Thanks girls for the advice!!!... I definitely didn't want to come off as "needy" for gifts, money..etc. I just expected more cards or acknowledgement from the family on both sides. We only sent out 50 invites so we always wanted a small wedding. It seems that even the ones that I invited and they couldn't make it haven't called, congratulated or anything since we have been home. Maybe I shouldn't have said "cheap," let me replace that with "inconsiderate" instead. It was never about wanting gifts, maybe just a call or card to say congrats would have been great. Then again, these were the same family members that didn't even bother to accept or decline the invitation, I don't know why I expected a congrats afterwards.
I am over that... I had the most AMAZING day of my life when I married my soulmate, I won't let them rain on my parade!
Tricia... I asked our daughter if she wants a baby brother or sister today and she said "if you want to give me one that's ok, but I think I want a puppy instead" that was my dose of funny for today! I imagine I will be on the bandwagon after a 6-12 more months, I don't want to wait too long. Our daughter will be 6 in May and will be really into her school routine that I can handle starting all over.
So Susie..tell your friend to make booties for the last bride to get knocked up too please .
