Oh i've just realised its exactly 15months today that we will be getting Married....Yippee!!

OMG I love Elizabeth Medina. I got a quote from her months ago now when we first started looking at hotels etc. Her work is fantastic. I would love to have her do our photos. But she is just way out of our budget. We will be spending thousands as it is staying for 2wks and everything else so we are sticking with photo caribbean (the hotel photographer). I've seen their work as my friend had them and they are lovely. If i win the lottery i would defo book Elizabeth ;o) Like many of you i'm not doing a TTD either. I want to keep my dress for the AHR and buying a second one is just more money out of the budget. It does look like fun tho. God i cant wait to go!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I just dont get why it said saturdays in the email sent. But i am very pleased we can get married on the Saturday. Sometimes their emails are a little vague! We are staying for 2weeks so the 4 day thing wont be a problem for us luckily!

Arrr thanks girls, I love it! I tried on a few different styles but this one suited me the best. It's a size 8 (only cos i have no boobs and a small waist) It covers my big butt and hips (i'm a typical pear shape). I'd like to loose some weight off my bottom half and tone up and i've started the exercise already! The twist stepper is out and i've got a new dvd (Hannah Waterman one) and boy does it work you!! I'm not really a gym person and i hate running so i do the home exercise and go swimming when i can. Mischaka - well done you! That's great! I made our engagement invites and really enjoyed that. I like making my own cards etc. For our AHR i will probably do the same and FI works for a print firm so will try and get him to print the wording in them )

Thank you! I've had my ring for nearly 6yr's now so needs a good clean up! I would like a white gold band with diamonds in for my wedding ring I think... AishaB - Your dress is lovely! Nicyx - WOW you have a bargin there. My dress was £1450 (over $2000). I budgeted £1000 for my dress but i fell in love with it and went for it. I would have been over the moon and jumping for joy if i'd got a bargin like you have! What a great find! I am having the train made shorter as it's too long for me really.

Hello everyone. Congrats and welcome new brides on here! We haven't looked for our rings yet but i am hoping to soon. FI's mum works in a jewellers so we will probably get them in her shop and save some money with her discount. (every little helps) They will both be white gold though i know that! Hi ladies Can any of you help me...... On one of the emails Gabriela sent it said in the terms, you cant have a legal wedding on a Saturday, Sunday or Public holiday.... Victoria has put "on hold" our wedding date Sat 28th May 2011. I've emailed her to say is it OK to have a legal ceremony on a Saturday and she hasn't answered my question she just replied "dont worry your wedding date is on hold".... Has anyone, or is anyone having a legel ceremony at the Palace on a Saturday? It would put my mind at rest if you could help me! Many thanks

Hi Tracy.Clements, and welcome, congrats on your engagement! We have gone for a bigger hotel but we did look at the boutique style ones and the two you are looking at are beautiful. Good luck with the site visit let us know how it goes...... CeeCee76 - Thank you. It seems all hotels may be different. Our witnesses have to be there 4 days prior to the wedding along with the bride and groom. So different to your hotel.... It just shows you it's best to check and double check these things girls. I'm a worrier anyway (you may have already gathered that)! I will let you know what the WC says on her reply!

I am checking this with them though as i don't understand why they have held a saturday for us if it's not possible??...... Please be advised that in order to have a Legal Wedding in Mexico, Groom, Bride and Witnesses MUST be IN the hotel 4 working days prior to the wedding date (Arrival date, Wedding date, Saturdays, Sundays and Mexican Holidays are not considered as working days). For a Non-legal wedding, groom and bride Must be IN the hotel 3 days prior to the wedding date (Arrival date, wedding date and Sundays not considered as working days). In order to book your wedding, you have to follow the next steps: 1. Please choose the date you would like for your wedding. 2. Check the availability with the Wedding Coordinator and e-mail her: * Wedding date and time * Type of wedding (Legal or Non-legal) * Name and last name of Bride and Groom. * Wedding package. * Number of wedding guests. * Hotel where the Bride and Groom will be staying at. If the date is available, we will put your wedding date ON HOLD. (Meaning that the date and hour is just ON HOLD, NOT CONFIRMED) 3. Once you have a date on hold for the wedding, you will have two months to e-mail us a copy of the Reservation Manifest/Invoice from the Tour Operator (confirmation must include name of Bride & Groom, arrival - departure dates and time, name of Tour Operator Company). Once we have all your travel information, your assigned wedding coordinator will confirm your date. There are 4 options of marriage at Barceló Maya Beach Resort: 1) Legal Weddings It is a Legal Ceremony with a Justice of Peace from the city Hall. They are usually restricted to 3 ceremonies per day; date and the time are subject to availability, and it is the City Hall who will confirm it. Legal Weddings do not take place on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays. The Ceremony will be held in Spanish, in this case a wedding coordinator will translate it into English. hi girls, we are lucky because the family and friends that are coming are in love with the hotel we have chosen and although it will be expensive we did give lots of notice. We've been engaged for nearly 6yrs now and everybody knew from day one we were going to get married in Mexico. I say go with your heart and chose what is right for you! We are going to a family friendly resort and have children ourselves so an adults only was never an option for us. If i didn't have kids i probably would have chosen an adult only resort as they are gorgeous! But this is just my personal preference! Nicyx - Errrm as prices arn't out i dont know if it will work out cheaper. I assume it will be the same. I dont know if Cosmos have a wedding department. If we book the holiday through T.Cook and they sort the wedding to then so be it but if they cant arrange the wedding we will go direct. I dont think it will reflect in price as the wedding package will be the same regardless of who books it. I just wanted to avoid the problems my friend had. All the hotel want to see is confirmation that you have booked rooms at the hotel to take your wedding booking seriously if you like. So if that comes from me or the TA i dont see a difference. When Jo booked with first choice they didnt transfer the funds till the last minute and she was worried while out there that the wedding would not go ahead. I want to aviod all this upset. I've only 'held' the date so i'll wait to see what the TA says when we can eventually book the holiday and let you know what she suggests. To be honest even if the TA does sort the wedding part i will still email the WC myself and attach our confirmation just to safe guard myself. Sorry for rambling on! I do love a natter, hee hee. Cjb0arder13 - what a lovely dress. So exciting. I would love to loose some pounds too! My dress was a little tight on the hips but i'm hoping that was just added weight i put on over christmas... ha ha. I will try and lose some before the wedding! Hi girlies! RaychelRae - Thanks for sharing! I'm sure your info will help so many brides. Making decisions is so hard and all the little things ppl are doing are really helping all of us! Thanks We may have to go with the hotel photographer as coming from the UK and staying at the Palace for 2weeks with family and friends is an expense already. Until the flight prices come out i really wont know if any other photographer will be in our budget! Nicyx - She's emailed back today to say sorry for the confusion but YES the date is "on hold" for us. We now need those flights out to confirm our date and booking otherwise we will loose it ( They will "hold" the date for 2months so fingers x'd by end of April we will be booked up! I'm trying not to get to hooked up on it all and stress myself so i am trying to think in a way that ok if we loose that date we will still be going to Mexico and getting married within the 2 weeks so are flexible and it's not the end of the world. We can be selfish about it as it's our big day! We chose our hotel because it's what we wanted as a couple. We have had a few hiccups along the way with MIL. But at the end of the day it's about you and only you as a couple. Do what you want for your dream wedding, and enjoy! It is a shame ppl can't make it whatever the reason, money or travel reasons. But you can't worry about everybody else, do whats right for you! xx

Nicyx - The WC email was a little confusing so i'm waiting for her to confirm that date for us. They will only hold it for 2 months so i'm praying the flight prices come out by end of April. My friend booked her wedding/holiday through first choice and she had so many problems, she really wouldn't recommend so that worried me. The hotel we have chosen i can only find it on Cosmos. Thomas Cook said they can book a Cosmos holiday so i will probably book through them. My friend said she had so many problems the best thing to do is to get in contact with the WC direct so they are familiar with you already. So i took her advise (figured it wouldn't hurt even if we did book it through a TA). They want to see the booking confirmation as soon as we are booked. At booking i will ask Thomas Cook what they recommend but as it stands now i will book the holiday with TA and the wedding direct with the hotel itself. Hope this makes sense!

Nicyx the list is a great idea, I had an email from my hotel today and although there is a slight language barrier i think she has put 'on hold' our wedding date. 28th May 2011. Monica - Wow your photos are beautiful. You looked stunning, so romantic! The setting is lovely. It just makes me want to go NOW!! It's so frustrating as the flights are not out for May 2011 yet so we are having to wait! ( I had an email from Victoria Robledo today. Has anyone else heard from her? I've had 3 emails from the hotel about info and every time it's somebody different. My friend got married at Iberostar Maya last May and she used the Photocaribbean photographer (based at the hotel) and her photos are gorgeous to. We are thinking of using them and hope our photos will be as nice!
