  1. Everything looks really nice!!! Great job!! And thanks for the ideas/inspiration...I'm using the damask theme also and need to get started working on some projects
  2. I got my pashminas and I'm really happy with them!! I know my guests are going to love them!! Thanks again for organizing this and I hope you had an awesome wedding
  3. Thanks for the tip...I went and got the pink ones for my bridesmaids and may look for some blue ones for the groomsmen!! I also found some cute travel blankets for the kids there!!

  6. Thank you for sharing....I really need to find my shoes and they look like they have a lot of nice options!
  7. Oh no! So sorry to hear that! I have the same anxiety issue which is why we choose the destination wedding as well...however that list is starting to get a little too much for me and I'm already starting to get nervous about being the center of attention...not to mention we have a photographer with us for the whole week...so I'm trying to get myself prepared for that too.... Hopefully you can talk to your mom and she will begin to see your point of view
  8. I'm a May 2010 bride and didn't see a post for May so thought I would take a peek at where you July brides are and all I can say is YIKES!!!! I can't believe how much I still have left to do!! These details sure do add up quickly!! Good luck with all the planning ladies
  9. I asked my MOH not to throw the shower. I felt like everyone is already paying money to travel for the wedding so I would feel funny having a shower with gifts...instead she is doing a potluck and asking people to bring a Costa Rican dish to pass and using this as more of a chance for people to get acquainted with one another and the food of the country before the trip and also to hand out the OOT bags so that we don't have to lug all of that stuff with us! I think you should do what feels right to YOU
  10. Very interesting! Thanks for the heads up
  11. My payment has been sent, thank you so much for doing this!
  12. I will be spending two weeks in Costa Rica...the first week will be spent with family and friends on the Caribbean coast, but I still haven't decided what to do for our honeymoon week after everyone goes home. Any suggestions on an itinerary from May 26- June 2?? What MUST we see or where MUST we go?? I feel so behind in my planning!!! Thanks in advance for any advice
  13. Thanks for sharing your list...I am just beginning to think about this and I may have to borrow some of your songs!
  14. Hi Ladies, Well I recently purchased this dress at a Macy's Bridal in downtown Chicago and have since changed my mind. It is a little more formal than what I am looking to wear and I would be more comfortable in something a little lighter. Unfortunately because it was a sample dress, I am unable to return it so I was hoping that some other lucky bride might be interested This high quality dress is very timeless and elegant, and is made of 100% ivory silk charmeuse with a white chantilly lace overlay. The dress is very flattering to the figure with the corset style top to provide a perfect hourglass figure. The original price of the dress is $2200, however I purchased a sample for $1100 plus tax. I would be willing to sell it for $1000 OBO. Measurements are as follows: Bust 36 Waist 27 Hips 37 Sales tags are still attached and I have the receipt. It was an impulse buy PM me if interested... hopefully the picture works!
  15. Thanks for all of the responses I appreciate everyone's feedback on this as I have really been on the fence with this issue! And thank you for sharing your pictures Malisa....I thought they turned out great! So I will be fine with not having chairs if it just isn't possible or it turns out to be way too costly but I honestly would prefer to have them...even if there aren't chairs for everyone, I would like a few so that the older guests at least have the option of sitting down. I'm currently waiting on a quote for the chairs...I guess that will be my deciding factor! At least now I know that it isn't completely unheard of to not have the chairs.
  16. I love all of the ideas. At first I didn't want to do an AHR because I didn't want to have another "wedding" or anything too formal, but after reading through this thread I realized that it can be simple, so I may go ahead with the AHR after all. I really like the idea of the taco cart! I love all the information I get from this forum
  17. I don't know...I don't see having chairs being that much of a problem with the sand. But because the area is so remote, he says he would have to get the chairs from San Jose which is about 4 hours away, so maybe that's why he advises against it? I'm just not sure how I feel about everyone standing... Malisa, would you mind telling me a little bit more about your ceremony? What do you mean when you say your guests were part of the ceremony? How many people did you have? I'll have between 35-40 people and not sure and I'm trying to get a better idea of how it would be...
  18. I am a chocolate lover as well and was thinking chocolate with raspberry or strawberry....really it's your choice, so choose something that you love!
  19. The place looks great!! I'm sure you're super excited! Congrats
  20. Awesome job on everything!! I need to get moving on some of the details for my wedding, thanks for some great inspiration
  21. Great job on everything!! I'm also one of those non creative people and will be looking for inspiration and ideas on here when I start some DIY projects in the near future!
