  1. Thanks so much everyone! I find your advice helpful. I'll check out some of those suggestions and let you know how it turns out.
  2. Hey fellow Canadian Brides, I'm getting married in November 2010 at the ROR. I'm the first in my family and group of friends to attempt a DW. I'm finding this forum a HUGE help. I have a bit of a concern right now and I'm hoping fellow brides can offer their advice. If you have (or had) a bridal party spread out throughout the country, what did you do about attire? I'm in New Brunswick but one of my BMs is in Port Colborne, ON and the other is in Alberta. The best man is in Ottawa, ON and the other guy my FI chose is here in NB. I'm wondering how I can possibly get everyone to wear similar colours? I don't care so much about the style but I'd like everyone with the same colour. I've tried Sears online which might work for my girls but I haven't seen anything I like for the guys. Does anyone have any other ideas?? Thanks! Kelly
  3. Thanks everyone for the advice! It's been stressing me out a little, even one of my BM's did it to me by inviting her EX-husband.. how odd is that??!! Anyhow, I'm going to stop freaking about it and wait until we can put the deposit down to see who is actually committed to going.
  4. Thank goodness for this forum, it has really helped me minimize some of the stress of planning a DW. No one from my family has ever tried this so I'm on my own. We are planning on getting married in Nov 2010 but my TA is telling me that we can't book until the flights open up. So many of my family & friends who are planning to join us keep asking "do you have a date yet?" Arg! Anyhow, I'd like to know if anyone has had the problem with people inviting themselves to your DW? I have a budget in mind and I'm afraid that if people keep adding themselves to the guest list (totally rude!) then I'm going to be way over budget. I've been told that because they figure it's more like a holiday, it's ok to just tag along. We were planning to have the free wedding at RIU Ocho Rios but if people keep adding themselve I'm going to have to pay for an actual package. Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, what is the best way to tell these people no?

  6. Thanks so much!! I've trying to think of something to give my guests when they arrive at the resort that isn't too expensive and will fit into my suitcase. Thank you for these great ideas!! I'm now thinking this is very do-able!
  7. Hi, this is great information. We haven't booked our date yet but we're planning on Nov 2010 and I really think I would like the beach reception. Could someone please email me the price list? I can't download it from here. Thank you very much!! [email protected]

    Nov 2010

Hey Everyone, My name is Kelly and I am getting married in Nov 2010. We've decided on Jamaica. We're considering 2 resorts so if anyone has any information, I'd love to hear about it. We're deciding between Riu Ocho Rios and Breezes Runaway Bay. We're leaning towards Runaway Bay but we're still researching.
