New here and a Groom not a Bride - so HELP :0)
loua4 replied to Rainuck's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I have to agree with missgomes, Starting with a good travel agent is the key. Depending on which resort you choose they sometimes come with a planner, and they can send you a package that will let you know if there are vendors they suggest and then you can get an idea of what is out there. Good luck! I is so cool to see a guy so into this. -
hey guys, haha! did the fit test this morning and only made it half way through. I am hoping that is just because I was sick for the last 3 weeks, because i was a p90x lean girl. Oh well. going to do the workouts tomorrow still

Hi, I ordered our guestbook from the guestbook store on line. They are really different and non-traditional. The website is: www.guestbookstore.com Try the website, they are really cute! Wow! Congrats on having everything else finished (well other than those 3 things) that is amazing. I still have to finish the oot bags, I did my boudior photo shoot today. That was soooo fun. i have to finish putting together the wedding partys gifts, and i have no idea what to get my parents still... We leave in 35 days... I have nothing packed. in fact we dont even have luggage yet! But despite that I am very calm about it all. haha!

Anyone not doing a private reception?
loua4 replied to magirl's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
we are not doing a private reception. It is to crazy exspensive. Our WC said that before one of the bars opens we can set up our sound system in there and have our first dance, father/daughter dance. ect. and then we can take our ipod and docking station outside and do what we want out there. so that is our plan. Glad to see that others did that too. -
Hey everyone, Wow! it has been forever since I last posted on here. You all have done so much! congrats on the invites that were posted. They are all so nice. I made my passport invites with a crew of family and bridesmaids and close friends. haha! my youngest brother came to hang out with his FI who is one of my BM and he was calling that day a sweatshop! haha! They all went out at the beginning of July with the RSVP date as Aug 1. but we had issues with the post office, so I only got half back. but that's ok. I bought my dress in Feb : Maggie Sottoro called Athena. SOOOOOOOO pretty! Love it. It came in june. I have had the first fitting and go back this month on the 20th. so far so good. It is perfect! I lost 20lbs since i purchased the dress but thats okay it is perfect. I have 2 pairs of shoes. really high and silver sparkly heels for the reception and wedged flip flops from old navy in white. I have my jewerly too. I was going to wear my mom's veil but it doesnt really go. and it is falling apart. so i am just going to make hair slips out of starfish that a BM got for me in the Bahamas (which is fitting since that is where we are getting married) All i need for my attire is the blue panties for my something blue I am not going to wear anything else under my dress. it is a tie-up so i can really be squeezed in there and the girls will look great! We got our guest book from the guestbook store. It is so perfect. I love how the guests can put where they are from and draw pictures. you should check it out. I am almost finished the OOT bags. just a few more things. I am ordering the Pashmina's for the girls this weekend. Picked up my wedding band on sat and my FI is picking up his this coming sat. i am doing my boudior photos this sunday! i am getting excited. Even though I am sick today I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be gone by this sunday. i have my pre-travel brochure letter and meet the guests letters ready to go, with everyones luggage tags. just trying to find colourfull envelopes We are getting a jack and jill thrown by one of our GM and his wonderful girlfriend. It is on the 30th of this month. I am super excited! I have had 2 showers and they were fantastic. I have a question, are anyone asking their guests to leave their gifts at home or not to buy any to bring on the trip like we are? What are you guys going to do if your guests dont listen and bring gifts anyways? I am hoping that the suitcases that will have the OOT will work for those who are just going to bring you something regardless. I dont know if I am leaving anything out. but I am pretty much ready, kinda even though we leave in 37 days!!!!! OMG! kinda excited and freaked out and the same time! haha! Anyways, I should go. hope you all have a good day, and that my drugs kick in so I start to feel a little better. Cant call in sick today bye ladies!

Wow! I am really sorry about your father. I have to agree with lamalldiva, you have to do what you think is right for you and your FI, but I really like the idea of doing the legal ceremony at home before hand with just your parents. But it is up to you. With us (and i know it is not the same situation) my FI' family is not coming because they cannot afford it and his father has health concerns and is not aloud on a plane, as well one of my brothers cannot afford to come either. So 2 weeks before we leave we are having a legal ceremony at the city hall. It will be really nice and will included them as well. And then everyone that is coming can come and enjoy the week with us and be there at our real wedding ceremony. But in the end it is up to you on what is right. Good luck!!

Riu Palace Paradise Island - Bride to be and NERVOUS!!
loua4 replied to JENBRAND's topic in Bahamas Weddings
We have not gotten married yet. We get married there next month. But yes of course! I will let you know once we get back. As for Tim, yes he does have a website. it is:http://www.timaylenweddings.com/index.html As far as i know we dont have to pay for tim to take the photos. The photograper that usually does the RIU is a local as well. I will get back to you on that though. Yes it is $100 for visitors and only for 8 hrs of the day. I cant tell you to much but once we get back next month I will let you know. take care! -
yes, it is a huge scare for nothing!

Bahamas Beach Wedding Just started planning HELP!!
loua4 replied to misslindz's topic in Bahamas Weddings
Hi Lindsey, You most likely wont get a price menu on the RIU until Debbie (the wedding planner emails you) She just emailed me the first time last week. We are getting the Royal package as there will only be 21 of us there. We are just going to do the semi-private reception at one of the alacart restarants. I was really hoping for the Krystal, but they dont do wedding receptions there. This way we dont have to pay extra on top of the price for the package. There is an option to go with a private reception in the ballroom but that is not in our budget. Communication with Debbie is slow. I had decided to email the resort 2 weeks ago. I decided I have so many things to finish and I wanted to get my selections in now. haha! and she emailed back about almost a week later. I have these forms to fill out and fax back and then we go from there. I did email her about seeing examples of things, but have not heard from her yet. But I realize that there are like 5 weddings a day there so I have to be patient. haha! When are you getting married. We got engaged 1yr before our wedding day and i started planning then. So I wouldnt think that you are planning to far ahead. personal message me and i will try and email you what I got from debbie so that you can see what to expect in the future for you. Good luck! I am not sure what I am doing, if I am doing anything. Our wedding is at the end of the week and all our guests will know each other by then. But I definatly want to find that magazine and buy it tomorrow!
-
Thanks! I will do that for sure

Hey ladies, I am going tomorrow to get my very first legs and bikini wax. any words of advise? I have done my eye brows for years, but never my legs or bikini. I am doing it early, which I was told was a good idea. This way if there are any reactions I will know, and I will also know how long it takes for the redness to go away before I go again before I get married at the end of next month... Really excited to get the hair gone, haha! growing it for the last 3 weeks sucks, but kinda scared. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I am officially a Riu Palace Paradise Island bride!!!! :D
loua4 replied to Cindy15's topic in Bahamas Weddings
Hi Cindy15, Things are going good so far. We leave in 7 weeks tomorrow!!! Super excited and yet scared at the same time, haha! lots to do still. The Wedding Co-ordinator emailed me this week. So when she emails you it will be with all these forms that you need to fill out and decided on. It also lets you know what is included in your package and what is extra. So that is nice. I am waiting to hear back about bouquet examples, ceremony and cake examples before I sign anything and fax anything back to her. Her name is Debbie. Oh! good luck with your bottle invites. I had a friend do that for her mexican wedding and it looked awesome! I am using Tim allen as our photographer. He is based in Nassau and his prices are amazing and his photos are really good too. Plus he gets back to you with in hours as well. I am just like you. haha! everyone I know when I told them we were going away was like "Really? but you need to be in control of everything." but it isnt so bad. Good luck! And sorry for the wait on my reply. -
