Laughed it off, but deep down felt pissed that I drove all that way and couldn't even have it pinned for alterations. Tried on my dress, which I still love, and pranced around the store for a brief moment. The consultant goes to help me unzip, but the zipper is stuck. Yes thats right........I am stuck in my brand new Pronovias wedding gown. I'm laughing, while two more consultants attempt to get me out of my dress. OMG, the zipper is broken and they couldn't get me out. The only option was to CUT me out of my dress. To make the day worse, I couldn't find any sexy heels......everything is looking very winter in the stores, so I am going to wait a few more weeks and pray that spring stock starts to arrive. What a day......haha......all I can do is laugh and try not to think of how stressful these next 4 weeks are going to be. I hope you all have a great weekend (just compare is to being cut out of your wedding dress and anything will sound good.....haha) Oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear that! yes scissors and wedding dress in the same sentence should only be used by professonals. AND it was a Pronovias...which one did you get Teneil? Where are our pics lady? -

My memory sucks sometimes though, could be wrong. I should also say that I had a 2.5 hr session that would have called for 3-5 outfit changes, but I was SUPER late and only had about an hr and 10 mins and she was able to shoot over 115 images and I still had 3 outfit changes. you don't need a super long session time to get great quality shots. So that could be a negotiation tool when getting a good rate. If you went the group route you could benefit from the discount if price is really an issue. I looked at it as an investment. It will be just as important in 10 years when you look over it and say damn I was hot..lol. And your hubby will definitely appreciate it. Good luck

Thanks ladies. No I NEVER thought in a million years I would feel that comfortable, nope no way. I still think I am a little nutso! I feel like I don't have to see you ladies all day at work or something, so it doesn't feel so freakish.. LOL. I had a sucky day at first, but it ended up pretty ok. I am not doing anything wedding related right now and I feel guilty.. I am NUTS. What will I do once this is all over> I am all for a Kristy wedding invasion!! -
Cut or not cut the dress?
vdaybride replied to *HOLLY*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
First let me say, I love the dress!! I am biased because I have lace and crystals dragging and I LOVE the way it looks so I vote snip, snip!! However, I don't like the way it is folded to be cut. I think it might look better if there is a part of the underside left a little longer..then again, I like it uncut too..darn not I just confused myself ;( -
Hi Jessica, congrats and happy planning!

Just a word of advice DON'T purchase a book from the photographer!!! The average price of their books are $150-350! You can EASILY make your own book on sites such as Mypublisher, snapfish, shutterfly, blurb and probably a few others. Personally I like publisher and blurb the finished product looks so professional. The cost of my book (that I did myself) was $56 including shipping AND extra pages AND I had a coupon code and received a free book. When I brought up designing my book, my photog actually recommended that I make my own (I already had that in mind because I created photobooks before) For the size book I made a photographer would have charged $200!! If you want to take a look at mine PM me and I will share the book via email. When your package includes books, this is where the price is driven way up.. Jennifer that I recommended before gives you 50 edited shots included in her pricing.. I heart her can't you tell.

I have been researching on the web but am afraid to use someone that I do not know about or have any referrals. A lot of the photographers I find are also very pricey... Kamila is up to $500 for a group and the only one I found that seems reputable on LI is Longislandboudoirphotography, and they are $475 and if you want dvd of prints it is an additional $500!!! huh? I don't want something sketchy where they will sell my pics online after I leave or kidnap me and sell me on the black market(sorry my mom has brainwashed me!)... any suggestions for reputable photographers on Long Island or NYC? That's RIDICULOUS!!! period!! I used Jennifer at Beautiful and Affordable Photography I LOVED every minute of my session!! She is affordable and does a great job! I just finished my photobook on mypublisher. If you want to take a look at her work, go to her website, a few of my pics are there, but she has several for you to take a look at. Good luck! Tell her Timberly sent you, she will fix you right up!!

Hello ladies, I wanted to share info. about a photographer in NYC. I had a shoot on Dec. 16th right before the holidays. My great photographer was able to get me my photos right after the new year and was GREAT to work with. She is super sweet and very talented. Her name is Jennifer and her website is Beautiful and Affordable Photography. I completed my photobook last night and overall, I am pleased with how it turned out. I used a coupon code and ended up getting a free book . I wasn't even considering a BD shoot until I joined this forum, but I am sooooo glad that I did. Again, she is wonderful! Good luck!

Thanks ladies for the great compliments.. sorry, but I did not make the PC go nuts LOL. WHat I think helped was the photographer.. she was a doll to work with and had me completely at ease.. well her, the sexy CD I brought with me and the shot I had before I got there haha.. She called me today to ask if she could use some of the images on her website... I said yes and sure enough, I made her website lol. If my parents ever found out.. I am dead!! Overall I had a pretty yucky bday I was so exhausted, I overslept and as a result our munchkin missed the school bus and got to school 2 and a half hrs late I felt soooooo guilty!! Then she had a princess bday party to go to, then I came home to remember I needed to straighten up BAD. I cleaned up, gave her a bath and now I am tooo pooped to keep the dinner reservations the honey made . I will have a better day tomorrow. I will have a massage, facial, mani/pedi and get my hair done. Tomorrow its all about me. I want to put the wedding planning and my darn "to do" list out of my head for just a few hours. Hope you all had a great Friday! -

I am trying to convince her to use the dress for her birthday which is one of the days we are out there..and I told her I would buy her damn dress.... ugh! I wanted a wine...kinda burgundy color... she bought a dress that was like a grape color...horrendous!! We were orginally going to get married on Halloween but my dress would not have been ready in time...so we switched it which I was glad for...it was a horrible days...stormy and lots of these little bugs (we went on vacation anyways) it was pretty bad... so... thats the story for now.. I really hope you feel better soon!! SMOOCHES and hugs to you!! Thanks ladies for understanding my POV, I also mentioned the late night dinner thing so we will see what happens. My ceremony is at 4. we will take pics seperately before the ceremony to have the sun on our side. He will have his own room the night before the ceremony. i might sneak in his room to rape him then sneak back to mine Yes ladies, time is winding down. I have my birthday is tomorrow, next weekend is my shower, weekend after that I pick up my dress, the weekend after that is the last full weekend before we leave...yikes. I have to finish up my to do list.. Erica, so happy that you are back with us -
I packed everything away over the last 2 days and surprisingly it all of my items for the wedding took up two large (think army type) travel bags. Not too bad, I am a master packer though. The key is to TIGHTLY neatly roll everything, I discarded of all cardboard packaging and packed everything tiny in ziplock bags. I will keep the towels afterall. Thanks for the compiments ladies.

I told him I didn't mind, I even said that I would help him plan it, BUT it needs to be the day before or the day after my wedding. I mentioned that he could do it at midnight the day before my wedding so that her day would still be Valentines Day and she would be extra giddy at my wedding lol. Chris does NOT want him to propose at any of the wedding day events. My cousin understood. Making myself go to sleep!! Goodnight my sweets!! -

Now for something old.....hmmmm I ordered an hankie from an etsy seller that has our names, wedding date and place written in blue, I will also fashion blue crystals into the words "I do" on the bottom of my red bottom shoes, for somthing old..my parents have been married for 38 years for their 37th anniversary he brought her a new set of rings so I am going to have her wedding rings sewn into my dress for good luck and for something old. I would love to borrow a hair flower, but I will borrow something from one of my friends to have on that day. Well girls, my cousin just called me up to confirm that he and his girlfriend of 11 years (on and off) are indeed coming to the wedding AND he asked if he could propose to her during the stay Please help me, but for 2 minutes I was jumping up and down saying hooray, she will be so surprised. Then after those moments of bliss I said "all the hard work i put into this day, and he is gonna take some of my thunder and shine away by dropping on one knee?!? HELL NO! he better do that ISH in his room!! lol NOT AT MY RECEPTION!!!" My question is .....am I being selfish?.. come on family.. I can take it. Give it to me straight! -
