  1. Hi Ladies!! I am curious how early you sent the booking form and deposit to the resort? I was thinking about sending mine now, our wedding is a year and 1 month away...I just get nervous as the deposit is non refundable...I just keep reading posts and doing research to make sure this is where I want the wedding. But I'm also afraid 1/11/11 might be a popular date and I don't want to miss out on it!!
  2. Hi Ashley. I'm having issues with color schemes too!! I think black would be ok. Like short black dresses...what about black with a lighter color ribbon around the dress?
  3. We are getting married in January 2011, sounds forever away but it's only a year and one month!! We are doing 2011, because my FI sister is getting married in July 2010. Originally I wanted to get married in September 2010 but she got engaged first and I didn't want to make the weddings to close together for his parents and family. We are pretty set on the location and will be sending the deposit to hold our date this month as well as the STD's/invites!
  4. vacation- can't come soon enough!
  5. Ohhh yes they must be Carolina! My FI says he can't invite everyone he wants to but my mom can throw in extra people? Then he says well if you want them there it is up to you! I'm pulled both ways here! It's been a week or 2 and it hasn't gotten brought up again, but I'm starting my save the dates/invites and I forsee it being brought up verrry soon! I'm very undecided, maybe I'll give her 4 and give my FMIL 4....
  6. I confess: I was trying to keep our wedding to immediate friends and family to keep it small. My mother feels that some of her friends should be invited because "they've been there since i was little" I haven't seen most of these friends in probaly a good year or two. I dont think they should be invited to my wedding! Once we let my parents invite their friends....well that opens the gates for my FI parents to inivite their friends. I tried to explain to my mom that we have to pay per person for the reception, she says she'll pay the extra for her friends!! And on top of all of this, we are having a AHR that all of these friends are more than welcome to come to as my parents are paying for it!!!

  10. Yea thats what I figure we'll stay at Gran for the first couple of days prior to the wedding too. Plus our parents are paying our hotel/air fare fees, so I won't feel as bad about them paying if we only do 2 or 3 nights at the Royal. I planned on telling the guests the last 2 or 3 days we are keeping to ourselves as the "Honeymoon Time" So thats my plan as of now, I haven't sent the deposit yet for the wedding date, I just want to be 100% on my decision! So I'm pricing all the packages now to decide which is the best for us...
  11. Hi Kate. I am planning on having our wedding at Gran/Royal. I like the idea of guests having the choice. I was thinking originally of my FI and I staying at the Royal and having the wedding there, and I know guests stay at Gran can come to the Royal without buying a day pass just for the wedding, and Royal guests can go to Gran without a day pass. My thing is that I want my bridesmaids, mother and future MIL to be able to be with me getting ready- and don't want them to purchase a day pass just to be with me in my room for the day. As of now I'm thinking of staying at Gran for the couple of nights prior to the wedding, having the wedding there, then wedding night and 3 nights following, my FI and I to tranfer to Royal. That way we can be with everyone the day of the wedding, and still enjoy the luxurious rooms at Royal. Not sure if thats something you have looked at but it sounds as of you can upgrade to Royal even once you get there and change your mind so that's a plus!! And I'm glad someone has been contiplating this Gran/Royal thing like I have for the past month! LOL Happy planning!!
  12. Im going to have my wedding at the Real, then the wedding night, and 3 nights following my FI and I will transfer to the Royal. From the reviews it sounds like the Real isn't AS crowded so you can have a tad bit more of a private wedding ceremony.
