  1. Theyre really nice. I agree with skipping the ribbon. I think the cardstock looks nice, I would keep the edge thin, or else they look great without it too!

They knew upfront that I wasnt going to be buying any pictures from them because I told them i had a photog/friend w me. The WC just asked that our photog be respectful of the resorts photog and that we take some time to take pictures with him. The 2 actually worked well together and there were no problems what so ever. In the long run it benefited the resort because we did end up buying $200 worth of pictures that they took thru out our stay, when my photog was long gone. https://sandals.venuephotos.com/SNS/...e.aspx?sub=168 username is [email protected] / password is jamaica 2. now to my photog.... unbeleivable! thats all i can say. she is very open to working with destination brides since she is building her portifilio!! https://www.collages.net/consumersit...password=11351 I am piecing together a review on microsoft word so i will post that soon, hopefully. but in the meantime if anyone has questions about beaches negril please email me.... We had a wonderful experience and I would rate the resort a 100%!! I hope you dont mind, I havent talked to you before but am going to attempt to log in to view your photos (dying to see them actually)
  5. Would it be possible for me to see your pictures? I am dying to see what a wedding at Beaches looks like (tried the link and it didnt work) -Alison

We aren't doing any of the PB packages because they are just too pricy for us. Our wedding is at 10 a.m. so we aren't doing any type of reception or anything. I think we are going to bring all of our guests to Rick's Cafe the night of our wedding. That is where my fiance' and I went in January 09' right after he proposed to me. I think it would be cute Anyway good luck and have fun with the planning! Hi Dani, I am a future Beaches bride, Feb6th 2010 and we have been going back and forth on the flowers. We are not using Preson Bailey or Martha Stuewart and will save a ton of money. Its a challenge since its all over phone and email but I get the feeling that they dont tell you all your options. How is your planning coming along? Also I was told that with the Dj, they send you lists of songs and you pick what you want and get anything that you want that they dont have (much like a wedding at home)... Its confusing I feel like I am being a pain buy asking them questions but its OUR day, right? We will cross paths, we are at Beaches until the 8th Alison
  7. Welcome to the forum and happy planning!
  8. Thanks yall for the welcome! OMG! I havent gotten off of this blog since yesterday! My FI is asking if I am ok We just cant decide about the reception. Hard to know what to expect without having been there. We have more than 10 rooms booked greater than 4 nights, so we get 15$ off of the reception so the dinner is 60pp... EVERYBODY wants a DJ and to have apps/bar for 3hrs with the dj is the same price as the sit down dinner... If we had 2hrs of apps/bar and 3hrs of DJ, well I am just not sure how that would work(thats 45pp)... All in all MUCH cheaper than a regular reception at home. I am anxious to get it all set but our WC is not so good at returning calls/emails so far. She is super nice when I talk to her on the phone, but well maybe shes just not worried about it yet. What has been everyone elses Beaches experience? There is so much on this blog, I could be on here for days trying to find it all (and havent figured out how to search yet) Happy Sunday
  9. Erica, Where did you get your can koozies? I am looking for them and cant find them for under 3.00 (personalized).. any suggestions? Alison
  10. Hi Group I am a Beaches Negril (Jamaica) bride-to-be, having fun planning our wedding for February 6, 2010. Hints and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. We have 60 confirmed guests and (I think) we will be doing the sit down dinner. Our wedding is confirmed for 2pm. I learned this week that we dont have to do Preston Bailey or Martha Stewart flowers, so I think we are going to create our own centerpieces. It is waaay cheaper. Id love to hear what kinds of flowers people put in their arrangements, as of right now, we are on the roses and orchids. We are very excited!!! I have a dress on order, a Maggie Sottero, probably more traditional than most DWs, but I fell in love (and so did my mom). Bridesmaids are wearing peony (medium pink). The dresses are B2, from Jasmine bridal and they each got to pick their style (I asked that the dresses each be chiffon and knee or tea length). My FIs clothing is yet to be determined, he's pretty laid back and has said he will wear whatever I ask (within reason). Suggestions are appreciated on that too- I saw earlier a blog about studiosuits.com, but I dont think I have enough guts to order wedding day clothing without being able to touch the fabric before buying. This blog seems like a great resource... congrats to all of the upcoming brides!! Alison
