  1. Mine is this weekend too Erica!! I just had my hair trial tonight. We're into the home stretch!!! So exciting!
  2. By the way girls.... I had to get my dress altered to fit me. I got my measurements rechecked and I'm the same size as what I sent them but the dress is too big! So now I have to pay another $95 to a local dressmaker to correct this. She reads Chinese and was able to see that the paper said the dress was those measurements but when she re-measured me it was clear that I was the same size but the dress was 6 inches too big!
  3. It's beautiful! What a great job you did! I wish ours was that nice. I can understand why you'd want people to visit it!
  4. Hey Jasmin! Welcome from another fellow Albertan! Happy planning!!
  5. Welcome from a fellow Canuck! Happy planning!!
  6. Welcome from a fellow Canadian bride! Good luck with your DW!!

That's one of the changes they made to the dress that I'm really happy with. The original dress that I tried on at the bridal store was very stiff and VERY heavy. This one isn't at all which makes it perfect for a DW!
  8. jackie c - yes I sent measurements to them but I've also had some major body changes in the last year (66 lbs down) and so what I have left on my body has redistributed unfortunately. It shouldn't be any big deal to get it altered down the side seams. Sucks but I should have thought of that and sent my measurements to them a little smaller than I actually was!
  9. We met 3.5 yrs ago on Plentyoffish.com! We started out dating, moved to friends, lost touch for about a year and then 1 year ago, we found each other again and here we are! We're best friends and in that year we lost touch, I missed him terribly. I always knew he was IT... it just took him a little while to realize it
  10. We received our first gift on the weekend. Contrary to etiquette, we're already enjoying it.... its Windows 7! We couldn't wait! As for when we're sending out thank yous? We're going to do them after we get back from our honeymoon we decided.
  11. FINALLY got my dress on and tied by someone other than me! I'm very happy with it.... except its a bit too big. The corset back had to be tied completely down to nothing to make it fit properly on me so I'll be getting it taken in a little. Otherwise, its perfect! Here's better pics (I look about 4 ft tall in some of the pics from the angle she took them at!!) lolol Here you can see how tight it had to be to fit
  12. Amymarie - I got a referral to "Diamonds Photography" here in Edmonton from a friend. They do some great work! Check them out if you're interested!
  13. Yes definitely email them again sam33. I ordered mine from them on Jan 29 and I've had it for a few days already. Then again, my wedding is sooner so maybe they prioritize by date??
  14. We did! But we had some connections due to family being in the promotional industry so I don't really have any recommendations for you. Good luck finding something you love
  15. I recommend the hotel we're using. There's something for most age groups. The Gran Bahia Principe. It consists of the Coba, Akumal & Tulum all in one big property. Trip Advisor considers it #1 in Akumal. HTH! Good luck picking your location!

Everyone always warns against even shipping your decorations/favours down ahead of time for this reason. I would rather fold it very tightly and deal with the steaming/pressing once there than send it ahead of time!
  17. Thank you for this great review! We're so excited for our wedding at the Akumal Beach! If you have pictures, I'd love to see them!!!
  18. Thanks! The thing I notice the most that's different from the original is that its ALOT lighter. The original dress was pretty heavy. This one feels so light and floaty. I'm glad because I was concerned I'd be too hot!!
  19. Another military wife to be! Well.... for about 2 months My FI has just finished a career in the army (20 yrs) and is retiring on a medical pension in June. He just received his 7th medal this week... this one was the "Sacrifice Medal" which was given to him after getting injured on his 4th and last tour....Afghanistan in 2006.
  20. Ok, I did the best I could with the tie back. It's not easy to tie a dress on your own!! This is going to fit alot better once its tied properly but you get the gist. I had to take the pics in the bathroom so FI didn't see. lol There's a couple of tack points that I think I'll be removing because they feel a bit stiff and I'd like it to lay a bit more naturally but otherwise, I love it!!! The colour is grainy on the pic because I didn't use a flash but its a sharp white.
  21. Thank you for the info on Continental! Our wedding is next month and we were wondering about this too!
  22. I need someone to tie it up for me!! ahhhhh its killing me that its sitting in the bag in my room. I think its calling my name.... CHHHEEERRRYYYLLLLLL try me on.... CHERRYYYLLLL don't you love me? LOL
