  1. Where I am from the bride doesn't give a hostess a gift, just a handwritten thank card. I didn't even know about till here, but I would have done what I did anyway. I don't have BMs but my mom throw me a shower and I took us to get 90 minute massages and then dinner after. I was going to do facials, but they were all booked. I did hand write all my thank you cards to everyone. I think you need to do whatever is in your budget.
  2. Yes! I think this is the first time I worked out and it wasn't 8pm! I did a class called H30 Beach Body Blast. It is a 30 minute cardio/toning class.

I do recommend letting them remove the gel though, I tried soaking mine in acetone and removing myself and I ended up peeling off the top layer of my nails. I won't do that again! Yes. I went to three different places. The first place was horrible, and each new place got a little bit better than the last but at least one nail chipped or feel off after a few days.
  4. I wish I had good experiences with this like the rest of you. I have gotten this 3 times already and none of them came out well. The first time the color was suppose to be red and it came out little-girl-bubble-gum-pink and the nails were actually sticky and not hard and smooth. The second two times the nails chipped and ripped off with a few days and it torn up my nail when they came off. I just got it done again on Friday hoping for a better experience and a nail already came off today.
  5. Confession : My photographer for my boudoir session cancelled on me yesterday. She is sick and didn’t think that the pictures would be there best if she wasn’t 100% and I totally understand and since I was really counting on her to help me through it I rescheduled. I was disappointed I didn’t get to do the photos yesterday since I was really looking forward to it, BUT I am actually really happy it was pushed back. Now I have three more weeks to lose more weight so I feel better about myself! And get rid of these crazy tan lines!

I hope none of you have to go through this. It's very traumatic, but I am doing much better. It's been 10 days now and my HCG levels are almost back to zero. *sigh I am so sorry! This is just something no one should have to go through.
  7. need a shower : Nope! Just shower a few hours ago.
  8. Hmmmm nachos Last night- 60 minutes on the treadmill Tonight- 60 minutes of treadmill again or maybe the elliptical. I should do a dvd to start toning up, but I have just been doing whatever gets me to workout.

I usually picture someone I am mad at and it just happens to be the FI sometimes. It usually makes me feel better. Confession #1 I know we've agreed to wait and that our finances are not at a place they should be for us to be starting a family...But I wanted to cry when I got my period last week(the first one since the honeymoon.) Before the wedding it was, I wanna wait until we're married to try, and now that we are my mind knows it's not the right time but my heart reeeeally wants a baby. Confession #2 I also want to curl up into a ball and cry because we STILL don't have our professional wedding pictures. Everything didn't go hunky dory at the wedding and I was all excited to see the pictures people put up on facebook for me so I could see that they were all enjoying themselves, but I really wanted to see the professional pics to know that it was all worth it(especially since this guy was anything but professional, even if he is talented and has a good portfolio). And as of right now, it's been over a month since the wedding and I haven't heard from our photographer in 2 WEEKS! No preview or teasers or even an update e-mail. He said he had to cancel our appointment to pick up the pictures 2 weeks ago because he needed one more day and hasn't answered any of our calls or e-mails since. My mom sent him an e-mail today and gave him until Monday to contact us. Then she's going to do a paypal dispute on the deposit. That should get his attention. But it's not about the money, those are our wedding pictures!!! I'm also pissed off about it because DH's Gram turned 74 yesterday and all she asked us for as a birthday present was a small album of wedding pictures she could keep in her purse to show off to people. We both love this woman so much and it made me so mad that 5 weeks after our wedding we had nothing to give her but some blurry facebook pictures and a promise of an album soon. Phew...thanks for the vent. Sorry if I sound like a B....:/ I know that once we are married I am going to want a baby ASAP but we will need to get things in order first and I won’t be happy about it. It is better to make sure you are ready first and it will be forth it when you finally start to have kids. I am so sorry about your pictures! Hopefully the photographer will come through and you will get some great professional pictures.

  12. There are so great recipes on here. I am really excited to try the skillet lasagna and the Mexican chicken lasagna! Ok, so tonight I am making a pasta salad. I will have it as dinner, lunch or as a side for another dinner. It makes a lot so you will have leftovers for a while. 1 box Smart Taste rigatoni, cooked 2 98% Fat Free Traditional Ham Steaks (Hatfield), (cut into cubes) 1 block Crackerbarrel 2% Sharp White Cheese (cut into cubes) 2 pints Cherry tomatoes 2 Cucumbers, peeled and cut into cubes 1 16oz Fat Free Italian Dressing Combine all ingredients and refrigerate at least an hour, better if overnight. You can add any veggies you want. I usually defrost some frozen spinach, drain the water out and add that in too with maybe some defrosted corn. A little parmesan cheese on top is good too. For the ingredients listed above it makes thirteen 8 ounce servings. One 8 ounce serving is 232 calories, 6 grams of fat, 4 grams of fiber and 4 WW points.

He pisses me off sometimes!!! And this is twice now in the last week... Uh, I HATE the word nag! Men can be so difficult sometimes!! Confession: In February I scheduled my BD session and I was about 14lbs away from my goal weight so I booked my session for July 11 (this Sunday) to give me time to get my weight down. So what do I do? Gain another 11lbs. We had a lot going on in the past 4 months, but I have no one to blame but myself. A part of me just wants to cancel the session and not do it at all. And also, I don’t fit into my wedding dress. It fit in January, but I can’t zipper it up anymore and I don’t have enough time to lose the 21lbs I need to to get my dress altered in time for the wedding. And I am a Weight Watchers leader!!!!! I help and motivate my members every week and I’m not even at my own goal! I feel like such a hypocrite and every time I think about my dress not fitting and how fat I will look in my BD pictures it gets me so upset.
  14. What a great thread! I will have to add some of my recipes!

First thing - and a really important one : don't try to lose too fast or it can actually be dangerous for your health - you can lose a lot of metabolites, of muscle mass (which is the lean mass but also the heavier), your skin risks to be flappy because it won't have the time to un-stretch, you will be tired + worst of all it will be VERY hard to maintain. A healthy weight loss is MAX 2lb per week - that's 25 weeks minimum (6 months). And just trying to be realistic - 2lb per week is A LOT after the first 3-4 weeks. So in order not to be disappointed and lose courage you should really plan on 1 year rather than 2-3 months ! And 6 months should be a minimum time for your goal. Somebody mentioned WW. Honestly I believe they have the best approach because : - they have great support groups that can help you with the motivation when you have a hard time with this - their approach combines diet (in the sense of healthy approach to your diet rather than "slimming" diet) and exercise which is the best - they never make you feel guilty if you temporarily fall off track - it's a long-term approach. A plan you can stick to for years and still have a life (go out, have family dinners etc) - they give you great sense of nutrition and dietetics and portions. After that you can chose exercise plans, tapes, etc but this is just an "add-on". With WW I lost 30lb in 6 months and I'm not going to say it was easy, but it sure worked... If you don't like the meetings they also have the online solution. That is something you can actually start from home, without going to a meeting - because if you're lacking motivation I can totally see you postponing finding a meeting lol ! So you just register online and that allows you to get started with the program, the points, the recipes, plus they have a forum so you can find support there - looks like you like forums so that could work for you And you can register what you eat online instead of writing it down, it's easier, too. Good luck !! Ayita took the words right out of my mouth. I am a Weight Watchers leader and lost 30lbs on the program. WW teaches you what you need to know for LIFETIME success. I love the program and if you follow it, it works. And definitely give yourself time to lose the weight.
  16. Why don’t you try David’s Bridal? They usually have dresses for $99 and you will be able to try them on in the store. They also have some online too as ayita said. I got my dress from DB and they ordered it for me and it came in only a week after they ordered it.

I wouldn't even suggest you taking out a loan if you wanted to have the fancy AHR...but you don't, so definitely don't do it. This is why people grow to hate their in laws lol...hang in there and do what you want. They already got married. Your turn. I agree! DON'T DO IT!!!! You chose to have a DW and that means that the wedding and wedding reception is at a destination. If your in-laws what some big lavish AHR then tell them they need to pay for it. Why would you pay for something you don’t even want? And why would you go into debt for it That is just crazy to me. We are having a “dinner” after our wedding and since my parents insisted on it they are paying for all of it. You need to talk to you FI and either him only or the two of you need to talk to the in-laws ASAP.
  18. We are going the traditional route and I am walking down to the wedding march.
  19. Well I love “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts but since we are doing a combo father/daughter mother/son dance and my FI hates country he said no to it. We decided on “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole. It is perfect for us and works with our music for the cocktail hour, dinner, and our first song which is “When I Fall in Love” by Nat King Cole.
  20. Our song is going to be “When I Fall in Love” by Nat King Cole. I have found two versions of the song; a very, very, veeeerrrryyyy slow version and a normal slow song tempo version. We want the normal version but with an extra minute or so added since the song is less than 2 minutes.

And I wasn't exaggerating about how completely comfortable they were, either -- they were like a flip-flop dream come true after wearing heels for the ceremony! The satin straps are so gorgeous and since it's fabric, it won't rub or irritate the skin between your toes, either! FABULOUS!! What a shame they are discontinuing them because they are perfect Oh the bag will be perfect! I was just thinking after I ordered them I should get a cute bag for them so I can have them carried to the reception area and when I change my shoes I can put my high heels in the bag. Perfect! I saw the fabric straps and that is really what sold me. I am not comfortable in the rubber flip flips and some flip flips with leather straps so it was important that whatever I got are comfortable. I don’t want to take my high heels off only to get blisters from my wedges! I wonder why they are discounting them, but I never been so happy to be a size 9 (the only size left in the ivory)!
