  1. Sounds like everything was GREAT! I can't wait!
  2. *Screaming* PLEASE POST PICS!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you!! I can't wait to hear how everything came out!
  3. You ladies have really sparked my fire now!! I kind of hate that I've already ordered my wedding dress from a local shop! We're doing an AHR the week after the wedding (It's a DW) so I won't have NEARLY enough time to get my wedding dress cleaned. I kind of wanted to wear something bright and colorful to the AHR but now I don't know...perhaps I should take a look at some of short styles in white on Landy Bridal!
  4. Has anyone heard of the website lightinthebox.com? Apparently, it's a wholesale company from China and they have LOTS of wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. They look cute but I'm unsure about the fit and quality.
  5. Thanks for sharing your experience jamaicabride09! I guess I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around paying $75 per person for a reception when a) we're at an all-inclusive where the food is free anyway, and we're having a rather expensive AHR the week we return to Houston. I was hoping there was a way we could just all sit together at one of the restaurants and have dinner together the evening of the ceremony. If we could have music, that would be great too.
  6. Okay so I just went to check out some of the bags at Oriental Trading. My plan was to give EVERY guest a bag but now I don't know. Would the men REALLY use the bag....really? Maybe I should just do one bag per room??
  7. Your OOT bags look great! I guess it's time for me to start compiling some things as well...
  8. I just sent you a message about the badge sleeves and laminating pouches...
  9. I'm sorry Kerrij for all that you're going through - but (if you don't mind) could you PLEASE tell me what in the world you're paying $700 for?? And for just 7 guests?? Something doesn't sound right... Also, can someone explain how the flower upgrades work? Do I contact Jan's Bridal and Flowers myself and set everything up (what I want, how much, wedding date for delivery, etc.) or do I do all of that through Chandlyn. Also, If I'm just doing the free package and decide to go outside for my flowers, will Chandlyn let me add or upgrade something else since I'm not using those sucky Martha Stewart purple flowers?
  10. I'm not sure what I want for a gift. Diamond earings would be nice though. As for my fiance, he just had to put his dog down a couple of weeks ago (RIP Kandy) so I'm thinking another dog would be great! I don't mind pets, but he knows I'm not exactly the one that's going to go all out to have one. Therefore, it'll be a HUGE surprise for him that I actually agree to a dog. I'm thinking about just buying a really cute dog collar and wrapping that to give him (can't exactly sneak a new puppy to Jamaica...LOL).
  11. Did any DW brides "jump the broom" at the end of their ceremony? This is typically an African-American tradition but hey....you never know...LOL! My fiance was interested in doing this, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the broom there...
  12. I just sent you a message regarding your chair sashes. Let me know!
  13. These are SO NICE! I was just telling my FI last night that I thought these would be cute for our reception meal in Jamaica. Since we're already doing OOT bags, we're not really pressed to come up with favors. These are cute, relevant and whimsical.
  14. Does anyone have the contact email for Chandlyn?
  15. Can someone explain the difference between a private reception and a semi-private reception (ambiance, atmosphere, cost, etc.)?
  16. OMG! Your pics are phenomenal! We're bringing our own photographer so we're excited about how good our photos will be as well. I loved the simplicity of everything! Very similar to what I want as well!
  17. I was thinking the same thing Kristie, I hope I'm as cool, calm and collected in April 2010!
  18. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time! So there's a casino on the property?
  19. Hello April 2010 brides! I'm an April 24, 2010 bride at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios (I've seen this referred to as Riu and ROR also but I'm not sure what that means). I am getting SO EXCITED! I'm glad someone tipped me off to the importance of dress shopping early. I purchased mine just in time and I have my first fitting in early February. I haven't even started thinking about music yet. I know I want to walk down the aisle to Love Is You by Chrisette Michelle but that's it. We're having an AHR so I hadn't planned to really do anything big in Jamaica. Just in case though, I should probably download a playlist. I understand it's cheaper to do it this way instead of paying for a DJ. Are you ladies downloading party music or lounge music?
  20. Great review! I hope I don't run into any unexpected worms!
