Do you have a 'partying' type crowd or a pretty modest crowd? I think once people start drinking it'll be fine. But to prevent that...having a DJ who'll play good, upbeat music and in your own venue will really help.

From my experience you usually do get a cheaper rate when you book everything together, and even cheaper as a group. I'm in the same boat as you at to when to lock in. My TA says to wait till the spring (getting married Jan 2011) to get the best prices, but I also fear that I'll lock them in and the prices will drop. It's a big responsibility when you have to decide what everyone else it paying!

I'm sending mine out right after the holidays and my wedding is in Jan 2011. I would send them out sooner but I don't want them to mixed in with all the holiday stuff. I've told most people that I'm inviting anyway about the dw, so it won't be a surprise.
