My FI and I met through Lavalife. We chatted and talked on the phone a few times, then met about a week after our first chat. We met up at this lounge/club (we both drove there separately), took a few drinks and talked all night over the music, both inside and on the terrace. The conversation was flowing so well, I remember telling him some pretty intimate stuff, as if I had known him a long time. We danced a little, and though I thought he danced very well, I was a bit disappointed that he kept looking at the floor the whole time. I learned later that it's because he had been dancing alone for so long, he wasn't used to dancing with someone. he's a bit better now. At the end of the night we wanted to continue chatting in a quieter environment so we took his car to go and try find a place. Before he started up the car he turned around and asked me if he could kiss me. I thought it was so cute that he would ask! We never actually found a coffee place opened at that hour, so we just stayed in his car for a while.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is no way I'll convince FI to wear anything pink, even a flower corsage. Haha We thought about it front and back and tried to twist it so many ways, but there just isn't any way we can afford to bring in a photographer. The price would be close to 3000$ (Paying her trip, plus the price of her lowest package). Unless we win the lottery... There is one bit of good news though. At the Salons I participated in many contests, including hers, and I won!! I don't have the details yet, but basically I think it's a photo session at her studio. That'll be nice to get some professional pictures of FI and me. Thanks for the info for the jewelry guy. I'm francophone too, so that's not a problem. FI is strictly anglophone, but I can do the translation for him. LOL Looking forward to seeing the pics of your ring! We just booked our trip last night, so now it's time to focus on the invitations so that I can send them hopefully before March.

She reminds me of my uncle's wife. About 7-8 years ago, when my cousins were around 10 and 12 years old, there was some family drama mostly caused by this aunt. Things didn't go her way, so she has decided to completely cut contact with all of our family. Even my dad's sister (the uncle is my dad's brother), who tried to stay neutral through all of this, was returned birthday cards she had sent to the kids. This uncle is actually my godfather, but I didn't even get so much as a "congrats" the day of my previous wedding, even though I used to leave right next door to him (of course they did not come, they were "too tired"). They even sued my grandpa (my uncle's dad!!) for some silly reason! Some people are just nuts in the head, and it's better for us not to stress over them...

Welcome Luli! :-) I booked my trip! It is now official, we will be staying at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero, Cuba from April 30th, 2011 to May 7th, 2011. Very happy to have something officially done. :-)

It was ok. I got FI sold on the idea of chain sashes, even possibly pink ones! I also got to meet one photographer whose style I really like judging from her website. If only we had the budget for a photographer... alas we'll have to rely on friends and family taking pictures. As for bands, we only tried a couple. FI found a style we both like for his, and one of the jeweler showed me a very nice band, a style I hadn't thought of at all. I wish we had had more time to look at more though. We started going through every aisle at first, but then had to rush through the other half in like 5 minutes because we had to go pick up FI's daughter. I might be interested in doing it custom made, if you feel like sharing the name of the guy you met. :-)

When I asked Yahimara about the wedding gazebo she said she did not know when it would be completed. (I asked her a couple of weeks ago) As for booking the wedding date, I think they start taking reservations for 2011 in February. JNL, we are booking May 1st to May 8th as well, gonna go put down the deposit this week. Our preferred date would be May 5th. If ever we get married on the same day, do you have any preference for time of the day?

Regarding my previous post, we are suppose to go meet with our TA this week to put down our deposit. In a way, I'm super excited to move things forward and make it "official". But at the same time, I'm worried it might be a little too early to ask our guests to book? I wonder how long they will have to put down their deposit before we lost the rooms the TA has reserved for us...
