I plan to send them out in the next month. I'm doing the message in the bottle invites, and waiting for my bottles to arrive. what my plan is to send these as STD/Invites all in one. We will be sending them about a year early, and we just refer them to our website to RSVP and get updated information on the travel arrangements and all.

I was looking for us to stay at the Royal and guests that would like to stay at the Real. The wedding packages are the same correct? I wonder if the lady I've been speaking to about putting down the deposit and all only handles Real resorts. Hmmm guess I should decide on the Real or Royal for the wedding location...

Hi Ladies. I will be getting married 1/11/11. We are pretty positive on Gran Porto Real, Playa de Carmen. Are there any other brides here looking to get married/ or already married there to collaborate with? I want to hear a few more positive things about it, before I put down our deposit!

Vday- I've been to a couple of the Passion parties, they really are a great time. I am thinking of doing one as well for my bachlorette party before we leave for Mexico. They are fun, you aren't required to buy anything if you are uncomfortable with it, but the whole atmosphere is a great time!

I have finally decided my wedding location and we are going with GPR. Thinking about going with the Luxury Package, has all the things we need. We will have about 30 guests. I emailed the wedding coordinator and heard back in the same day from Carole. Im super excited now that we have finally decided. Time to send out our message in the bottle STD/Invites!!

thefuturemrslutz--that is a great idea!! I'm thinking about doing the message in a bottle as my STD's/invites. Are you making them on the own? I've been researching I know I can make them on my own a lot cheaper than buying them. My only problem is the message in side? Not sure if i should figure out how to print it on nice paper, or just order that part.

Can you guys tell me, did GP provide a discount for booking multiple rooms? I know some resorts offer like 10% off if you book 10 or whatever rooms.

Yea I did see that policy, I'm sure we won't have issues with that though. All the guests will stay where we are staying. I was looking at Riu in Jamaica, but the rooms actually look a lot nicer in the Bahamas, but I haven't really seen anyone write about it so I was a little unsure!

Has anyone had their wedding at Riu in the Bahamas? If so, could you please let me know your review on it? Were the prices for the wedding/rooms resonable? What was your reception like?

I emailed the wedding department at Riu and asked for a few more details, but they advised me to check back in March 2010 for prices and wouldn't give me any more information. I don't want to wait until March just to decide which resort we will go to as I would like to get an idea of pricing to my guests. For the Caprice Package that they offer, I see it says semi private dinner for couple and guests, now is this held at one of the all inclusive restaurants? Or will I also have to pay seperately for my guests dinners? Also, did the pricing of the rooms for your guests seem resonable, was there a discount for multiple bookings? I would appreciate any information anyone has to help me out in getting a better idea of Riu! Thank you!!

Yes I keep doing the same thing. I wasn't sure if it would help at all going to a travel agent yet. But apparently it does it they helped you get locked in. Espcially if im 11 days into 2011 it shouldnt be a big deal. One resort emailed me back today saying to check back with them in March to discuss prices, I don't want to wait until March! I'm going to do a little more research myself, then meet with a TA.

I'm a 2011 bride!! I'm actually planning 1/11/11....which is only 11 days into the year, and I can't get any information because it's too far away from prices, but really its a year and 2 months. I just want to atleast get settled on where we are having it, so I can give my guests a round about price so they can start getting their money together yah know! Right now I've been pricing the 2010 packages for resorts in Jamaica, it's helping a little bit!

I've also been looking at Iberostar, but in Jamaica...but I'm just starting my planning, so I don't have any advice yet!! Congrats and good luck!

We will be getting married on 1/11/11, which is only a year and couple months away so I feel like i have to get a basic idea of what we are doing for the wedding. Originally, I was planning St Thomas. But after speaking to a couple all inclusive resorts there it was way to expensive to ask my guests to pay that would like to join us at the wedding. They were asking about $550/night, which just was a little too high for me. Does anyone have any idea, is it crazy for me to have a limit at about $1500-$2000 per person for an all inclusive resort for a week? Now we are thinking Jamiaca, and I have noticed they have many resorts and options here. Any help or suggestions on which resorts to start at with my price limit please let me know!!

Hi everyone my name is Nicole, from New York. We just recently got engaged and looking at a wedding on 1/11/11 in the Virgin Islands. We are leaning towards St Thomas, but I am looking at all resorts that are all inclusive. We don't want to spend too too much as we would like as much of our family to join us if possible.
