Sorry about your experience with DW. I am currently using them and my planner (Kristi) has been fantastic. I am concerned about budget and she has been very honest about resorts and understanding about what we want. Good luck planning!

My fiance and I are planning a destination wedding and don't know what to do about the save the dates/invitations. Do you send save the dates to everyone you want to invite, no matter if you know they aren't coming? I don't want family members or friends to be offended not to get a save the date if we can't foresee them making the trip. Should we or our parents tell everyone what we're planning and see if they're interested in attending first? Our wedding will not be until June 2011 but we want to give guests as much advance notice as possible to plan and save money. Thanks! -
Hello, Has anyone used Destinationweddings.com before? I am starting to plan a destination wedding for June 2011 (probably Mexico) and feel overwhelmed with all the choices out there. The site seems very reputable but I am hoping to find some recommendations from this forum. Thanks!

My fiance and I are planning a wedding in Mexico and wanted some input on these two resorts. How much nicer is the Royal compared to the Gran Porto Real? We've decided to pay for the wedding and our parents' trips ourselves so we don't want to spend a ton more if the Real is a nice resort in its own right. We like to option of having a higher class resort for guests who want that and a more inexpensive option for others. Thanks. Kate
