  1. Ok this could be a stupid question....but should we play a seperate song when the bridesmaids and parents are walking down the isle, then it change when i come out right? Whats everyone having the bridesmaids walk down the isle to?

This to do list keeps growing! : ) What type of music did everyone use for your ceremony?
  3. So I'm trying to give it a few weeks for things to settle down before asking who my new WC is, since my wedding isn't until December. But I'm not going to lie I'm a little anxious! I'm sure this has been answered in the past, so I apologize in advance...but my wedding is under 6 months away now, is there anything I'm supposed to be doing? When do I pick my restaurant and food for my semi private recep, when do I choose flowers... Also, has everyone played some sort of music during the actual ceremony when you walk down the isle and all? I'm not getting a DJ because of the semi private ceremony (and our AHR is over 200 guests so I'm keeping it as simple as possible in Mexico) but im totally clueless on what to do about music- is it weird not to have music when we walk down the isle?

I am doing the same sort of thing. My guests kinda are scattered all over so we won't get to see them all right before we go. I plan to ship them a week before with a pre travel brochure....with travel tips- call your credit cards, cell phones to add international...blah blah blah. Then they can pick and choose maybe they already bought something of the same and they don't want to travel with it, that's up to them. But I am afraid the shipping costs to send them to everyone! Luckily I'm only doing one bag per couple!

So far I've seen a couple from the garden and several from the beach but none from any of their indoor locations? I also have in writing from my WC that they can "make a special request for you to have 2 entrees with the other course items that same. To make the request, I will need to know how many of each entree . You will be responsible for place cards that will inform the servers which guest will receive which entree." Hope that helps! Hope that everyone is having a great memorial day weekend! That's a good question. I am having a semi private reception in one of the restaurants, I haven't seen any reception pictures of this. Or...maybe I have and haven't realized it?
  6. My dollar tree only had 4 tote bags in stock, and I didn't feel like traveling around to others. But I did find other tote bags there that are tote bags and sandles. I grabbed those, granted I have ALOT of sandles now but I figured i would just toss those if I don't fit in them, I'm not going to send those to everyone. But I figured it's not like it cost any extra so I can toss them if I don't use them!
  7. Great find! FI and I are off the Dollar Tree now! Hopefully i find them because I def dont need 36 ordering online!
  8. I am registering and having a shower. We only have about 30 guests coming to the wedding put will have an AHR that we have over 200 guests invited too. I asked my MOH to include in the shower invites to the people that are coming to Mexico a little saying to not bring a gift- they are spending enough. Just have to think how to word it.

THANK YOU! Glad to hear that! Did you make the ladies in MI aware like was it in your contract, or you just told them when you got down there?
  10. Has anyone that has had a symbolic ceremony had a family member/friend perform the ceremony? FI has an Uncle that is an ordained minister who did his cousins destination wedding, and did a wonderful job. I just thought it would be more personable and a more relaxed environment. I emailed Carole on this and she said "how nice is that" I just want to make sure before we ask his Uncle to do it that we don't get down there and the resort say it's not allowed.

We havent done much planning yet, I was wondering how much is done ahead of time and how much you do when you get there? We're working with a travel agent and haven't had any direct contact with the resort yet. My fiance and I have never been to the Gran, however we did eat at the Royal one day when we were in Playa - the pool/beach area was really nice, cant wait to see the Gran!! Check out the thread for Royal. There is Gran and Royal brides on there, there is alot more reviews and brides on that thread!
  12. Do you guys think its a bad idea or looks funny sending them to people at home a week before we leave? Honestly...

I figure if i ship them a week before the people (because not everyone lives around us) it will be a little pre travel bags. We are putting, luggage tags, travel cups, puzzle books, yankee candles, disposable underwater cameras, then all the first aid stuff, aloe vera, sun tan lotion chapstick all that stuff.
  14. I loooove the wedding jewlery set- silver. Let me think about this one!!
  15. Love the newsletter idea. I was thinking of ordering a brochure from Vistaprint...but now looking at this you've inspired me that I can just do a newsletter type of thing. I will be putting them in the OOT bags and shipping them about a week before.

I have a few guests staying at timeshares down the road...I was under the impression that they could purchase day passes.
  17. Thank you so much for sharing! I will be getting married in the Gran Porto Gazeebo too. Every good review, just makes me feel less and less stressed about it! I'm so nervous about myself or guests getting sick while we are there! I obviously know only to drink bottled water (even though they say the water on the resort is purified), but I didn't even think of dairy!!
  18. I am giving one per couple. I am planning on shipping them to all the guests at home a week before the wedding with a pre travel brochure with tons of helpful hints. I worried about traveling with them. And I'm nervous to ship them and deal with Mexican customs.
  19. I wish I proposed my fiance, we would've already been married by now! I was bugging him for a year before he did it! FI and I worked together for about a year before we started dating. I never really had the courage to talk to him first. Plus I had some baggage as I was getting out of a relationship- which he knew just from being outside on break at the same time and him hearing me talk about it. I used to talk to all my co-workers about how much I think him and I would be so good together! We always refered to him as my "boyfriend" when he walked by! LOL Then I was out of work for a week on vacation, before I left I told my co worker "watch when I'm gone, he'll miss me!" While I was out for the week he was asking my co worker all about me, and we started talking the day I got back from vaca! We've been together almost 4 years now!
