Swarovski Crystal Monogram Cake Toppers
JuneWeddingDreams replied to ashleed's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Can you send me a picture of the P? I am very interested in purchasing that one from you. Let me know. -
All - I am looking for a polaroid camera. I am willing to purchase a gently used one if I can find one. I have been out to Amazon and Ebay but wanted to throw this out to all of you to see if there is something that found a better deal somewhere else or is willing to sell theirs. Also, if someone found one in a local store please let me know where...Walmart didn't carry them. Thanks in advance for your help! Lindsey

Alright ladies I heard back from Cecilia already. She was very quick to respond today. The only things we need are those I have listed in my original post. She said she will make copies of the originals and that will be sufficient so you don't have to give her the originals. She also said that the officiants are fluent in English and that there shouldn't be an issue with anyone trying to understand them. She did say that the ceremony script I sent her I should try and cut down a little or have a couple people from our group read pieces of it. The officiants tend to like to stick to their legal portions of the ceremony which is understandable. So I think I'll have my FI sister read the sand ceremony and leave the rest to the officiant to complete. I am glad I asked...this whole legal ceremony seems so much easier than I expected now that I have all the answers...

Andim...let me know what she tells you and I'll do the same...I have an email off to her today. Very contradicting information from multiple brides. I am curious to see how she responds. I sent her our written ceremony script with the legal marriage pieces left out for them to add on as needed from the officiant. I will see what she says and then I would be happy to share with you what we have.

Are there any brides that will be or were legally married in Cancun? If so, what paperwork did you have to bring down with you. I have noticed there are some mixed reviews/feedback on this topic. Some websites say you need to have the following... 1. certified copies of your birth certificates 2. passports and tourist card 3. certified copy of divorce decrees (if applicable) 4. 4 witnesses While others say that in #1 you have to have your birth certificates legalized by the Consulate of Mexico. Do the resorts take care of this or do I need to do this? I am second guessing myself now. I also would like to know if they keep this documentation or do they just make a copy? I don't want to give them my only copy so if they keep it I will request a new one. Help please!

June 2010 Brides!

I would love to but don't think I have the guts to do it! I'll think about it. -
Yes we are flying our photographer down to Mexico ... I just told Cecilia what I felt the photography was worth that I wasn't using with them and told her I wanted that amount to go towards our sound system rental for the night. She agreed. I would make sure you print off any emails you get with that agreement - I made sure I had it in writing from her. Good luck!

Hi Toby - I can help you with one of your questions. #1. I have an aunt and uncle that will be coming down to Mexico and they have 3 kids as well. They do have to purchase 2 rooms, however they are adjoining rooms meaning they have a door that connects the 2 from the inside. It stinks that they have to pay for 2 rooms, but unfortunately that's how the resort works. As far as looking for price quotes...I would recommend going to a travel agent versus some of the online resources such as expedia or orbitz...some brides on this forum have had really bad experience with those online resources and rumor has it if the resort is booked those that have booked through those online sources are the first ones to get bumped from their chosen hotels. I hope this helps.

sungoddess...thank you for sharing...I am going to show this to my FI. Best of luck to you when you do travel... I'll be thinking about you!

OMG Sungoddess...my fiance is terrified of flying! To the point where he breaks out in a sweat and clenches the side of the seats every time we fly! We took a trip to Texas this past summer and fly down there from Wisconsin. The flight down was horrible - he barely made it through - we tried alcohol and everything on the plane to get him calmed down. Needless to say, we didn't fly home...we drove...yes 24 hours straight! He has agreed to go get some medication from his doctor prior to flying to Mexico in June for the wedding. I would recommend getting some meds just to get you through the flight! People don't realize that for some people this is truly a dehabilitating fear. It consumes you! I wish you all the best!

Wow you are close! I agree - I am waiting for signs of spring as that means the big day will be right around the corner. We are getting legally married down there. The wedding coordinator is taking care of all the documentation and having it sent to our home/or providing it to us prior to our depature if its ready. I know they have to translate it from Spanish to English and we have to pay for them to do that. Are you getting legally married down there as well? -

Swankster - hello from one Wisconsite to another! Where in Wisconsin are you? I am in Sherwood...right outside the Appleton area. -
JT3 - I believe you will be charged the $100 regardless because that's what it costs to bring an outside vendor into the Dreams. So in the end you may end up paying that $100 anyways. I know Cecilia gave me credit towards other things for not using the Dreams photographer...you may want to consider swapping it out for something you will get some $ back on. Just a thought. Good luck with what you decide. Sunitam - I cannot wait to read your review!

Ladies - I am looking for some cake boxes that are not too expensive. Anyone have a good site to purchase those? I wanted to provide them to my guests for them to take a piece of cake back to the room with them.

JuneWeddingDreams replied to sjmacphe's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Hello fellow June brides. I too am getting married in June at the Dreams Resort in Cancun. June 8th is the wedding day. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I have been working on the OOT bags, sent out our STD's (we aren't doing formal invites in addition to the STD's), guestbook has been started, welcome books, bookmarks, pre-travel brochures, pre-travel CD's and luggage tags will be sent out to those that have booked already this week. I feel like there is sooo much more to do and time is going to go so fast! I can't wait! I look forward to hearing from the rest of you as the time gets closer! -
Barcelo Maya Palace Review!!!!

I would love to see more pictures when you have them. -
We decided to fly our own photographer in because we have heard mixed reviews about the photographer at the Dreams. I think some of the more recent reviews have been okay, however its all what fits in your budget. There are quite a few photographers in the Cancun area if you want to look into it...I know Cecilia Dumas comes highly recommended and her prices aren't that bad. The WC, Cecilia gave us some very good credit towards other items for not using the Dreams photographer so that is something else to consider as well. Good luck with whatever you decide!
