Dreams Cancun Symbolic Ceremony Help!
TheOneDay replied to Rk_cheung's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I am also having a symbolic wedding at the Dreams Cancun in June. Don’t worry we all feel the same way about the communication.. Slow and frustrating. But you can get A LOT of the info you are looking for from other brides on the above posted page. If you would like to do a sand or candle ceremony you will need to bring your own supplies for that and just ask you coordinator to add it into your ceremony. We have chosen to do the sand ceremony but not the candle for the Gazebo is very windy and we did not want to have any candle issues. I hope this helps and welcome to the board! -
Bluestarfishsea – Thank you for the kindness. If this is all the drama surrounding my wedding I will be one lucky bride Plus all the ladies on this posting look so pretty it must have just been bad luck for me. I don’t want to deter anyone from ordering dresses. I just wanted to make sure everyone can make an informed decision on which company they choose to go through. I contacted light in the box but they were 30 dollars more. I would have paid 30 dollars more for less drama. The upside is that dress shopping is fun, I am excited to see what is new out there.

I had a death in the family and have not been on the destination forum for a while. I am excited to get back on!! Please excuse my choppy comments to previous postings. When I saw the new beach I was so upset. I feel like it ruins the gazebo. So I completely understand! I am going to ask my photographer to angle the photos in a different direction and hopefully we won’t be able to see the rocks. I was even thinking asking them to set the chairs different (not quite centered) to keep it out of the photos. (I love the bridesmaid as a buffer idea) We did a sight visit last November and although the Himitsu beach location is not as large or as intimate I liked it best for three reasons. It is right next to the beach bar. This means there are restrooms and a bar within a few feet. This is good for our fast drinkers and the elderly who can not walk all the way up to the hotel for the restroom. And secondly the sun sets on that side. My wedding photographer is Pierre Violle. I am extremely excited about him. My fiancé “knows everything” about photography and so he picked him based on equipment and knowledge. We are also using him for a connote trash the dress session and I must say I am most excited about the trash the dress session. Pierre Visual Studio - Wedding Photography- Mayan Riviera- Playa del Carmen - Home - Wedding Photographer. He does have a lot of fish eye on his web sight but has a lot of equipment and is ok with little to no fish eye. Lastly: Congratulations to all the new brides on here. There are some amazing ladies that come back after getting married to help us out. Thanks to them we can have the best weddings ever. I have also posted the link here that is for Dreams Brides to post their dates; I think its fun to see who is getting married the same month as you. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...te-here-24950/

Hi Ladies… So I hate to post this but I wish there was a review like this before I ordered so I decided to share my negative experience to warn other brides. Let me start by saying I costumed designed my dress (photoshopped what I wanted). They may be good at dresses they make every day. So please keep that in mind when you look at my negative items. Negative Items with I had with my Gianarbridal order: •It took them 13 weeks to make my dress instead of 5. •I had to constantly contact them for updates past the 5 weeks. Each week being told it would be done the next. •The dress was made 3 inches smaller around my rib cage then ordered. (Verified by my seamstress). •Fishing line was used down the front of the dress and looked very poor in photos •The waist of the dress was not fully attached. It was only sown on the back and right hip but the rest was just hanging off. •I ordered a dress bag. Reassured that the groom would not be able to see the dress through the bag (I wanted to make sure it was not clear). When received it is mesh in the front of the bag and completely transparent. •I ordered a crinoline slip. I opened it in the seamstress shop. She asked me to take it outside because it smelt like rotten fish and she did not want the rest of the dresses to smell bad. The above issues caused me to have to start looking for a dress all over again and because it took them so long to “make” the dress I can not longer order a brand new dress. The ladies that have recently purchased their dresses look stunning so I hope I was just very unlucky with my experience. Good luck ladies.

Maria's Dreams Cancun Review - Pic Heavy
TheOneDay replied to mc5363's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congratulations!! Everything looks amazing and I love your dress. -
They basically fill out an excel form with your wedding details and e-mail it to you. I think I had mine back within a few days. When I met with Claudia this week she said they have almost 40 weddings in the month of November. She is very kind and organized, but with that kind of work load I am guessing she just forgot to send it back to you. I would send her an e-mail.

Sunitam: We just returned (literally last night) from a sight visit at the Dreams Cancun. On Monday there was a couple having a private dinner in the Gazebo, it looked extremely romantic! During the day we went and walked on some of the pier. The end of the pier was closed because it was falling apart. I think this may be due to the extremely rough weather hurricane Ida produced Friday and Saturday. mc5363: Welcome home! I was nervous for you with Hurricane Ida but it seems like she waited until after your wedding! Congratulations!

I guess tripadvisor.com pulls rates from perfectexcapes.com. I have had a handful of guest ask me if it is safe to book through them. I have never booked through them and can not really find many reviews online about them. I am hoping someone on this sight may have had either a poor or good experience booking with that company that you can share with me.

Below is the information from my contract with Pierre on his standard Photoshop procedures. I had my fiancé explain the reasoning of this to me. He said that Pierre has very good equipment that will take multiple photos every second. So when he takes 150 photos 7 might be taken within the same two seconds and he will only use the one with the best shot (like having your eyes open). I never new this but I guess my fiancé also sets up his camera to take the same photo 3 times in a row with different lighting and then combines them for different effects. I am thinking Pierre also does that. I hope this helps. " (1) Amount of photographs you get: For any package, I guaranty a minimum number of photos. Anyway, you’ll get all the good shoots; I never keep good shoots for me By experience I know that a good professional photographer shoot an average of 30 to 35 good photos (emotions) per hour. During the session I shoot around 150 photos per hour to capture the best moment of each emotion. The post-production consists in selecting and touch up the best photos to give you the most emotional photographs. (2) Personalized design of each photograph (This work is time consuming and explain the delivery time): The contrast, colorimetric balance, light and the image composition are optimized manually with specialized picture software (Nikon Capture NX and Photoshop CS). A digital makeover treatment is added subsequently to eliminate any imperfection in each photograph. " - info from my contract

We also plan on doing the cenotes underwater 50 photo package with him the week following our wedding but have not paid the deposit to set the date for that. He is the only photographer in our price range that uses great equipment (fish eye lenses and such), has reputable underwater photography equipment, and Photoshop’s your photos. He limits the number of sessions he does in a week so that he can touch up your photos and offer a 3 week turn around. He has probably received 20 e-mails from either my fiancé or I and has been nothing but kind and understand with each response. At first I was nervous that he is new to wedding photography in Mexico but I am excited to see his artistic style at work.
