  1. great thread my advice would be to join this forum and RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH before you book anything!! there are so many things to consider, so make sure you've really found out everything. also, set a budget early. it's easy to get carried away, work it out and set it realistically and work to it. but don't despair if you don't have a lot of money, sometimes it's nicer to have to only have what you really want, and add cheap personal touches instead!
  2. hey ladies, does no-one have any tips/details/suggestions to restaurants at the MP? even if you've been there before and not for a wedding, just an idea on the food served, the ambience, the service etc? thank you!! xx
  3. ohhh why don't you want your bro's girlfriend there? how is he about it?!
  4. im not getting married in jamaica but found your review so informative and helpful for future brides, it's so nice of you! sounds like a gorgeous wedding, congratulations xxx
  5. we have a similar thing, but why not compremise. those invited come to the wedding, those not invited come for a holiday, are welcome to come and watch the ceremony and then say you'll see them in the evening after you've had your wedding meal in one of the bars. then they're involved in your day, but not pushing your budget. does that work? and you don't have to do ott bags and all that for them surely?!
  6. awwww how lovely! many congratulations to the winners! how fabulous!!! xxxx
  7. oh tough one. i would wait until you send the invites out, that's a pretty clear sign. if people still mention it, say that you'd love them to come, how exciting, but that you have a limited package, but they could always come and see the ceremony and meet you after your meal for celebration drinks? that way they'll still feel invited?
  8. sorry my post sounded harsh, it's not mad to have that many bridesmaids, i just meant having to coordinate that many and buy dresses etc must be expensive!! does your budget include the cost of your flights/stay at the MP? x
  9. won't the sand be hot?! you girls are mad having so many bridesmaids etc! i have one grown up bridesmaid and two flower girls. i know it's rude to ask, but do you girls all have a huge budget to play with? i am wearing heels for my beach wedding, i don't care if i sink, they're so pretty!
  10. what i did in the end was get quotes from lots of different ta's and play them off against each other. in the end i paid £2360 for 10 nights at the MP for my uncle, which isn't bad (considering original quotes were £2900)
  11. Hey Ladies i've got some info from some wedding reviews, but i've never been to the MP before, so i thought if anyone has any comments/tips/advice about the restaurants, they can post in here and we can keep it updated, to help other brides deciding on a venue for a welcome dinner or thier wedding reception etc. Nizuc Side El Manglar - Italian buffet casual dress code Arrecifes - Brazillian buffet casual dress code I've heard mostly great reviews about this restaurant. there is an outside terrace which is semi private. they have a mariachi band. the meat is served on a big skewer which makes it a fun experience. the only bad things i've heard is the service can be slightly slow Los Caporales - Mexican a la carte dinner service Casual elegance dress code I've heard good things about this, there is a mariachi band El Caribeno - dinner a la carte casual dress code Sunrise Side La Gondola - Italian Buffet casual dress code Mo Mo No Ha Na - Oriental A la Carte Dinner Casual Elegance I've heard good things about this restaurant Bugambilias - Mexican Buffet casual dress code Grand Side Los Tacos - Italian Buffet casual dress code El Caribeno - Oriental a la carte Dinner Casual Elegance Club House La Trattoria - Italian A La Carte Casual Elegance Bambu - Oriental Buffet Casual Elegance Feel free to add your own comments/reviews. I've also heard there is a seafood restaurant on the Nizuc side, something like 'Palapa Fragata?' anyone know of this? I've never been to the MP, so any advice would be great!
  12. i can't wait to hear who wins! imagine how excited they'll be!!
  13. Hi Carly have you tried emailing your WC and copying in a Miami consultant (try copying in [email protected] ) that way someone should come back to you. put your questions in bullet points and ask them to respond to them all maybe? how come you chose the Sun rather than the Moon for your wedding? is it easy to come and go between them on the day of your wedding? what a nice idea!
  14. that makes me feel great, im sure i've chosen the right venue! it sounds perfect! so what have you planned? what time of day is your wedding? what kind? what are you wearing? are you having a cocktail party etc? what kind of meal? sorry im so nosey!
  15. no i agree, what colour? did you say you'd chosen your dress? what's that like?
