  1. Congrats! I used Expedia.com to find great rates and get ideas on hotel pricing, Expedia even beat some TA deals with the flight and hotel combo. The hotel's actual websites tend to be higher than cheapcaribbean.com, Expedia and TA deals. Find a hotel that you are really excited about, it's your big day! Happy Planning!
  2. They first time I saw topless women was on a beach was in Curacao. It was weird at first but after a while I got used to it, as long as they weren't walking around like that... then it gets awkward. ...and as long as the boobs don't make it into your wedding pics! lol.
  3. oooooopss! I replied to xmas shopping... new years eve... Like! Corona?
  4. Dislike! (love to shop and buy presents but hate when I have no idea what to get people!) Corona?
  5. April will be here before you know it! Happy Planning fellow 2010 brides!
  6. Ugh. So sorry your MIL was so self-absorbed on your special day. Hope the champagne helped!
  7. I've been advised by my TA to get all answers in writing and bring a copy with you when you go. I have found out things on this forum that the WC didn't tell me upfront when I originally contacted the resort. For example, I was contacting the RPRM to book a 35 person wedding party and intended on getting a DJ, which they said was an option. ... BUT I found out that you actually need 57 people in order to be guaranteed an oppurtunity to get a DJ... because of this forum I am actually not booking at the RPRM and am now researching another destination. Why fly everyone out there when you won't be guaranteed the wedding if your dreams?? My advise is to be very specific when asking questions. Happy Planning!
  8. There are some beautiful choices in the Riviera Maya. Budget and whether or not kids are coming make a difference. This site has been great giving insite and ideas on DW. Happy Planning to you!
  9. woo hoo! Hope it all turns out better than planned.
  10. My friends are going to Dreams in Punta Cana on have been there before, they loved it. My co-worker in also at the Moon Palace this week for the 2nd time on vacation. They have great things to say about these resorts. Happy planning to you! I have found this site very helpful.
  11. White House Black Market usually has very cute white dresses. Alot of other people seem to find simple white dresses at J.Crew. Sometime BCBG has white dresses also. Hope this helps!
  12. I agree, Destination Weddings are way more work once you get into the details. Good luck with everything! I hope they figure it out. My friend had a DW in Aruba and it was so worth it!
  13. Jetsbride- Good luck with everything! It may not rain all day so you still may be in the clear if it does. Alot of times it only tropically rains for a few minutes then is sunny again. The forcast has been in my iphone for months and it always has rain in the forcast. ...you may be able to find a really stylish umbrella to use just incase. I'm an accessories girl so that would be my back-up plan.
  14. Hey Renaissance brides! My friend was married on their private island there 3/2006 and it was GORGEOUS!!!
  15. I did also want to ask when they start to give the limits for a private reception. The only limit so far is just for 27 guest minimum to hold the restaurant, but no quote yet on making it private. (private only for the Brazilian Boto Fogo Restaurant) Here is a copy of the message I received on Monday: If your wedding group is over 27 people, it will be accommodated during the second seating at 8:45 pm for dinner at: - Chillis, is an open air restaurant, close to the beach area, tropical and informal, or - Bota Fogo, has A/C, it's formal, Brazilian Rodizo style with a classic atmosphere. There is a theater for nightly entertainment at Riu Palace Riviera Maya and a main discotheque open from 11 pm to 2 am at Riu Tequila to continue the party. In case you are looking for a private reception, the Bota Fogo could be offered for three hours (subject to availability) with an approx. extra charge of 1,950 usd which includes: -Dj and dance floor. -Sound system with Cd player or i pod connections with a microphone in case that you require it (a connection that plugs onto the top (headphone jack) of the ipod it is an ipod touch it does not fit. -Drinks of the restaurant: red and white wine, beer, sodas and water, served by waiters. *If you prefer open bar instead beer, red and white wine and sodas there will be an extra charge of 9 usd per person.
