Ileana did do it. I am secretly obsessed with her! Who is doing your wedding? I think they are all good over at TI. -

So cute, your story gave me the chills! I live here in NYC and had a little movie going on in my head as I was reading. Best of luck to you! -
Janine! We want to see your pics NOW. I check the Tropical Imaging blog everyday hoping they will have posted at least something! Just so all you ladies know, I got married at The Somerset, where Janine just got married, and we became friends through this site and I hope that some of my advice paid off. I am living vicariously through Janine for the last few months, wishing it was me all over again! She did an incredible job and I am sure everything was fantastic!

I sent them all out! Phew! Just in time before I see everyone for Thanksgiving! I basically wrote the same blurb for everyone. "Thank you for your generous gift, sorry you couldn't make it, hope all is well and hope to see you soon!" Hope that works! Only 5 months late, but better late than never, right?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share these photos with everyone. Ileana from Tropical Imaging is out of this world. I just got married, but I am already wanting to get pregnant just saw Ileana can take more photos of us. She is incredible. I was nervous because I didn't want to "trash" my dress, I loved it too much, so we were gentle. It dried so quickly and everything looks great. Hope you like them as much as I do. She delivered just what I wanted! Link to the blog: http://www.brilliant.tc/2010/11/turks-caicos-trash-dress/ Link to the slide show: http://vimeo.com/16853019

Hi Ladies, I am back and wanted to let you know that I did it! I went in with my gown up to my knees, and all seems fine. The tulle dried in seconds, I swear and the lining underneath took some time, but I left it outside on our balcony down when we were on the island for 3 days, and packed it up and brought it home. The water never touched the beading. I need to get it cleaned now and put away, how sad. Here is a link to our pictures! LOVE THEM! http://www.brilliant.tc/2010/11/turks-caicos-trash-dress/ Ileana is AMAZING. I told her that if she leaves Turks, I will follow her to wherever she goes to take pictures of us. So, I have been getting many angry emails, texts, facebook posts, you name it, on how late I am with my Thank You notes, but you know what, they needed to be perfect! Some people laugh it off and say I have a year to send them out, but needless to say I have been to many weddings since mine, and I have received Thank You notes from all of them already. Oh well! After countless emails, Ginger from Beyond Design on Etsy created these for my husband and I. I was disappointed that I never got to use a Postcard for our STD, we did boarding passes which were amazing, so I thought, hey, why can't I do a Thank You postcard? No reason, right? Ginger was so patient with me as I changed this and that back to this back to that, and now here is the finished product. TaDa...

Hi Jen, I recently got married in Turks & Caicos. I am from NYC and know a bunch of amazing people here in NY. I was however told that Customs gives a very hard time to vendors who are not from the island. I don't know where you wedding will be, so maybe it's a different scenario, but I'd hate for you to run into any problems. Usually people who don't live on the island/ country where the wedding will take place will have to apply for a work permit, and if they get approved, it's somewhere around $500. They sometimes are given a hard time at the airport, and I also think that local vendors happen to know great spots around the island/ hotel, that maybe a photographer from home does not know of. They also know how the weather is, the lighting, reflections in the ocean, etc, and I think those are all important factors in picture perfect photos. Perhaps you can use this local photographer for your engagement session in your hometown and then you will have beautiful contrasting tropical photos for your wedding. Just thought I'd share my opinion. Best of luck with planning! Enjoy every single minute.

Hi Ladies, so of course I am freaking out because we are taking our trash the dress photos at the end of October, and now I am so worried that the ocean water may ruin my dress. I don't really want to "trash the dress", but I do want amazing, unique, fashion type photos, and from what I have seen, pictures in the water are AMAZING. My dress is all beaded on top, with a tulle bottom, no beads from the hips down. I called a cleaning company here in NYC and she made me nervous and was like yeah, it could ruin it, it could get moldy, it could change the texture of the fabric, etc, etc. She freaked me out. We are flying back down to Turks just to have our TTD session with Ileana from Tropical Imaging. I'm not so concerned with sitting on the sand or anything like that, but the water scares me. I think if the dress was taffeta or satin, or organza maybe it would leave a water mark, but tulle? Does anyone have any experience? I love my dress and have no plans of selling it, or wearing it again, but I just want to keep it nice and pretty and know that I have it, and that all the time I spent perfecting this perfect Reem Acra gown wasn't wasted. Please help calm me down!

Hi all, I think everyone will be well taken care of. Monique was my WC back in June and I have to be honest that her being the WC was huge at first in deciding on The Somerset compared to other hotels. She was great with emails, phone calls, etc, but somewhere closer to the wedding something changed. Not sure if she got super busy, or other things were going on in her life, but once I arrived on the island I noticed she did have a lot of other things going on. At my wedding, there were many things I wish she had done differently, and being that I am an event planner here in NY, I noticed every detail and perhaps was overly critical, but I do wish that I had hired an independent WC for the day/ night of my wedding. SOOO, I think you guys "lucked out" and you will all be very happy with Diane. Just my thoughts!

We went to the Four Seasons in Pennisula Papagayo a few years back and it's AMAZING. There are 2 different beaches, and it's gorgeous with monkeys and iguanas just roaming around. The service is incredible and I know the def do weddings there. They would probably do anything you asked. I remember Pink, the singer, got married there a few years back. Check it out!

Hi everyone, does anyone know when my status title changes? Is it by posts, is there a number I need to reach? I am feeling frustrated. I read stuff ALL the time, so I don't feel like a Noob. Booo.... =(

We arrived for our wedding week on Monday, most guests didn't come till Thursday, wedding was on Saturday. On Sunday, we moved to the other side of the island for 5 days, stayed at The Amanyara. I felt like I was on a totally different island, it actually took some getting used to. I would highly recommend for any Turks & Caicos brides to look into The Amanyara for a couple of days. I just wish they didn't allow children, or that there was a separate pool for kids. Lots of honeymooners, lots of privacy, very romantic. I call it my MiniMoon, everyone laughs! Hope to go to the Maldives for 1 yr anniversary and will be same time as my 30th birthday AND I like to say it will be a Babymaking Moon combined with Honeymoon. Ha!

I brought starfish down from NYC to Turks & Caicos as they were part of my escort card setup. I had no problem brining them down and each guest, well each couple brought one back. It was literally one starfish in their luggage, I think it's okay. I would do it. I had zero issues!
