My mom and MOH keep asking me about having a bridal shower but I am on the fence about it. I feel awkward asking guests to come to a bridal shower and buy a gift since they will be spending so much to come to the wedding in the first place. I also feel bad that I know my mom and bridal party will be incurring an additional cost if they throw me a shower. My mom and MOH think I'm being silly and shouldn't worry about it. What are the rest of you girls doing? Any ideas or advice are welcome.

I say BOOOOO to all the negative people and remind them that I never ask to have a say in how they live their lives so why are they so quick to think they have the right to say anything about mine. Try not to let all the negativity get you down and enjoy planning your wedding!

I am also a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding which is happening 2 months before I am getting married. I am one of 4 girls in her bridal party and we are splitting everything for the party 25% per bridesmaid. My question to you girls is am I expected to also give a gift at the shower since I'm already paying a pretty penny to help host the event?? Any advice welcome, I'm really stumped about this.
