Ok this may sound like a stupid question but is this DVD appropriate for a pregnant gal? I would tone it down if needed. I am 20 weeks along and still have no pregnant belly and Doc said it's fine to work out if I feel like it...

short sleeves under a suit?
AlexsBride replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm with the other girls on this one! It's a destination wedding after all. We can break a few rules here and there right? -
show us your rings!
AlexsBride replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
They really are beautiful! I'm sure everyone was in tears like I was when it was finally put on your finger!! (Or was I the only one?) -
Well then at the very least, you should ask for and receive a discount on the dress, to cover the cost of the alterations that need to be done to fix the mess ups. And don't feel like a bridezilla. This is one of the most important parts of your wedding and the dress shop people should know that! It's the business they are in!

Don't know about photogs in Jamaica but I agree with everyone who is saying that this is not an area of my wedding that I am going to skimp on. I look at it as, I would be spending around the same price if I were to hire a photographer for an at home wedding...(maybe a little bit more, unless you find someone to do it for only the travel fee) so...this isn't a fight my FI and I even had. He was in total agreement that photos are a priority!

Thats too bad. But I am wondering if it is just a temporary shut down? Perhaps if this is something they would like to continue using it as a venue (they might be making good money on it!) Maybe they will get the proper permits and paperwork in place...good luck!

Don't let them get away with anything on this one! If it is not the same as the sample, they need to either get you one that IS the one you ordered or fix the strap on the current one (at their own cost I might add!) to look just like the one you fell in love with in the first place. Don't worry about seeing like a Bridezilla or anything like that either. You deserve to get what you ordered! If you are a size 2 and they ordered a size 12, they would have to fix that mistake right??

Good for you, getting the ones you want! I don't understand how a company can actually charge your credit card and then tell you that the product you want is out of stock, but "here's something close!" My FI hates listening to me dealing with people in situations like this on the phone. I don't let it go! Don't even get me started on the Bell Canada people! lol. A side note, for anyone looking for plastic CUPS with marriage sayings on them, I found some cute ones at Michael's last night on clearance. $4.99 for a ten pack. They are a nice size for resort drinks too, not too big, not too small. They have white ones with EAT DRINK AND BE MARRIED in teal, white ones with I DO in black I believe and red ones with Two Hearts, One Love. Works out to 50 cents a cup! And another side note, today, Michaels is having a 20 % off everything Including sale items sale...you need a coupon but they had lots at the store.

I was at the Michael's in Barrie, Ontario. The only iron-ons that I still need to get are two bridesmaid and two flower girl ones...But hey...the Bride is looked after! I thought the one that said "Property of the Groom" was really cute! Good luck looking for the cups! I thought they were a nice size as well, not super huge. That way people's drinks don't get warm from the sun!

I found some great cups tonight at Michael's...I went there to get the rhinstone iron-ons. They still had plenty of those, so I was happy! I always scour the clearance racks and found a bunch of packages of plastic cups with some cute wedding sayings on them. There was "Eat, Drink and Be Married" "I DO!" and "Two Hearts, One Love" They came in packages of 10 and they were on sale for $4.99, so about 50 cents a cup. I bought three packages of the Eat Drink and Be Married ones (We are expecting between 20-26 ppl for our wedding, so 30 should be safe) They were regularly priced $13 for a ten pack, so it's a great deal. This saves me from having to do a bulk order and shipping them! They had plenty on the shelves too and the cashier said they just recently went on clearance. Also, tomorrow, Michaels is having a 20% off Everything sale (including sale items) with this coupon thingy that they are giving out at the store...in case anyone has some stuff to buy!

Where did you design your wedding logo?
AlexsBride replied to Jess3414's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
If you are looking to design your own, do a quick search on here for instructions on making your own. I know there is a thread for making your own logo in Powerpoint and another thread for making your own logo in Microsoft word. I am pretty dense when it comes to this kinda stuff and managed to design a pretty cute one in MS Word. Good luck!! -
Should I register?
AlexsBride replied to jessiee223's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We will be registering, but make sure to tell the guests that are coming to the wedding in Cuba that they do not need to get us a gift. We will be having an AHR with a sit down dinner for our extended family and they will all be bringing something. I would much rather it be stuff that we need/want rather than just them guessing!! lol. -
Questioning if we will have an AHR at all?!?
AlexsBride replied to August2010Bride's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
I went to a friends AHR this summer and it was great! She had a big BBQ at her family's farm and hired a band and it was just a big fun party. They hired a small town caterer to do a buffet style BBQ lunch and I know it didn't cost nearly as much money as a sit down dinner. If you want to keep your costs down, there are several ways to do it. good luck! -
Yeah I don't think 1800 for a 5 star in Mexico is that expensive! But the problem is so many people compare the prices to last minute trips and they really can't compare the two, it's apples and oranges. I say, go with the resort you want and let people know as far in advance approx. what it is going to cost them. They will decide if the cost is worth it! Good luck and congrats!

alternative guest book
AlexsBride replied to ChicagoPT's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We will be doing the picture of us with the spot for guests to write on for our AHR...for our DW, we will not be doing a guestbook.
