  1. My wedding(s) are finally over and life can get back to normal! Sighhh of relief! Looking back, I'm so happy that we did it the way we did it. My dream wedding on the beach in Cuba and an AHR back home with my closest friends and family. Now it's time to reclaim my closet and office space and get this wedding stuff outta my house! I live in ONTARIO, CANADA. Shipping the heavier items may be more expensive to the States, but if you are interested in something, I can check on pricing. Buyer pays shipping. I prefer to ship within Canada, but like I said, I'm willing to work with you. I can accept Paypal from US buyers and would prefer email money transfers from Canadian brides. Birdcage Veil-$50 Miracle Suit, sz. 36DD (never worn. only tried on and too big on me, so I had to buy something different. Comes with optional straps) $50 Red Chair Sashes-$25 (there are 27 of them. Perfect condition, will need ironed on site. Added a lot to my beach wedding decor!) Mini Photo Albums-$1 each (I have 20) I planned on using these for DIY Welcome Books for my OOT bags. Just did not get around to it. The "baby" covers are just a cardstock insert which can be removed. Each holds 36 4x6 photos. Luggage Tag Kit-$10 (40 plastic tag holders, two spools light pink ribbon, 1.5 spools of "Eat Drink Be Married" ribbon, business cards with luggage tag info. *Please note, these are for Canadian brides, as they say Province and Postal Code and not State and Zip!*) Precious Moments guest book(totally unused, in box)-$5 Town & Country wedding planner-$10 (great planner, I just did not get around to using it...lots of places to fill info and write ideas) Little zipper bags-cute from old navy. aqua and yellow. 5 in total. $2 for all. Cute for holding card keys and money at the resort. Flower Girl Headbands-cute, but just not my style! My mother in law bought these for my girls to wear but I found something else for them! $3 each or both for $5. Tea lite votives-from Ikea. $4 (there are 24 in total) That's it for now...more to come when I get to my AHR decor box! Items will not be held for crazy amounts of time! If you want it, great! Tell me, pay for it and I will ship it out to you. If I get more than one request for the same item, I will be fair and give the first person that asked for it the first opportunity to pay for it. Make me an offer!
  2. I had a ton of fun designing our wine labels for our At Home Reception. I used some stamps that I found on here (thanks Autumn, I believe it was from her passport invite template). I wanted a cool way to incorporate passport stamps into our AHR since I didn't have any use to do passport invites! I love how they turned out! Hope you like them.
  3. It was great to meet everyone...I had a lot of fun talking weddings! Even though I didn't like my food. LOL. And my husband def. put the guilt trip on me for dragging him along!
  4. my hubby and i will be there. if there is too much girly talk he'll just go to the bookstore! i ambringing Scentsy catalogs for everyone!!
  5. I am a past bride, but thinking I am going to come. I will only know for sure tomorrow as I have to play it by ear to see what time my husband gets off work. I am hoping he can join us too (or at least wander around the mall) Are any other husbands/fiances coming?
  6. Hope your meeting went well CBP.....they are sweet people and I could not say ONE negative thing about the pictures. I just love how they turned out!
  7. Our photographer just blogged our TTD session! Wanted to share the link. And thank you ladies for the compliments, it's so sweet of you! http://www.heatherwindsor.com/blog/2011/06/01/brooke-sandy-havana-trash-the-dress-cuba/
  8. I have always been in love with beautiful old architecture and the city of Havana is absolutely amazing to look at. When we decided to get married in Cuba, I knew I wanted to shoot a TTD in Havana. When I talked with our photographer, she said it was HER dream to shoot a TTD in Havana as well, so we made it happen. Of course, I also wanted the traditional "beach shots" so Heather said "No problem...lets do both!" Before the wedding, Heather also found some amazing caves just a couple minutes from our resort and her and her second shooter, did a fun session there to see if I would also like the way the pictures from the caves turned out...So our Trash the Dress session turned into a full day of photos! A truly monster sized photo session and my hubby and I felt like supermodels! Here are a few pictures from our day. I just love the way they turned out and I hope you like them too! 9. Updated because I just got the cd and here are a couple pics, some of my favourite shots from the wedding day! Lots more on the blog
  10. Thanks everyone! My photog said that there were a ton of hits on the blog posting, so I am guessing a good portion of those came from you guys! I really could not be happier with the pictures. Except that I was annoyed that there was a BIG YELLOW BANANA BOAT right behind my wedding arch. LOL. She airbrushed that out of the kissing photo though. Apparently the tourists wanted to watch my wedding from the ocean! My girls flower girl dresses were a whopping $12.95 from H&M and I thought they were just perfect for a beach wedding. I love the photo of my two year old giving me a kiss. My bridesmaid dresses were from Le Chateau and they both loved them because they are very easy to wear again. Stay tuned, I will post the link to the TTD photos as soon as the blog is posted. Thanks again. I had some work to do to fit into my dress...like a lot of work. It did not even go up over my hips in October! So in the four months between October-Feb, I had to lose weight and shape up! I did it though and ended up having to get it taken in!
  11. It has been nearly three months since our Destination Wedding in Cuba and I am so excited to finally be able to share with my fellow BDW Brides...our photos! The decision to take a Pro Photographer was an easy one, but it was made even easier when I saw another BDW Bride's (Tilly In The Sun) photos. The look and style of her photos were EXACTLY what I was looking for! Everything fell into place and I hired Toronto-area photographer Heather Windsor (www.heatherwindsor.com) to travel with my crazy group to Cuba. A few words on Heather...She is beautiful (inside & out) and talented. From the moment we met her, it was like hanging out with a long lost friend. She is professional, courteous and always responded to emails and answered my questions. On the day of the wedding she was not only taking pictures, but she was also like an "unofficial" bridesmaid, giving advice on hair & make-up and keeping me calm when I burst into tears at the hair salon over my frustration that my limited Spanish was not getting through to the hairdresser on how I wanted my hair to look! Well that is enough gushing...they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are SEVERAL pictures from our wedding! Enjoy. I will post the Trash the Dress blog when it is up! http://www.heatherwindsor.com/blog/2011/04/25/sirenis-la-salina-varadero-cuba-destination-wedding-brooke-sandy/
  12. I'm sorry I may sound like a complete bitch here, but three hours is NOT that far to travel for your sisters wedding! I would be quite offended if my siblings could not fit it into their jam packed schedule and drive three hours for my wedding! just sayin!!
  13. I used to live in the DR and the one thing that is amazing there is the coffee! The Santo Domingo brand (it is found in grocery stores for around 80 pesos--about 3 bucks for a one pound bag) I would bring a bunch of those home and then make up little individual coffee favours. Like enough scoops for one pot of coffee and put them in a cute decorative bag or something. It would be very inexpensive and purely Dominican! Also, the pure vanilla is very inexpensive there too! You could buy little bottles and bottle some pure vanilla and give those out.
  14. Just tried to add a review and it said access denied...How are we able to add new vendors to the review section?
  15. Thank you for clearing that up. I was under the impression that to add them there, they had to be an advertiser! But that's great, thank you.
  16. I just returned from my destination wedding and had been really looking forward to writing a review of the planning process and the wedding itself. Now I find that the section is closed to new reviews. I am not sure what the new protocol is or if we are even able to post reviews of our planning/vendors we used? Are we only allowed to discuss vendors if they are advertisers on BDW? I do hope that that is not the case. There are lots of great vendors out there, non-advertisers included! Any help on this matter is appreciated.
  17. I just love how these turned out. I really wanted something that was personal but did not take a ton of time to do. My wedding is coming up (Feb. 4) and I have two little people that take up a LOT of my time and attention. Even still, a handwritten aspect was important to me, so I designed it so I could handwrite a personalized message. I had them printed as 4x6 photos at walmart for 20 cents each! LOVE IT!
