  1. Jake is a nerd and a moron for getting rid of Gia. Like if he wasn't the Bachelor he could ever get a girl like that in real life! Who knows who he will pick at this point. Tenley seems like a nice girl, but her voice...oh her voice. I was watching last night with FI and he was like "she's hot but I couldn't stand listening to that voice for the rest of my life!" Vienna is just trashy.
  2. Very handy indeed to have a leader here on the forum! Congrats on losing weight and becoming a leader. I have lost weight with WW in the past and really enjoy the program. I am currently 5 months pregnant so can not go to WW, but still want to lose some weight while I am pregnant. (I can stand to lose the weight trust me! LOL) My Doctor has ok'd me to follow the program while pregnant, she just told me to follow the breastfeeing guidelines for points for the extra calories. I am getting married 7 months after having the baby.
  3. WW is a fabulous program, it really teaches you how to eat! I am not going to the meetings anymore, but still do the program at home. I would suggest to any WW virgins that want to try it out, to go for abot 3 months and you will have the hang of it and be able to do it from home as well! Good luck. Great spreadsheet idea. I have about 5 more posts before I can open it!! lol.
  4. Aww, I really know how you feel! My FI has not only been married before, but he has two kids with his ex wife! So when I was pregnant with our daughter, nothing was really that bigga deal! Going and registering for gifts, I was so excited and he was like "been there, done that!" But he already knew how to be a great dad, so I guess it was a blessing in the end?? As for the wedding, just remember that she is his PAST and you are his future! Clearly things didn't work out and he has found you! He has probably learned a lot about marriage and what doesn't work which might even be helpful for your marriage. Try your best to make your wedding unique and your own, but don't give up on something you really love and want just because he may have done it at his other wedding! Good luck!
  5. You did a great job! It's fun to actually do it yourself isn't it? Gives you something to be proud of. Great picture of you and your FI!
  6. Sounds great once you finally got there! That just totally made me realize HOW important travel insurance and booking through an agent is! Aren't you glad the big day is behind you and now you can just be a happy newlywed? Congrats!
  7. It's hard to use a friend or an aquaintance as a TA because if you don't feel that they are doing their job properly then it can be uncomfortable to confront them! I have a friend that desparately wants to be my travel agent, but she lives in a different province and I just think I want someone who is not a friend and is local to deal with! I would suggest finding someone else as well because it will be easier for your guests to have one person to deal with to do all the bookings!
  8. We haven't had an engagement party and I am doubting we will have one. There are so many parties to come with a DW that I just don't expect anyone will throw us one and I don't think it's right to throw one for ourselves! Would love it though! lol.
  9. We havent bought my FI's ring yet, but I have a couple questions after reading this thread. My guy is a mechanic so will his ring will probably get banged up (if he even decides to wear it to work!) I am confused on the diff between titanium and tungsten...The one thing that scares me is that the ring can't be cut off his finger if something were to happen. Which one is it that can't be cut? And does titanium scratch up easily? I have read that too. Any suggestions that will end my confusion will be appreciated! Thanks ladies.
  10. Wow you are so nice to be paying for the trip for a couple people!! And your DIY projects are going to be a hit with your guests.
  11. I have to agree with everyone else here! As frugal as I am...lol. Your guests have already paid a lot of money to join you on your big day and shouldn't have to pay for transportation to your wedding. Maybe you could see about getting a group rate?
  12. Wow some people in "customer service" really don't know what they are doing or how bad word of mouth can be for a business! I'm sorry you ladies had some horrible experiences dress shopping. My advice would be to send an email with a link to this thread and show them how damaging their stupidity and ignorance can be!!
  13. There is a group on Facebook called Sirenis La Salina Brides, you can probably find some past brides from SLS that would have up to date wedding package information. I haven't been able to find much info on the packages myself, my TA is looking into that for me.
  14. Do you have a pic of these luggage tags that you could post? Finding something in the Dollar stores is so daunting to me if I don't know what I'm looking for! Love the ribbon idea too!
  15. I love all these ideas because I am a sucker for the bouquet and garter toss!! I wanted to do them at my wedding, but pretty much all the people coming are attached or married, so the whole traditional toss wasn't going to work. But I think we could still do it and make some sort of fun game out of it for everyone to participate in!
  16. I think talking to a few of the people going, people you trust will give you a realistic answer is a good idea. One of my friends was like "keep it under $1000!" and I think that is a nice thought but not exactly realistic for an advance booking for Feb!I will be happy if we can stay in the $1200 range. For me and my guests!
  17. A talented designer! I love how the paper has the two toned colour. Even though a lot of brides are doing boarding pass invites, I love that all of them are so different and unique.
  18. Great job! I gotta know, that flower thingy thats attaching them. Where did you find those? Or did you make them? Info!!! I have been trying to decide how I want to attach mine and that is such a cute idea! You girls are all so creative.
  19. Aww I love the look of the birdcage veils! I was watching Say Yes To The Dress last week with my FI and one of the girls had a birdcage veil on for her wedding. FI started laughing and making fun of it! I was like "You don't like those?" It broke my heart a little bit, I will admit.
  20. That is frustrating! Is there any way you could call them and ask for them to send you the grey ones that you requested at no extra cost?? Good luck. Shipping those swatches is not cheap!
  21. It's funny there is pretty much an even split on white or ivory! I chose an ivory wedding dress, but again, I am fair skinned, so it looked nicer than the white did on me. Either way it will be beautiful. What a gorgeous dress!
  22. Wow, I didn't even know this thread existed! I'm a crazy girl who is pregnant AND planning a Destination wedding all at once!! I have a 21 month old daughter and am due with #2 in July. Our wedding will be in Feb. 2011, so the baby will be 7 months old by then. I finally got through the horrible first trimester, all the nausea, and exhaustion and just generally feeling crappy. But now I feel much better. The pills my Dr. prescribed (diclectin) were amazing and they took the nausea away pretty much. Congrats to all the other pregnant gals!
  23. That mug turned out very cute! I was kinda interested in getting some of those colour changing stadium cups...I saw a thread on them not long ago. I thought since most of the drinks are going to be cold drinks those would work great and they were cheap too! I love getting everyones ideas!
  24. Man I get so jealous of all you US brides!! Every time I see someone has found something super cool and cheap its always at Target! We need to get Target in Canada.
