We are getting married at the Westin and we are using the wedding coordinator there. We are also using all the vendors that the Westin works with. Most resorts will have certain vendors they like to use and they will have a wedding coordinator to help you. I agree with MDlady and it is never too early. Since you have so much time if you can afford it, I would go on a visit prior. We would have loved to do that but we weren't able to. I think seeing everything in person will help you make decisions.

My wedding is at the Westin this October but I can’t help you with prices. All the prices I have include airfare and everyone booked AI at the resort so I am not sure what the per room cost without AI is. It won’t hurt if you contact a few travel agents and see what they say. Make sure you get them to give you a group discount too. My TA got my family a group discount and there were only 6 of us that booked together. If you want her contact info just PM me, but I think you should definitely check out a few TA’s and see what kind of prices you can get before you start searching again.

I am a slow loser too. When I lost my weight and got to my goal weight I never lost more than a pound a week. Ha, I been wedding dress shopping, found a dress and it is too small now!!! I only need to lose 10lbs to get back into it though. I was just thinking about starting a thread for meal ideas! Hmm.....I think my favorite go to meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner is my egg burrito. I take a low carb tortilla (1pt), 1/2 cup egg whites (1pt), 1 oz low fat cheese (2pts), fat free sour cream (0pts), and salsa. I will try and think of more and post them as I go.

First, CONGRATS!!!!! Hope you are enjoying your honeymoon! Lol, I was just at a DW in Mexico in April and the resort had scales in every room. I was VERY happy ours didn't work. I need some motivation too. I am leader (leaders aren't perfect) and I need to get my weight down. I was 135lbs last year at this time and I felt AMAZING. Then with holidays, birthdays, busy season at work (I'm an accountant) and buying a new house I gained 18lbs. I HAVE TO get this weight off!!!! I have my BD session on 7/11 and I wish I would be 135, but I would take being in the 140's at least. Maybe we should motivate each other!!

I’m so sorry! Men are definitely sensitive when it comes to money. I think it is good that you guys are going to go talk to someone. Maybe you should consider postponing the wedding for now. If he is really depressed about money and not being able to provide for his family, getting married and stepping in as your husband might be putting too much pressure on him since he doesn’t have a job and isn’t able to provide the way he feels a husband should be able to. And if he is having cold feet, then again the wedding is putting more pressure on him and it might be good to push back the wedding and try and work through some things.

Does anyone know if there are any requirements if you are going to be legally married before you get to Aruba? My FI and I are going to do the civil ceremony here in Pennsylvania first. I am assuming I would need a copy of our marriage license but is there anything else I need to bring?

Yeah, I don’t know how people do it. My FI and I need both of our salaries too. We would both like me to stay home, but we need the money, but then if I work we need day care. I think after the wedding I am going to hold my breath and hope it all works out!

Wow, this is a great idea! My wedding in October 2010 and I am looking for black or silver/grey sashes. We are expecting around 20 people, so I would need at least that many. If not, in November I will post mine!

Ohhh, that is a tough one. Did anyone make their reservations yet? I know you just sent out STDs, but I wasn’t sure if maybe immediate family or close friends already booked. If they did you might what to check with them about switching dates to see if it possible in case people were planning on arriving on the 12th. If no one booked and you aren’t attached to your date (our date is our anniversary and we wouldn’t change it) then I would move the date. It’s not like you are moving it by weeks or even a few days, just one. And it seems like you aren’t too excited about the chapel that is available. It’s your and your FI’s wedding so I say choose the chapel you guys want and go from there.

I went dress shopping wanting a white dress, but I ended up with ivory. Actually it is more off white than ivory (as I find out when I am getting accessories and they are darker than my dress!). The color I think looks great with my skin tone too. I think you should go with an open mind and see what happens! You don’t want to limit yourself and say you don’t want one color or the other because you never know what you will fall in love with until you try it on.

Love. So relaxing. The new M&M pretzels?

Well my FI and I went a little nuts for our OOT bags. We really wanted things in there that we thought people would like and everyone is paying a lot of money to come. So far (I’m not done yet) we got mini liquor bottles (5 different bottles per bag and we have 12 bags), puzzle books, the bags from Vistaprint, bug repellent wipes, and Advil and Aleve. I still need to get mini sunscreen, mints, small bags of chips and bags of the new M&M Pretzels. Ha, I hope we don’t have an issue with getting everything there. The only other things we need to bring with us (other then our wedding attire) is the sand ceremony frame and vases, the sand, and the favors (personalized playing cards). All the other decorations and things will be at the resort. I have my parents saving their extra suitcases for us if we need it. I know my suitcase will be overflowing with just vacation stuff and my FI’s will be packed too so I will have to have at least one extra suitcase, if not 2.

I always loved the mini lounge chair seating cards in a big tray with sand. I wanted to do that, but because of the low number of people coming and the fact I spent way too much on the OOT bags, I need to cut back on a few things.

We aren’t doing assigned seating either and none of that other stuff. I’m sure the resort will have something to cut the cake and we only have 18 of us (including my FI & I and if everyone really books) so I figure people can pick their own seats. Oh other people definitely don’t have an urgency to book, but back in October/November when I was picking my resort and making our reservations I thought my head would explode if I didn’t book everything fast enough!!
