I think that's a great idea! They just need to feel comfortable reading the script so it's not too much for them to know! -

It was crazy, so yeah they are pretty strict about it. Alright that's what I thought. I'll have to purchase a day pass then for them just for that day.

For example if your ceremony is at 2 and reception isn't until 6 they woud have to leave. That's right you just reminded me. Now that I had to change my reception time...I have an uncle staying at a timeshare nearby who is coming for the wedding. It is a $20 cab ride each way for him. I'm not going to make him leave between 2:30-5...has anyone come across this? How strict are they..guess I would have to purchase a day pass for him for the full day to get by that rule...

Where did everyone get their sand ceremony kits from. I know there are a TON of sites out there with sand ceremonies. But I'm looking for one that is personalized and comes with a cork/sponge/top to make it easier for traveling back... -

We are only having semi-private reception which doesn't start until 4 hours after the ceremony so I'm not going to have the photgrapher there. Should I add an hour or is 2 enough? I'm thinking like he would come a half hour before or so while getting ready...the ceremony won't be more than a half hour...then some time after to take pictures...

Hmmm so I'm wondering if I should do cocktail hour immediately following like you are...or if i should just start that an hour before the reception...so from 2:30-5 they do their own thing...then 5-6 cocktail hour...then go to the reception all together right from there. That way we actually can attend the cocktail hour too because our pics should be done by then.

Ok my dilema of the day... I just got an e-mail back from Ana. I had told her I wanted cocktail hour and reception to follow the ceremony. She wrote back "Ok but remember most restaurants do not open for semi-private until 6." Well our ceremony is at 2...has anyone ran into this. What will my guests do between 2 and 5? I guests it's only a couple of hours with our pictures and all it will go by fast for us...but what will our guests do?? I was just talking to FI about it and i get the typical "Hun it's going to be fine, your thinking too much about it" So I said you know what I'll ask my fellow Royal brides, they'll give me a better answer! LOL

What are you walking down the Aisle to?

I loooove Free by Zac Brown band. Although, he keeps repeating "we don't have money" in the middle, maybe there is a way to edit that out because it's like he says it wayyy to many times! -
Lisa- I actually sent a message on the website to the wedding department asking for a new coordinator to be assigned to me, she contacted me within hours. She sent one email confirming I'm in the system, then a few days later she sent another email letting me know she is assinged to our wedding. She has been great! Orbit- Our wedding is actually at Real in the Gazebo. We are staying at Royal though, so I'll look for your wedding! I'm not sure where the reception will be held, I'm talking to WC about that now but we are doing only a semi- private reception. I like dealing with the WC in Mexico because they are first hand, I don't have to worry about them saying one thing and getting down there and finding out differently. Thank you for all your responses about the symbolic ceremony. My next concern is if FI's uncle performs the ceremony, he will pick up on it. He keeps asking us if he can do the ceremony. Although, FI cousin 2 years ago got married in Dominican Rep and his uncle performed the ceremony. She told me hers was symbolic and he didn't even realize he didn't sign anything! LOL I don't think it's worth the risk, I'll just tell him they won't allow it. My luck he'll ask someone down there lol...jeesh!
-
I'm sure this question was already asked, but I can't locate it. For you brides that have been recently married, did you do symbolic...did it appear real? And did anyone ask about signing the certificate or anything? I'm worried our guests will find out and I don't want FI parents to be upset. My parents already know. And I'm sooo happy with my cordinator so far! I've had more correspondence with her in the past 2 days then I had with Carole in 5 months! LOL I think things are looking up since the move!

How is everyone transporting their sand ceremony back? I remember seeing somewhere that some sand ceremony kits come with a stopper that works well so the sand doesn't shift...but I can't recall where they said they had found that. Any suggestions?
-
For everyone that recently had your weddings. Does the coordinator go over how the ceremony will go with you and the wedding party? I'm planning on having FI uncle, who is an ordained minister perform the ceremony since we are doing symbolic. I haven't asked his uncle yet, but he keeps asking us if we want him to do it. I'm nervous about everyone not knowing what they are doing....or do I just line everything up myself and tell everyone? Maybe I should tell everyone a time the day before to meet, show them the gazeebo (since most are staying at Royal and wedding is at Real) and do a dinner. Is it hard to get reservations for about 30 ppl? How far in advance should I make the reservation...a day...a week before?

Is it 20 or more people? Thanks Yea there is one wedding department for all Real resorts...whether it is Playa del Carmen or Cancun they handle them all. I'm not sure about the beach reception- I'm only doing a semi private recep because we have over 200 at our AHR when we get back!

I'm looking for a deal on disposable underwater cameras...has anyone bought these recently?
-
Ok so I used the main contact us link from the weddings site. I just asked for a contact person and to confirm my wedding information is in. Well I got an email back from Ana Perez? With all the general information, thank you for contacting us blah blah, then it says like a $200 deposit is required...and provide all this information (which i already had). But the subject of the email did say my last name and fi last name wedding. Which when I sent the original message I did put my full name but not FI...so I'm assuming she found us in the computer. I wrote back asking to confirm my deposit is recorded and the contract...keeping my fingers crossed!
-
You just contact the wedding department...either through the website of the 800 number...not sure they are concerned about which resort you stay at..just mostly where the wedding will be held. I originally was staying at Real but my travel agency bumped us up to Royal for no charge, so I called the wedding department (which was MI at the time) and asked if i could stay at Royal and have the wedding at Real...and whoever answered the phone really wasn't sure she had to put me on hold. Then she was like yea i dont see why not but you'll need a day pass- I said no I would be able to go to Real...she was like OH thats right!...and your paying for anyways! I felt like the only person that had asked them that question! Who knows who I talked to there but I really thinking it doesn't matter.

I just downloaded Angel by Jack Johnson and FI and I LOOOOVE IT! I think I'll save this for our first dance song! But now my dilema is we won't be doing our first dance in Mexico, we will be doing it at our AHR when we get back home...I'm thinking of FI and I walking back down the isle together to the song in Mexico....then at the AHR we can do our first dance to it. And some guests my recognize it and put two and two together! I think its meaningful...but maybe it's too much what do you think?
