and the changes and alterations were beautiful. I mean she was fabulous. I told her i would give her a shout out! She wanted me to wait until a couple of weeks before the wedding to finalize everything which made me nervous. So literally last saturday we fitted both of my dresses, my two bridesmaids, three dresses for my mom and a dress for my mother-in law. She called me Monday morning saying everything was done!!! Wow so amazing and beautifully done. If any one lives in columbus ohio area i know the BEST SEAMSTRESS! Ok other things completed are my OOT bags and goodies, place cards and wine glass charms, my room cards ( i will pass these out at the welcome party and guest can swap room numbers so they know where to find each other and it encourages mingling), and menus. So still working on excursion / important reminders letter and ceremony programs. So needless to say improvement has been made and so happy everything is coming together in the nick of time!

Jaime we have alot in common, I have Grace to and your right she has by far been the best. Request her if you can especially if you k ow your TA is leaving!! I hoe our january brides are having the times of their lives!!

I just called my beautician and set up an appointment for us go shopping for hair. I'm hoping she will make them but I might have to be like Mssmith and do it myself. But really hoping she does!! Please post pics mssmith!!!!

This happened to me but the major proiblem was that they didn't tell me until i called 10 times and then finally i told my TA which was through destination weddings how displeased i was and boy they have been top notch since then. I would email her at 10pm and she would email me back within the hour. So if you are working with DW tell your TA and it will change! Start printing your detail sheets everytime you make any changes. My second WC was missing stuff but i corrected her immediately! As long as you have documentation they should have to honor it! Goodluck! You will get more attention now that your wedding is closer. They didn't really do much until 2 mo before the wedding. 28 more days!!!! Yeah
