  2. Hmmm, I thought for sure I had writing a reply to this... Weird!! Anyway, here it is again. Thank you Khan! One last question: Do you sign papers for the symbolic ceremony? Does it look like a real ceremony?

  4. Need help from my fellow Montreal brides who can speak French. My family is all francophone, so I need to make the invitations in both languages. I want to make boarding passes invites. I remember seeing lots of cute little phrases on these, about oceans and waves and love, etc. I was wondering if any of you knew some cute beachy sayings in French? I can translate the ones I've found in English, but they don't sound as cute...
  5. Thanks! Helps a lot. One more question: What does the symbolic ceremony look/sound like? Would guests be able to tell that it is not a real ceremony (if we want to get legally married here before without telling anyone)? For example, do we sign paper just like we would in a real ceremony?
  6. I'm not getting married there, but I'd love to read a review and/or see pictures.
  7. Thank you Tilly for the pics. khanhandphil, that is a great review. Thank you!! I have a few questions though. Does it cost the same for a symbolic ceremony as he does for the legal one? Is the arch included in the package? Can it be a color other than white? All the decorations/flowers you mention, are they also included in the package or are they extras? If extras, how much do they cost? Thanks again!
  8. Thank you Christina and Butterfly. Butterfly, your dress is gorgeous!

You're right, what's done is done and the most important thing is that I have a beautiful dress that fits.
  10. I'm a Maggie bride too now. I went shopping today "just to look" as my wedding is only in 15 months. Of course what I feared would happen, happened. I fell in love with a Maggie dress (not surprising since I love their entire Destination collection from their online catalogue!). I'm thinking it may be a 2009 model because I can't find it on their website. I did find it somewhere else online, but sorry for the crappy quality of the picture (didn't have my camera). Style is JD8103
  11. Bought my dress today. Was suppose to just look around, but of course I had to fall in love with a dress and could not walk away, hard as I tried!! Sorry for the crappy quality, I forgot to take a picture (only had my cell anyway, didn't think I was gonna buy), and this is all I found online:
  12. So far the only couple/family who's had a problem with our DW, and who's said that if they come they'll book last minute to save money, is my aunt and uncle who each one alone makes more money than any other couple I know together.
  13. I really wanted to buy a knock off dress, or at the very least buy from an online store a dress I would have tried on in the store. But when I went to try dresses today I gave in to the pressure of the saleslady. Don't get me wrong, I love my dress, I just don't like the fact that I've already been able to find it online for almost half the price and it's only been 5 hours.
  14. You actually get a private dinner for free at 8:30pm? Wow! That's great! I thought I was going to have to share the restaurant with strangers!!
  15. The dinner is free at the Iberostar Laguna Azul (and I'm guessing any other Ibeorstar in Cuba as well, such as the Iberostar Varadero) if you take the late dinner (8:30pm to 10pm). I believe I saw plenty of other resorts that had free dinners as well when I was doing my research. I just don't remember specifics, as it was months ago.
  16. Do you have a picture of the pink parasols? I'd maybe be interested in both the pink and the blue. Would just depend on the price of shipping.
  17. How can you even think for one second that this dress would be too plain? It"s absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
  18. If they charge us for the dinner at 8:30, I'm eating at the buffet! LOL Seriously though, at the price they are charging for the entire wedding package, I would think that a not private dinner at one of the a la carte should just be included. I believe it is, but I'll wait for the response you guys get. :-) Which restaurant are you choosing? We are having a hard time making a decision. At first we wanted the Steakhouse, but after reading so-so reviews on trip advisor, I'm not so sure anymore. Yahimara mentioned that the seating is different in each restaurant. I wonder if there is a way to see what the seating will be like before making our decision...

That's always his line, "What's the big deal, we have the rest of our lives together to hang out," etc. Oh, I've heard that one before!! What I would reply is that we never know what's going to happen. Tragedy could strike us tomorrow, and then we'd regret not spending the time together before. Or just say that I don't want to live for the future, I want to live NOW. Good luck with all of this, hope you have a happy ending.

  22. Awesome thread!! I'm trying to keep my budget under 8000$ Since our wedding package is 1000$ and it might cost us close to 1500$ in getting certificates translated and legalized (FI is TOTALLY opposed to the idea of getting the paperwork done here and having a symbolic ceremony there), that means we REALLY have to save money on the other things.
