I think that information is a good idea to those who you know are going. I don't think you want to overwhelm people who probably won't attend and make them feel guilty.

I think a couple events are a good idea but this is also a vacation for guests so I think it is important that they feel free to enjoy themselves as they see fit.

I was curious about this as well but wasn't sure we wanted the added expense of a welcome dinner. That being said, our families have never met so I want to make sure we have something were introductions can be made. The welcome cocktail party sounds like a great idea! -

If it is important to you to have the same number then ask your friend but explain the situation. I think it is best to just be honest. Otherwise I say just keep it as is. I don't think the numbers need to match up. -
