  1. Prices in Canada are stupidly high for airline fees usually. We get bent over all the time when it comes to pricing because there's just not the competition that the US has. As for the OP... honestly? Its a crap shoot and there's just no way to know. For our weding, the best thing we did was hassle our guests to book immediately on the group rate. The regular rate was 300-400 more per person (depending on departure location) after our group rate expired. We looked online on our own for ages trying to get a better price and there wasn't one to be found. In addition, because our group is (almost) all booked with Signature, we get 1 free trip and the peace of mind of knowing that our TA has the whole group's bookings done together in case of something crazy happening to our trip.... like the swine flu craziness from earlier this year that cancelled flights!
  2. Our honeymoon is week 2 at the resort we're being married at. So I think our honeymoon works out to about $400 extra each.
  3. Krista, my TA is Kelly Bergquist. She is also another bride's on this board. She is in Drayton Valley, AB and is the ower of Terra Travel. If you want to contact her to see if she can help you, feel free to PM me for her # or google her
  4. I wouldn't have done a DW without using a TA. Takes most of the stress off of you and gives the guests someone to ask the millions of questions that they all will definitely ask! My TA is a friend and she cc's me some of the questions. People I never thought were high maintenance, turned out to be when it came to just putting down a deposit! Plus, if you have a good experienced one, they'll get you the best rates and perks for your business. Doesn't cost you a thing to use them. Also, if something (GOD FORBID) happens where the flights are cancelled, when everyone uses the same TA, they can rebook you and keep your group together. They're WELL worth it!
  5. We have a tight timeframe for our wedding as well and have discussed doing this. I'm not thrilled with it but if I want good light for pics and time with our guests and to enjoy our marimba that we are getting, it's a smart idea. Our ceremony is at 5pm and its 35 min long. The sun will already be on its way down when we're finishing up so this way it will be more relaxed. I'm trying to be chill about some of these non-traditional things we've decided... like getting legal'd before we go!
  6. We're likely doing bubbles. they're fun and look so pretty floating around
  7. Another Gran Bahia Principe vote! We're not married yet but we're going there over new years to check it out before our wedding there in April. We're stoked!
