  2. I will be doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and then a workout dvd. It was going to be the 30 day Shred or Yoga by Jillian Michaels, but I am too sore from yesterday's kettleball workout. Maybe a cardio Turbo Jam workout for 30 minutes. 30 day shred is a great work out! You will love it!
  3. Not when I went dress shopping, but I ended up with an off-white dress anyway and I love it on me. What is one thing about your wedding that you feel you have to have (other than FI)?
  4. Dislike... but I have to do it anyway going to a baseball game
  5. I got my bug spray wipes at Target, and I am going to get the mini sunscreen at minimusbiz.com if I can't find it cheaper. I got all my medicines (Advil, Aleve, etc.) from my Mom. She works in a doctor's office and got them all for free.
  6. Don't customize the bags. It will turn into a HUGE project. You can just give everyone the same thing and the guests might even trade things. I know my guests will do that. One of the things we put in the bags is 5 different mini liquor bottles and some people don’t drink and they will trade for the snacks (as they already told me) and the drinkers will trade for the bottles they really like). And everyone wins that way.
  7. I had my bags done from Vista Print during a free tote bag sale. I didn't put our names or anything on them since I know I wouldn't reuse a bag with someones name on it.
  8. I am happy that things seem to work out. That is good they finally came around and are paying for majority of the wedding and you and your FI are only paying for the optional things. It’s good you aren't counting on the gifts to cover the costs because they probably won’t. No one can blame you for the feelings you have towards your new in-laws but maybe after some time and after the wedding those feelings will slowly go away. Good luck with everything and I hope this is the only bump in the road you guys have!
  9. Well I always knew that even I would have to have a job when I have kids not for money reason, but for my sanity. I know I will need to be out in the world and talk to people and have conversations about things other than children. I think a part of me is upset knowing that if I put my child in day care I will miss all of their milestones and their most important moments like their first word and their first steps. I think that is what upset sets me most; that and knowing that another person is caring and nurturing my child for 40 some hours a week.
  10. I guess I could just tell the DJ the type of music I want for the dinner and reception and hope for the best. That makes me worry though. I would have loved to hire a steel drum player or a guitarist or something for the cocktail hour, but its not in the budget.

YUP. if they don't plan to pay for it - we're not going through with it. if they think it's too expensive THEY should take a loan out for it. WTF is RIGHT. thanks everyone. i'll let you know how this goes down. ugghh, after this i might be one of those ppl who doesn't like going to their in-laws...... I am very curious on how the talks went. Any updates?
  12. Did my second 30 minute work out of the day on the ellipitcal.
  13. After a discussion with the FI I was wondering what everyone was planning with the babies involving day care and work. Are you planning on staying home and watching the kids? Are you going to work and put the kids in day care? Are you going to work and have a family member watch them? Are you going to work part time and have them in a day care or with a family member part time? I was never fond of day cares (no offense to anyone) and I always just figured I would either stay home or if we needed the money I would have my mom watch the kids. Well we can’t afford for me to stay home and my FI is dead set against my mom watching the kids (long story). I was just wondering what everyone’s thoughts were. Thanks.
  14. Wednesday July 14, 2010 2:29pm – Sitting at my desk at work trying to drink a ton of water to cool myself down from my Zumba class I did at lunch while trying to look very busy even though I am sooooooo bored!
  15. Don't know, never had it.... but it is cake Uncooked Brownie batter?

So to fit into the confession thread: I confess I'm slightly embarrased that I only have one girlfriend, and as such, only have one "bridesmaid/MOH" in my wedding party. Also: hugs to all the "childless by choice" ladies. You have no idea how comforting it is to know there are other couples like us! It’s good to know I am not alone! I had friends when I was young but we moved when I was in elementary school. And then I had friends from the new school to 8th grade then my parents sent me to a private school and all my friends went to public. It seemed circumstances were against me. It’s good to know I am not alone. I had my one friend of 17 years but she kind of went off in her own world and we ended up going our separate ways. If we didn’t (which only happened last year) she would have been my MOH. EKKKK that sounds selfish I don’t think that is selfish at all. I actually just started to have those feelings when I went to a family friendly beach for the weekend with my FI a few weekends ago. I saw all the families there and even though I really want kids, I just kept thinking how it must be so much more difficult going places and doing things when you have kids.
  18. I agree with everyone and it isn't rude. She can call the TA herself and get her own quotes.
  19. I agree with Bachatabride and I can understand why a couple wouldn't want children even though we plan on have several. I think people should be able to respect your decision. Confession : I am friendless. I am very shy around people and have social anxiety so it makes trying to make friends very hard. I had a couple friends that I had for 17 years but I had a falling out with one, then with another. It has been this way most of my life but I am beyond thankful to have my FI! He is definitely my world.
  20. I love # 2 on you. I agree with the others and that dress shows off your figure the best.
  21. Those of you that are having/had a DJ, do/did you give him a list of songs to play? I thought that the DJ would just know what to play, right? Well I got a form to fill out from my WC for the DJ and on it says to attach a list of songs to play. Is the list songs that I have to hear or suggestions or am I picking out all the music? Also, what is the difference in your music selections for your cocktail hour and dinner? Dinner I want classic music like Frank Sinatra, but I have no idea for cocktail hour but I want to stay in the same classical theme as the dinner music. Any suggestions?
  22. I got this recipe out of this cookbook that I got from my bridal shower: Amazon.com: Easy Skillet Meals Good Housekeeping Favorite Recipes: Delicious One-Dish Cooking (Favorite Good Housekeeping Recipes) (9781588162076): The Editors of Good Housekeeping: Books 1lb chicken 2 ounces thinly slice part skim mozzarella 2 ounces thinly sliced ham 1 5-6ounce package of fresh spinach 1 tbps butter ½ cup reduced fat chicken broth 2 tbps balsamic vinegar 1/8 tsp black pepper You melt the butter in the pan, cook the chicken on Med-High for 6 minutes and med for 6mins on other side. Combine broth, vinegar, and pepper and add to chicken in pan at med-high heat and cook for one minute. After minute, remove from heat, add 1 slice ham and one slice cheese to each chicken breast and cover pan for 3 minutes. Serve over fresh spinach. It was really good and only was 5pts per serving and VERY filling.
  23. We are doing a bag of chips and either a Hershey bar or an individual sized bag of M&M pretzels if I can find them. We are also including mints. Our resort is either AI or not; you can book either way. We figured since the mini bar isn't included in the AI and eveyone loves snacks, we would throw some in the bags.
